Sorry if someone else asked this question before.
I saw the spec of Optimus G does support USB host, however, when I try to plug in the OTG, nothing shows up, i tried stick mount and other apps, still not working.
Anyone know does OG has OTG? or just like Nexus 4, it is a lie?
sent from my E971 Optimus G
As i know it doesnt, nothing in specs either
It shows "USB Host" on GSMArena

I can write "LG Optimus G has Intel Core i7 CPU".
Will be that the official specs? Same with GSM-Arena.
The specs says MHL ready, but nothing about USB-OTG.
no,nexus 4,g,lte2,those phones don't support otg.
I hope USB otg work fine on Optimus G .
I need to use keyboard on my phone
There is no usb host on OG,can you read?

In my opinion LGOG supports USB OTG (USB Host) but we don't the trick which will make it working as I got these results on my one. You can see my screen shoots that shows it supports usb host but still I can't connect any usb device to my phone. Moders at this forum can make it working if they want.:good:
Maybe its working for controlers,gamepads. . .
But i dont think that support for external drives is going to work, ever

USB OTG on E975 requires external power supply to the peripheral device or the phone can power it by itself?

I guys, maybe I'll buy LG Optimus G for xmas. The only lack of this phone, imho, is the missing SD card slot. It won't be a lack if this phone supported OTG, but, as lot of us know, microusb on this phone doesn't provide 5V output, so it's impossibile to connect other usb devices to OG.
5V output is not the only requirement to make USB OTG work, but 5V usb power can be easily supplied with a Y cable with one end connected to a power source (computer or phone charger itself or external emergency batteries). OTG needs also compatibile soc (snapdragon s4 pro is compatible for sure), kernel support (it should be enough to connect devices, such as usb gamepads) and software support (for example to read what's on a usb stick). Software support is easier than 5V, lot of free and well know softwares can be found on googleplay. So only kernel support is the last enemy. I'm not able to compile kernels or other stuff like this, but, as I saw for other devices (even mid-range like some samsungs with novathor chipset) or for OG's almost-twin Nexus 4 which has the same situation of OG, kernel support can be easily integrated by people with some skills in android programming.... So, is there anyone who can try to add kernel support?

I got that working 3-4 months ago.
There's a kernel from Houstonn's AOSP 4.4 kiktkat ROM.
Try that, I used OTG for like 1 month And then moved to stock again.

Hello Everybody,
Im new here. One question : I have my LG G4 (H811 T-Mobile), Android 6.0, Kernel 3.10.84
i got OTG cable BobjGear with RJ45 Ethernet Adapter. When I'm using just OTG to connect some Flash drive it works perfect, but when i'm connecting via RJ45, getting lights on RJ45 (green & orange) but don't have ethernet. If LG G4 supports OTG Ethernet?
I dont think it does support otg ethernet. I have a wifi transmitter And it wont work either. I hink its more of a lack of drivers. I also know a otg dvd burner will not work cause android has no dvd drivers. As android has never had the need for them.
Ive used loads of thing on my otg. Now there may be an app to make otg ethernet capable but i dont know if androids gonna ever try it cause ethernet cables are a dying technology
Also for future refrence please post questions in q&a threads. Thank you.
I'm using auxus prime p8000 I'm checked for specifications on gadget360.com.
http://m.gadgets.ndtv.com/iberry-auxus-prime-p8000-2872
they said my phone has gyroscope I'm using Nexus ROM made For elephone p8000
My gyroscope not working how to fix it
It doesn't really have a gyroscope. Specs on several sites are wrong. Some also said it had USB OTG support, but it doesn't have it, either

I think someone connected a keyboard successfully with a powered hub.
I wonder if there is any custom kernel for the HTC 10 that supports usb to ethernet adapters over OTG, so I avoid using wifi.
come with stock kernel

Did you tried it personally? Which android version?
This adapter claims NOT to work with HTC (see description) so if one doesn't work it's almost sure that's because of the kernel not because of the adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Micro-B-Ethernet-Raspberry-AX88772A/dp/B00RM3KXAU
Here is also claimed that the drives have been removed from Samsung, LG , HTC, Huwawei.

Forget this phone, LG V20 and Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ support OTG USB to ethernet adapters. See more here:

Hi.
Does lg g7 support this feature?
I would like to connect to a external monitor.

I tried my USB to HDMI that I use with my switch and it didn't work. It comes up with a message telling you to use the casting feature.

LG didn't support this on the G6, and I had hoped they would include it here, but I guess they're all in on streaming.

But, it is not the same, if you want to play with your smartphone in the tv, you need hdmi, streaming has much lag.
Lg v30 support this feature.
Lg g7 is fantastic, but without this, it can not be comprared with galaxy s9, p20 pro, iphone x...

I'm experiencing the same issue on G7 Thinq and suspected the USB-C to HDMI cable. Is this really just not supported on the G7? They're trying to force us to use a streaming device by excluding this very basic and reliable functionality?

LG has disabled this feature by software.
As you can see in the attached screen, the smartphone detect a displayport adapter, but the tv out is disabled via software.
I have been researching into the kernel source, and I have discovered how they have disabled this feature, I have uploaded the hdmi_Kconfig file from LG v30, and Samsung Galaxy S9, both of them support HDMI out, and LG G7.
There you can see waht I have explained.
If it would have some developeres interested in this device, they could take back this feture to LG G7.
usb c to hdmi cable
When it comes to technology, I think I'm pretty up to date but I was a little behind the curve when it came to HDMI cords and cell phones. I absolutely love my Samsung S8+ and being able to watch videos that I have recorded, pictures I've taken on my television has opened me to a whole new world...... use easyacc usb c to hdmi cable watched movies from my Netflix app from my phone on the television screen. I'm stoked if you can't tell!!!

The feature is directly disabled in the kernel. While we have the kernel the source doesn't work.
So does this mean there is a way to enable this feature on the g7. I just updated from an iPhone and have no wifi where I play videos etc for my students. I had the adapter for the smart phone and bought one to fit the USB c but when I plug it in to the HDMI it only charges does not show the screen

Hello!
I am interested in enabling hdmi also.
Any news?
I'm offering a reward! ?
Hi guys, it must be rooted the phone for make the change in the kernel to activate the feature? Or there is an alternative way to enable it?
There is no way to enable it at the moment.
Snapdragon 845 have HDMI as option- vendor have to open HDMI with paid key (same as Windows Home to Windows Pro). Qualcom understand the power of money.
So it is a SW issue-but You can't just change n to y in kernel. It's a clear case for LG. Maybe they can offer a paid solution - but I doubt it.

It seems someone with g710ulm on v10i firmware has managed to connect with a TV using this lenovo usbc to DisplayPort adapter 4X90Q93303.
Can someone with this firmware confirm this? ???
