[Request] Expanded desktop manager - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys,
I have a simply (?) request for the developers: can you realize a tool for a better management of the expanded desktop mode? I think that, if properly realized it could make much more usefull this option. In particular I was thinking something a background utility that can be enabled and disabled simply with, for example, a three fingers tap on the screen.
I hope someone would like to work on it.
Thank you all

+1. A pinch gesture would be super awesome! I'm not sure this is the right forum though...

Or maybe a different expand desktop. Hide only nav bar, hide only statusbar, hide both. This would be pretty nice.

Or maybe..
Just hear me out.
I know it will sound a little crazy in the begining,
But what if you post in the right section next time. OK?

since you are not developing anything, not the development section for sure. you probably want to try q&a since you are asking.

Xda have very complex sub-forums xD
Awesome addition by the PA team: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbvzBQAfMYk

Thanks to the moderator and once more I am very sorry!
I hope someone would realize my idea.

[Q] How to remove the crappy lockscreen?

So. I got my 5th android telephone now, Galaxy S2, and i absolutely love it. I have ofcourse, rooted the phone and removed most of the crappy samsung apps as most of them just seem to drain battery.
Its almost the perfect phone for me now. There is however one thing that remains and endless anoyance for me. Was the same with S1.
How on earth do you remove that redicilous lockscreen? Or change it to something else? I dont mean changing the lockscreen picture. Just replacing it with some other lock screen. Like the one that comes with HTC Desire and so on.
Just to be clear. I know how to turn lockscreen of. But i want to CHANGE it. I hate the swipething.
5th Android phone and you haven't heard of Market?.. Widgetlocker or who knows how many other options? Maybe post questions in the Q&A section also.
Sent from my HTC Flyer using vodka
You can try "widget locker" from Market and there is also an app "Agile Lock" that makes the same Lockscreen as its in Sense 3.0 (with the Ring and shortcuts).

Thank for your suggestions stein81! ) As i browsed through your suggestion i actually found one i liked better!

Don't usually jump in these, especially when I'm new to the samsung side of xda but I think your the one being a sour tard... Your the one posting questions in the themes and apps section and when he provided you an answer you insult him... smh go investigate the market and while your at it learn how to search.

Widget locker and Agile lock(currently using) are the best alternatives to stock lockscreen. But if you like to read your facebook n rss feeds then you might want tui try out the Flyscreen which is also free. There are other apprentices as well. But these are the best ones to my concern.

I believe that there is something potentially in the works for upvoting or downvoting posts, possibly hiding or collapsing posts that are downvoted enough times to a couple of lines. Not deleting them, so you could click a button to show the post and not hide it. There was a trial in the Nexus forum which has since stopped but it may be rolled out at some point it is deemed feasible.
Well
Hope something comes out like that

It actually sounds good. And it could downplay the thanks systemvalready in place. So at least membera would think twice before posting.

[GUIDE] The thanks buttons use and what happends if you don't use it!

Hello all xda:ers!
Surely have all of you have gotten a thanks, but have you given one?
The thanks button is more than a button its a help and a way to show your gratitude and support.
So what do you do with it?
If somebody has helped you and solved your problem, press the thanks button.
If somebody has posted some material you like or download press the thanks button.
If somebody has wrote a comment or thread you agreed on, press the thanks button.
And so on...
Let's give you a example of what happens if you don't press the thanks button:
A guy who is new in development have decided to do an app for himself to use because he feels like it's missing something on his phone. He makes the app, and feels that oh yeah this is a really good app, I should give it to the community so they also can use it!
He makes a thread here on XDA about the app and so on and adds the Apk to the thread in an attachment...
Really many here at xda thinks oh what a great app, I couldn't live without it any more!
So after a few days he sees that the thread has had 10k views so he checks out the thread to se what people have said and so on. He looks at his post and sees that he only have gotten 10 thanks!
So he thinks then, well people didn't like my app why should I continue to develop on it? He takes the thread and closes it and takes away the attachments, he makes a code that sends a message to all the downloaded apps that the app testing is now finished and closed so you can't use it anymore and there is no further development since nobody likes this app...
So all of those who downloaded the app can now not use the application that were so great and the guy who made it is gone out of the community!
SO IF YOU LIKE SOMETHING PRESS THAT THANKS SO THE DEVELOPERS CAN UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR WORK IS APPRECIATED AND CONTINUES ON THEIR WORK! AND SO THE USERS WHO HELP YOU HERE ON XDA FEELS THAT ITS GOOD TO HELP PEOPLE INSTEAD OF JUST THROWING SH*T IN THE THREADS!
Thanks that's all I wanted to say!

Why are people always begging for thanks?
Because they can and they think it really matters for something besides the size of their e-..... when all it really is a potentially wildly inaccurate measure of someone's ability to answer a question correctly.

Help! Phone softbricked!

If anyone can help that would be awesome!
I've installed LGNPST from the IRC (autoinstall) All drivers are up to date as well.
My problem is my phone reboots at 67% (I know it's supposed to hang at 85%) and wont go past the sprint boot image, screen is "on" but black with lit up touch buttons that vibrate every so often... but stays at that.
Thanks in advance for any help
*********EDIT**********
So saw the lock screen flash very quickly and status bar pop up momentarily, gives me hope but still can't get it to flash properly...

Problem solved, thanks Shellnut2!

ALL questions even those involving development or , help (which most are) belong in the Q and A section. Development is for a developer to post something or someone who discovered something that can be useful to development to post

So what happened was after an initial LGNPST where it stripped root from my phone, but left all user data and apps on it, i attempted to re-root to try to remove unwanted apps
I used the AIO tool, and for some reason it didn't push the root files correctly, and really muddled up the firmware.
So after about 15 failed attempts to reflash stock, Shellnut2 on IRC thought it could be a problem with cashes, so he had me walk through Binarys root method, something went right with that cause the second it finished pushing SU my phone rebooted about 3x and was in working order again.
(And im fairly certain that my problem with LGNPST was a sub par usb cable)

Just going to toss out that this has been on just about every Android news channel imaginable lately. It is certainly a great step though, and I hope to see it integrated into a framework modifier like Xposed.

Why when it is open source if you read the news article all that's needed is a git cherry pick and build. Then its done.

Things are rarely that simple, not because cherry picks don't work, but because some people are in different circumstances than your own. My current phone is a HTC One running a stock kernel, and without more sources custom kernels and ROMs are something of a tricky business right now. I prefer stock when possible, so an Xposed-style framework patch is a good way of "cherry picking" what I would like in a workable manner.
Great that you're sharing the news, but you posted in every thread already and now opened a thread in dev section =/
+1 for good intentions though

My two cents...I know goast from the forums, and he is an advanced user and a great resource to me. He's obviously pumped up about halo, and rightly so (it's a pretty amazing innovation by PA team). I'm not attacking anyone, but I like to stay informed about new things, so I appreciated his blast out. Many devs here work demanding jobs, and donate their personal time to development, so this info may help them in this fragmented crazy fast paced world. I just wanted to thank goast for the info, and impart some positive energy here. I'm not a dev, nor am I an expert, but I share goast's passion for android and desire to learn more about it. To me, that's why I love xda...I have a commercially dead device that is still extremely viable thanks to all of the great work here. Ok, I'm done...everybody enjoy halo!
