I understand the limitations but I've seen phones such as the incredible one with the Evo and the G1 with its magic and hero counterparts.
Anyone care to give an explanaition?
Im asking this because since the vivo got their share of ics, why can't we at least port it and losing all the radios if that's what's causing the trouble And I doubt its the bootloader because we have S-Off.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
Take a look at this Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745483). It's a port from vivo for their ics update and this Rom is a port from a different base but still ics (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953899)
Oh so I was wrong
I actually like the viper ROM
But my question came about because we have no sources while the vivo guys do

I still have the original zip. Send me a PM and I'll send it to you tomorrow when I get to work.
Besides some nice theming, I don't think this rom was better than the uber, super, warm, nil's versions we have already got in our forums.

he doesnt have an inc2, and picked up a bolt and joined team bamf
could he work on stuff remotely? sure...but i havent seen any indication of him wanting to do so while working on 2 other phones
I'm sure anything he does can easily be ported over. Pretty sure thunderbolt is very similar to Inc 2

I'm saddened by this, since I ran SR on my Incredible pretty much the entire year I had it. Now I have the Incredible 2 and while I really liked SR, the stuff coming from RMK is nice. Looking forward to trying Virtuous when it is released.
once we have s-off, times_infinity and myself are gonna work on porting one of the BAMF roms over from the tbolt with adrynalyne and TDB's help
of course whatever BAMF we are able to do can't be posted on xda though
y not?

hey question. miui has a rom for the dinc s but i read somewhere that the incredible s is the international version of the incredible 2 so would i be able to flash this?
Yes it's the international version but I believe it has a different radio in it so it may not work in the Inc2. Why do you want to flash this ROM instead of the Miui ROM that's out for the Inc2?

Is there any real reason why Verizon or HTC (I'm not sure which one is mainly in charge of updating) has been somewhat neglecting the dinc 2? I mean it was announced that we'd have the update by August of 2012.. and it's February. Is there a possibility that we just wouldn't get the ics update at all?

For everyone saying that it's HTC fault, HTC turned over the ICS update to Verizon back in mid-August. So just wanted to make sure everyone was upset with the right people. It's not HTC it is indeed Verizon

Verizon gave it back to HTC, according to Verizon anyway. They both are at fault here.

The Thunderbolt could be crapping out unicorns and fellating the masses...it doesn't mean the Inc2 is getting the ICS update. When the Inc2 gets the ICS update. that's when the Inc2 will be getting the ICS update.

Yep. The reason so many of the ics/jb roms struggle is lack of source. All of the aosp based roms are still working off hacked gingerbread kernels. Our devs have done great work considering, but they just don't have the tools needed to get everything exactly right. That's why you see so many issues with cameras and blue tooth, amongst others. Few want the bloat, but once source hits tomorrow, we can start getting more functional roms with it.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app

Yes, you are correct...the source will coming tomorrow after we hate the source and the phone itself.
So the devas have just been taking the gingerbread kernel and modifying it to make it run jb. But with a ICS kernel they will have less stuff to jerry rig increasing performance and functionality. Now I see why we're waiting for tomorrow.
