Urgent help needed - LG Nitro HD

I'm new to nitro hd p930.
I searched the forum but couldnot found the complete answers
A friend of mine gave me nitro hd p930 and it was already updated to ics 4.0.4 v20c.
I want to upgrade the bell version v20f, I tried to flash .img file through adb.
Everthing thing had gone fine but when I rebooted the phone it aws stucked on Lg logo. So it didnot b oot up.
I tried factory set volume down + Power( and twice powe key) , still stucked on Lg logo.
So i decided to go back to Ics leaked version .
Now my question is how to update to v20f in nitro hd p930
Note: This device is never unbricked .

You cannot flash img rom via adb shell on ics 4 because Bootloader is locked and this will brick your phone.
You should flash .kdz rom via lg flash tools softwares
Or flash .zip hono v20f cwm flashable , via clockworkmod recovery.
Use unbrick method and follow the instructions

If you want stock v20f only, you should be able to use the LG update tool.. if you want to install a custom recovery and flash other ROMs at will, you will need to follow one of the many unbrick guides here. If you go ahead and unbrick, there is a rooted CWM flashable v20f; and it would save you time if, later on down the road, you decide you want to try some of the custom roms.

Thanx for all ur help.
I'm now rooted in gingerbread and installed cwm. Pretty easy
Now one more help needed from u guyz. Can anyone help me to provide the link for v20f Cwm flashable in mediafire( I deleted the previous one and
The link provided by hono's dead)
And for return I promise to help u guyz by bringing mods in nitro hd like camera mod( My previous work was that I was sucessful to port Xperia gx camera on xperia s and thereby making camera quality more pronounced and detailed) and other mods related to smooth capacitive touch, smooth scrolling etc

I can't find the v20f flashable, but would this work?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030082
It's the stock files, which you can root. Says you lose CWM, but couldn't you just not flash recovery.img and preserve CWM?

I believe that has the locked bootloader so it's going to be a no go to get CWM to flash...

If the boot partitions from v20c and v20f are (pretty much) the same, would it be possible to use HONO's v20c (AT&T) boot.img in place of the boot.img listed in hereric's thread I linked to?

That might work but wouldn't it be just easier to flash the v20f cwm flashable made by Ho! No! Do a search for kernel palace and then click on the link called mirror.

Yes, that would most assuredly be easier. I was going under the assumption that the link for v20f was dead, as was mentioned in the thread...

the other ones on dev forums was actually ATT
btw i just want to make sure, is it stock ATT rom or STOCK BELL ROM?
The KDZ is for a Bell Optimus LTE.

Livid I tried your 10F KDZ file and after installing it comes up as Korean SKT rom rather than BELL. (SU640)
img files are for repartitioning so I am guessing it's same as the ones you find on "UNBRICK" thread.
I flashed my phone in download mode with your kzd file.
(at this point SU640 state)
rooted the phone
copied over img files
adb and ran "dd if=" command for all 5 img files
reboot
hardreset by pwr+vol down
It's an ATT rom
I think all the *.IMG files in your 4shared are from ATT nitro HD not BELL OPTIMUS LTE as everyone in this thread think

I tried both Livid and [email protected] IMG files.
They are identical both are dump from ATT nitro HD.
What OP and all others wanted was BELL OPTIMUS LTE DUMP.
update: those who are interested in Bell rom, you can head over to dev section and grab HoNo!'s Bell based rom. Don't try any of the roms posted here because they are all ATT anyways.

[Q] how to flash stock rom via cwm

I have found a couple of optimized stock ROM images on xda and on BBS Gran too, but when I flash it using the cwm method I am always stuck on lg optimus lte logo.
Every cm ROM that I flashed using cwm works fine. I am experiencing this problem with only stock ROMs. Any help ?
Have you ever unbricked the phone? For some reason the stock roms all require you to have ran through the unbrick process at some point unless that has changed recently.

I have CWM and can flash custom Roms , i dont think i need to unbrick any further... or maybe I am mistaken ?
it depends when you bought your phone and what updates you have, if you have an old gingerbread p930 that hasn't been updated you might not have to unbrick, i think ics and later and even some gingerbread phones have reported secure bootloader that won't let you boot into cwm, if you can boot into cwm you are fine, if you get a fast boot and a few other warnings when you try to boot into cwm then you have to unbrick. i think it might be harder to unbrick a phone that is getting the errors already but im not sure, it might be the same, i got the error on mine and i was able to unbrick.

I'm kind of in the same boat. Well maybe not the same boat, but I'm in one next to you. I've got CM10.1 and I absolutely hate the battery life. I'd like to go back to stock. I'm not sure though if I have to go through the unbricking process or just use CWM to flash the stock rom onto it.

if you like battery life, use the rom in my sig, i get 9-40 hours on a battery depending on how much the screen is on.
the rom is based of stock at&t ICS with bloatware removed, a few extras added and a lightningfast wind 3.1 kernel preinstalled

I installed the wind kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119976 and set the governor to smartassv2 based on someones suggestion here and it made a big difference for me. The battery life in CM10.1 went from absolutely dreadful to at least acceptable. Not as good as CM9, but I can live with it for now.

It's possible that it isn't necessary now, but I know that it used to be impossible to flash the stock ics based roms until you had gone through the unbrick process one time. The first time I remember seeing it was in this thread for ho!no!'s rom based on the leaked ics. I know for a fact that even though I had CWM installed and was using CM9 I was not able to install ho!no!'s stock rom until I went through the unbrick process.
KronicSkillz and SeriousGeorge I'll definitely be looking into this. Thanks

Black Screen after Jelly Bean update

When I update to Jellybean 4.2 on Houston's or CarbonRom I just get a black screen after a split second of the LG boot logo and won't boot. I've been using CWM 14.4.7 to flash the Rom's. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I can flash 4.1.2 ok just not 4.2. Any ideas?
What model do you have?
You have to downgrade to initial version of ICS and go from there. The newer ICS ota doesn't let you boot non stock roms.
LG Optimus G E971/3/5
I have an E973, I will try downgrading. Though I did manage to upgrade to 4.1.2

This is so important. 90% of problems I've read about were caused by this. How can we make this common knowledge?

Yeah it would be nice if it was mentioned in the developer area.
So do I have to go back to stock with the .tot file in the stock Roms thread or is there a flashable .zip somewhere? Seems the .zip files say custom stock rom from what I can see.

Go here and get the oldest ICS kdz and flash it: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?mod=Lg+Optimus+G&paese=Tutti&id_mod=20
You will need the KDZ updater which can be found in one of the guide threads here.
LG Optimus G E971/3/5
So i tried the KDZ method and just got stuck in a boot loop. Then I tried the tot method with LGNPST and same thing. My phone just hangs at the LG logo. What now? Followed the instructions to a T.
I got it, I went back and did the KDZ method a second time and then I found that if you hold down and power you get to do a hard reset. Did that and the clouds parted and the sun came through!
Update: Could't root because I couldn't find a kdz file old enough. So I used the LGNPST to do another restore and it worked this time. I did this to get me back to the LGE97310E so that I could get it to Root. Got the .tot file in this section of the forum.
I am in the same boat with my Telus E973. No matter what - black screen.
I reset the phone to the initial ICS (KDZ file from the link mentioned here.)
Got the phone to boot fine
Root
Unlock with FreeGee
Install latest CWM
Do a backup
From this point on I cannot install ANY custom ROM. Always black screen.
Phone boots fine after restoring of backup.
I have several phones and this LG is proving to be a little PITA.
Other ideas?
Which version of KDZ did you flash to get back to stock?

For KDZ the oldest Telus one I could find is 10g which as it turns out is too new! I ended up flashing 10e with LGNPST. All good now
Yeah that is the same thing I had to do. Couldn't find an old KDZ file anywhere for Telus.

There is no 973 10e available on that site. Oldest one is 10f which is already too new. This is why many people are so confused and the whole process is actually rather simple.

Whats the details on your phone?
Model/Carrier/Original Stock Firmware before any modding?
Have any of you tried using the following method?
"htt p://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEIHERE"
Replace IMEIHERE with the imei of your phone.
It will spit some url with the latest KDZ file. For example in my case, it's the H version. "htt p://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGE973/ABLMBK/E97320H_00/E97320H_00.kdz"
and I needed the F version. Playing with the url, I got it at "htt p://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGE973/ABLMBK/E97310F_00/E97310F_00.kdz"
---------- Post added at 05:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:05 PM ----------
I just saw the one for your phone from the website posted above by Elisha. The url is "htt p://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGE973/ATLSBK/E97310G_00/E97310G_00.kdz" -> by replacing the G to E I was able to get a file: "ht tp://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGE973/ATLSBK/E97310E_00/E97310E_00.kdz"
notice the TLS (Telus?) replacing the BLM (Im from bell mobility?) compared to my url posted before.

As stated above you're going to need to backdate to an earlier firmware version, where you are at H you need E version kdz file to get to ICS before going to 4.2.2 based builds...
Try what Iv4n35 said above in post 17 with your IMEI.
I will tell you how I flashed my E973 from Bell with the "[ROM] *Unofficial* AOKP 4.2.2 [Mar-13-13]" by Haze028 in case you need it any time.
This steps are gathered from all around this website so I take no credit at all.
Backup all your files, you might loose them in the process.
Downloaded the KDZ stock version that BELL shipped with LGOG (E97310f) htt p://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGE973/ABLMBK/E97310F_00/E97310F_00.kdz
Followed this instructions to flash the KDZ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34558759&postcount=1
Used this root kit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38014504&postcount=20 and instructions to root
Installed freegee, backed up EFS (just in case), extracted it from /sdcard/freegee to a safe place in my computer.
Run freegee, "Unlock my Optimus G", I chosed CWM
Downloaded the zip from http://d-h.st/M6N of a newer CWM recovery.
Downloaded the "Build 6" and "Gapps03-01-13" from the Download box from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36682883&postcount=1
Uploaded them to the internal sd card of my phone from my computer (total of 3 zip files: cwm recovery, rom and gapps).
Reboot in recovery mode (Vol Up + Power button)
"Install zip from sdcard", selected the newer CWM in my phone, reboot system in recovery mode again (the new CWM will show up)
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
"Install from zip" and select aokp-31313-geeb.zip (this is the Build 6)
"Install from zip" and select gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip (this are the Google apps).
Reboot system
Enjoy
Maybe there are some steps that didn't need to be done there, I'm actually new with flashing but it's what I understood I had to do. And in the end those steps worked perfectly for me.

3: if it wont boot, wipe again and after it boots, root it and put cwm.

E988 users, have you managed to flash a custom ROM?

I've observed that quite a few people with the model number E988 have been having trouble in the modding(?) process. Mostly from due to unlocking and flashing a custom recovery via FreeGee (no offense intended to the maker of FreeGee)
So out of curiosity, before I have to unecessarily attempt the dreadful Recovery process again, have any of you guys managed to flash a custom ROM on your E988? If so, how?
(sorry mods if this is in the wrong forum).
I have flashed and used almost all the roms available in the original dev section.......no problems what so ever...... only one rom was problematic....... that is the PA port........ though not mandatory, keep the modem zip handy.......

Install cwm and disable lg security via freegee...and install rom without flashing modem is ok...working..only change apn..
But you can't back to stock rom without flashing kdz..
Once you reboot you can install rom via cwm but can not enter stock rom...

FreeGee works fine on E988. I own one (Indian variant) and I can vouch for it. All you have to do is select "No" on the disable LG security option. CWM will get installed just fine. And since the FreeGee recovery is lokified, you are good to go for any rom including 4.3 ones. Like I said in my previous reply, I have used almost all the roms available in the Original DEV section. Only the PA port causes issues with the signal reception. Rest all work fine. If you are facing problems, be specific and I will try to help.....

Can you describe the steps of using the FreeGee app? And what stock firmware should I use with the freegee app. Should I flash stock Jellybean, root and the install FreeGee?
