as the title says the recovery wont boot using rom manager
it will either
1.) reboot loop 3 or 4 time before restarting or
2.) go to a screen with the android ad an exclamation mark in a triangle
i also can not manually boot it into recovery by holding home+ power
any advice is greatly appreciated
ps im a little noobie ish
press the HOME + POWER...
Once you on the "exclamation mark in a triangle" screen press the HOME + POWER key to get the recovery menu. As far I know this means something about the ROM signature not being there or something.. I'm just learning myself, but I have been there before... so you just need to restore the backup image and you should be back to normal. Good luck.
I'm unable to apply a custom ROM myself... everything works but a custom ROM... can't figure it out yet.

You need to be a bit more clear as to what you mean. What does "page appear" means? Do you mean you can get into recovery but can not do anything there, like choosing an option there? or you can't even get into recovery?
If you can get into recovery, how do you choose options? You need to use volume up/down buttons to navigate and home button to select an option.
If you can not get into recovery, Take your sd card off, and try again. I somehow had an issue where I can't get into recovery due to a problem with my sdcard. But once I took it out, I was able to get into recovery.
Hope you can solve your problem.

I can get into the page recovery and i can use the volume up/down buttons to navigate but i select an option and touch the left botton and apears a simbol. that image stay on the phone until i touch again the left botton or the power botton and i go again to menu recovery. the text in the recovery menu is blue and i remenber that to chose an option there the text was in yellow. To live recovery menu i have to take the battery out. More or less the samething in download mode. the page apeares but i touch up to go download mode nothing apens or down to leave this mode and nothing apens again. i only can leave by taking out the battery.
I already tried that of taking the sd card off but that don't solve the problem.

what do you mean by the "left button" you mean the "menu" capacitive button? What happens when you select an option with the "home" button?

yes, i mean the capacitive button. when a touch the home button nothing appens. but i know that i should touch the left capacitive button to start the option that i chose in the recovery button. when for exemple i chose option "reboot now" after i touch the left capacitive button apears in screen still image with a "hat and circle arrow" nothing more appens then if i touch the left button or the power button i go to recovery menu again. to leave this state i have to take off the batery.

Ok I am confused about the buttons you use.
Just go up and down by volume up and down buttons. Once you are where you want to be, hit the home button ( middle hardware button, not the capacitive buttons) That should do it. If it still does not work, you may consider flashing recovery again.

I still am thinking you are hitting the wrong buttons.. Attached is the pic to show which buttons to hit. If you still can not work it, you can flash the recovery again (See Below)
You can always flash recovery and don't need to be in recovery to do so... For a guide please go here and follow the step described in step 2. If you are not familiar with terminal emulator and/or you dont have busybox installed, you can follow here to use adb to flash recovery.
Hope this helps.
I am still not sure what your problem is...Good luck.

Greetings XDA Developers,
Newbie here. I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (SM T705). I was able to root it a few weeks ago and I decided to install a custom recovery (TWRP) using an app from the Playstore named "TWRP Manager". I didn't hesitate to do so using this method because I was able to install TWRP on my GT I9300 successfully from the past using this app. However, after being prompted by the app that the recovery was successfully installed and needs to reboot the device, my tab was stuck on start up screen ( See attached photo ). I tried long pressing the power button but nothing happened. I waited until the device ran out of battery and when it did, I plugged in the charger and I'm back at the same screen. After google-ing some possible solutions, I tried to boot it into recovery but was unsuccessful, however, I was able to boot into download mode.
I'd like to ask for the help of some "experienced" users in this forum on how to solve this problem. And if possible, I'm hoping that flashing a stock recovery using Odin wouldn't be my last resort.
Thank you in advance.

Your going to need some fast hands for this one! I've ran into this lots of times when testing kernels and such. Any force reboot by holding Power Button+ Home Button + BOTH Volume buttons all at the same time. Press and hold that combo until the screen goes black. Then once the screen goes black quickly press and hold Power Button+ Home Button + Volume down buttons all at the same time. You should no enter into download mode. You said that you drained the battery so I would suggest charging it in download mode for 30 minutes or so then flash TWRP with Odin.
Your going to need to flash stock recovery or TWRP with Odin to override the boot and get it working
The TWRP app doesn't always work in which is why I use Odin.

As a side note for future reference, hard reset is simply hold POWER + VOL DOWN.
As said all you need do is boot to download mode and flash recovery.
If you're on lollipop you may need to immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. But how exactly do I "immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick." Since after I flash recovery via odin, it would obviously automatically reboot my device? sorry for the dumb question.

You either be quick and hold POWER + HOME + VOL UP as soon as it reboots or you uncheck auto reboot in Odin then restart manually.

So did the solution work? I am looking at a SM-T705 on ebay being sold for parts with similar symptoms. hoping I can fix it for a great bargain.
Right out of the RetailBox (with stockRom) I couldn't reboot into recovery using the "VolumeUp+Home+PowerButton" step...
Even now after installing a custom rom and twrp recovery I can't do the hardbutton action ("VolumeUp+Home+PowerButton") to get into the "recovery"
so whats the hiccup here? someone plz

I just flashed a root... and then downloaded twrp through playstore and always rebooted with Newstart chosing reboot into recovery.... so it was fine till now..
now though, after installing IronRom .zip through twrp, it won't reboot anymore, it is stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy Tab S powered by android" starting screen.
Now I want to simply to the hardbutton reboot into recovery step, since i cant access it otherwise... but it doesn't react.

But once one is stuck somewhere and can't get to the system level (like boot loop or whatnot) it would be great to enter the recovery anyway... thx

You can enter recovery any time you want, you just need to do it right.
Hold POWER + HOME + VOL DOWN until the screen goes blank then immediately change to VOL UP whilst still holding the other buttons until recovery boots.

Holy Damn... thanks a lot!!!! that was really bugging me. I never found anything apart from just holding home+power+volumeup
I just tried this after trying other button combinations found on the web to try to get it to hard reset but nothing happens with my Tab S...it still stays stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S startup screen. Any suggestions as to why that is?

Just signed in to say thanks for this, but for some reason I had to do it slightly differently. I was on stock 5.0.2 and trying to boot into recovery (Power+Volume UP+Home would start Samsung splash screens and then go black without ever booting into Recovery) so my solution was:
Shutdown Tab S, then hold down Power+Volume DOWN+Home (as though to get into Download mode) and then immediately after pressing that initially, I pressed Volume UP while still holding Power+Home.
Problem solved.

Reinstall the firmware via ODIN
My j3 emerge says error..invalid boot loop image header can't get fed download mode help please
When and how was this method introduced?
It worked, so many thanks.
Just a bit convoluted... issh...
Is it a twrp thing? Almost a bit like a GitarChord
very thanksful it worked though
Unlocked phone's bootloader and flashed the latest TWRP, downloaded straight from their site and md5 checked.
If I try to enter TWRP from fastboot, it enters fines but the shortcut just doesn't. If you can't enter twrp from the shortcut, then your basically screwed if you brick it..
I even tried flashing twrp all over again, and still have the sample problem.
So how can I fix this?
i have the same problem, plus the fact that i had error during flashing new rom and now i can't even go back to stock, cause my PC doesn't recognize phone in download mode. Any fixes?

If u have root u can use an app called Flashify download from playstore go to recovery by using this app n The regular way to go Volume up and power button delete all select yes confirm yes u go into TWRP
Use Flashify or while you're in recovery flash again the recovery use the "Flash Image" option. And now you'll have permanent recovery
i found a solution, when your phone is off press volume down + power until lg logo appears, then release power (keep holding wolume down) and press power again. Then double yes and boom TWRP
