So just bought these HTC RC E240 seeing as they are classed as a HTC ONE accessory on HTC's accessories store but I've noticed that the loudspeakers play music when the headset is connected. They play low, but they are playing either way. I was really surprised to hear audio coming from the headset and the boomsound speakers at the same time.
Does anyone else with this headset have the same issue?
Mine work absolutely fine. When you insert the headset does the headset icon appear on the notification bar?

Yeah the headset icon pops up, and in the settings menu the beats audio section says HTC In Ear. Headphones are clear and work fine for calls etc, but music definitely leaks out of the top speaker. Wondering if I've got a faulty headset since it only happens with these. Hmmmm
Nevermind. Updated to 4.2.2 - Issue has gone
Dear galactacus,
I'd love to ask you something, I bought this hands-free cause the original one came out from the box aren't working anymore, now I am experiencing a strange issue after update to 4.2.2.
Basically when I use this hands-free the sound seems to be better with beats audio not enabled. I don't know why, all the other hands-free works really fine, even the original hands-free from the HTC sensation have better quality and audio while using them than the rc e240

Hi guys,
I just bought a platronics m25 bluetooth headset.
i'm paring it with my gs3 running 2.1.2
problem is i cant seem to figure out how to turn off the microphone on my phone, when talking on the headset.
when engaged to a call, my phones mic and my headsets mic both work, thus creating an echo , hearing myself talk = very annoying.
is there any kind of setting im missing? maybe an app that can solve the issue?
thanks in advance, cheers!
I have the exact same problem with my s3 and my plantronics m25.. Running also 4.1.2, let me know if you find any solution.
Thanks

Hallo
I just bought a BT headset. I paired it and shows "audio telephone. Connected as audio telephone".
Problem is that works for phone calls but not multimedia (music, YouTube...).
So I don't understand if is a p6/android prob or of the headset.
I have the 115 installed

Not sure how related, but I had to install an app from google play called bluetooth auto connect to allow my car bluetooth to be able to pair properly with the P6. In the app you can tick various boxes to allow certain things like media etc.
Hope in the next release they update the bluetooth software as the current one isn't the best!

I have P6 U06 (B111) and car BT receiver. I paired those two without any problems, and without even entering ppairing code. I have bought BT receiver on ebay.
It works with phone calls and for media (music, navigation, or any other audio. There is no need to instal aditional apps.
Hope this helps.

i'm on B111 as well, and although it would link up with my car, i could only view the contacts on my phone until i unpaired (ie turned off engine or bt). It did come up on initial pairing asking if i wanted to let car see the contacts, which i ticked the never show again option and clicked ok. Next time it didn't allow this, but did pair the phone. Had to unpair from the bt settings and pair from scratch. This time i didn't tick the never show again and it asks me everytime i get into the car. The above app installed solved all of that.
Thanks everybody for the help.
Made further test turns out the eBay seller sent me the wrong version, the one without media channel.

Bluetooth dropouts
Hi,
I have a Plantronics M55 multipoint connected to the P6 and to a Samsung galaxy mini.
With the Samsung there are no problems.
On the ascend after some time, when i get a call it rings in the headset but nothing happens when i press the answer button on the headset.
So i answer from the phone. the headset keeps ringing while i'm talking on the phone.
Sometimes after that the BT on phone turns off then on again and reconnects to the headset,
Other times i have to disconnect the headset from bluetooth settings on the phone, then bt turns off and on again and a message pops up that says : an app wants to turn on bluetooth and make it visible for 120 seccond. allow or deny.
Meanwhile the headset keeps ringing. After i click allow, bluetooth turns on and reconnects to the headset and everything works fine for another couple of hours.
Any help please?

i have the same problem with a tdk a33 speaker (great sound) i'm guessing it's a problem with support for the protocol which there are many of and you can only know what you are using by pulling logs from the phone... not much you can do unless it's a problem with the phones bt stack. if the speaker has it's own volume control it might not support remote volume control. but if the speaker is meant to be controlled from the phone then it might be possible that changing the bt stack or driver for the bt chip in the rom/kernel would solve the issue. this would require rooting and flashing though.
can you control the volume with other devices? i haven't really messed with mine enough to know which device is the problem...

DANG! I just ordered a tdk a33 and didn't realize the phone wouldn't control the volume.
Is there any software that will work to do the volume control?

The phones framework supports BT volume control but it seem like the BT stack doesn't have complete support for the particular protocol some of these devices use...
When I try to adjust the volume the bar shows on the screen and it move and the speaker icon is substituted with a BT icon... A custom ROM might work but I can't recommend any as I haven't tried them yet... I will work on a solution and post detail here when I know more... My fathers old galaxy s 2 works perfectly with the a33 and I will check with my infuse that runs cyanogenmod.
after some googleing there seems to be bugs in the new bt stack... supposedly from somone testing 4.4.1 they fixed it.. but who knows. i don't even know how to become a 4.4.1 tester...
in the meantime i think any fix will need root.
I have a pair of Jabra Elite Active 65t Bluetooth earbuds. I had no problem connecting them to my Huawei Mate 20 X L-29 and they auto-connect each time I put them in my ears, but I have an odd problem. When I put them in my ears they say "connected" and play a little tune and I can then receive and make phone calls, call up and use Google Assistant, etc., and the voice audio through the earbuds works fine. But if I try to play any type of music, whether it is streaming through YouTube or Spotify, or even playing a downloaded .mp3 file through the Google Play Music app, I just get the sound of hissing and stuttering in my earbuds, no music. If I go into settings on the phone and turn Bluetooth off and then back on, voila, the music plays fine and continues to do so until I power my phone off and on and then the problem repeats itself, again solved by turning Bluetooth off and back on. These same Bluetooth earbuds auto-connect and play music fine with my Xiaomi Mi Max 3 and with my wife's Huawei Mate 8. The problem is therefore with this phone, not the earbuds. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I'm not experiencing this issue. Music/calls/youtube all play fine over bluetooth. I have the China version.
My Mate 20 X (China version, EMUI 9.0.0.137) are intermittent playing music through my bluetooth speaker, even the phone and speaker are next to each other. The speaker is fine playing music with my other Galaxy S8. The songs are stored in my phone, so the internet speed is not a concern.
Hey,
I think this very much depends on the pair of headphones. I have the Chinese Mate 20 X, and I own 2 pairs of BT headphones.
My skullcandy crushers work fine. Crisp, loud, in sync. No problems.
My Jaybird Run earbuds will only work for 1 or maybe 2 songs on spotify before losing connection or turning off. They are basically unusable. I'm not sure if it's the phone's fault or whether its more generally a bluetooth 5.0 problem?
I've tested my Jaybird Run earbuds on my old phone and I have no problem.
There are so many factors, its hard to say what's causing this and whether its the fault of the phone, bluetooth 5, or the headphones.
Same with p20pro ( same bt buds) to the point i just go to bt and disconnect and reconnect everytime beforeci start listening .
I m pretty sure its only happening with thid headset since i had a cheap bt headset before and it was fine .

Which buds are you using?
The P20 Pro is using Bluetooth 4.2
So I've done a bit more testing and have now paired my Jabra Active Elite 65t 5.0 Bluetooth earbuds with several other phones, running Android operating systems 7, 8, and 9. They pair and connect seamlessly on both calls and media. But on the Huawei Mate 20 x they connect immediately for calls, but they don't always connect for media playback. Like the chap above mentioned, this happens whether I am streaming music to the earbuds or playing music downloaded to my phone, so it is not a wifi issue. If I can't hear music going to my earbuds when the phone's settings say that I'm connected to them, I have to do one of two things. The first is to toggle Bluetooth off and then back on - in which case they music plays and will continue to do so until I've powered down and reconnected the earbuds. The second way to hear the music is to go into settings/developer options and change the default AAC Bluetooth codec to SBC, in which case I instantly hear music. I can then immediately switch back to the AAC codec (which my earbuds work with) and the music continues to play. There is no way, however, to change the 'default' codec to SBC, as each time you exit developer options it reverts to AAC. Perhaps Huawei could fix this in a subsequent firmware update and that may solve the problem. I'm receiving two more Huawei Mate 20 x phones this afternoon and I'll test it with them as well to see if the problem is isolated to the one phone or if it is a problem with all the Mate 20 x phones.

Your earbuds are using Bluetooth 5.0? That defeats my bluetooth theory.
I really hope Huawei fixes this with an update because it would be nice to use my earbuds with my main phone.
I'm having some bluetooth speak issues - BOSE speakers. However, I don't current;y have the time to find out what or why - Pairs but just doesn't seem to connect properly. I might try to investigate in December

My model is L29
To set the Jabra Service to run in the background (or any app for that matter) go to Settings / Battery / App launch, scroll down to Jabra Service and de-select "manage automatically". That will force it to run in the background all the time. It only uses a tiny amount of memory. You will know when you've done it correctly when you put your Jabra's in your ears (which turns them on and autoconnects them) and you see the little "Jabra Service" icon displayed on the top left hand side of the phone.
The L29 I ordered for my wife's Christmas present arrived today and the Bluetooth media connection problem occurs on it just like it does on my L29. I've tried the Jabra's on five or six other phones now and the problem playing media audio only occurs on the Mate 20 x. Must be a firmware glitch.

I do face the hissing and stuttering during play every time when I am near any electronic stores. This issue has been following me from my previous IPhone 8 Plus before getting this Huawei mate 20x.
After pairing up with huawei mate 20x, I still have similar issues like the description above. But it serves me well when I go for my run and gym. I still use wired earpiece while commute to avoid suspicious look talking to myself. Jabra elite active 65t, is my sports companion only.

Thanks. I've just bought thenm and I'm facing stuttering and interruption while watching prime video while in the subway. I previously had zolo liberty and had zero issues while in the subway. To be fair I always have two devices connected to the Jabra. I'm wondering whether that's the problem...but reading your answer I guess they don't seem to have a rock solid connection anyway.
