Album Art appears in Gallery - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey wassup guys, does anyone know how to get album covers to not appear in my gallery of photos on a stock JB not rooted Note 2? Any suggestions?

I had to delete all mine, then use cover art app to get them back.

Use an id tag editor to include the cover in the songs themselves and delete the cover from the folders. That goes for all songs and all folders.

Add a 0 byte file named .nomedia to the folder (s) you don't want scanned.

i finally gave up and just downloaded another gallery app that allowed me to hide folders so every folder with album are i jut hid. .nomedia will also cause the media(music) in that folder to not be scanned so be careful with that one.

[LOOKING FOR APP] Only enable media scanning on selected folders

Hi!
Dedicate Android media scanning only to selected folders, for example "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/Music/"... is there an app for that?
greetings
Good idea, we need such a thing. Scanning of large space is really a long lasting thing.
I looked once on the market and found something like that, but i don;t remember the name. I use the .nomedia method. In each folder you want to be avoided scan, create an empty file with the name .nomedia; that's all
Just create a file named ".nomedia" in the folders you want to skip ;-)

I guess this question is sort of related to this so I'll ask it here. In Gallery is there any way that anyone knows of to NOT display every single folder that has an image in it? It's a little annoying going to the gallery and having folders for music album folders, certain apps, themes etc. I just want to see what in my DCIM folder and sub folders

In the folder you wish to hide, create a .nomedia file in it. That will hide the folder from appearing in gallery.
So I have root explorer, but where do I go to to delete Gallery?

I do that and it tells me,
"Gallery3D.apk cannot be deleted because the files system is read only."
I am running Random Rom Osprey, with EG22.

Lock Gallery

What do you guys use for locking several files or folders,
for example I dont want porn to show up in my gallery with the other videos,
anything free??
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Try Kii safe free. Otherwise, create a file named ".nomedia" in the folders you want to be ignored by the media scanner.
And alternatively, you can just not have porn on your smartphone...i mean, come on dude : do you realize that google knows all about it now?
You'll be getting personalized ads soon, lol
create a file with its name is .nomedia
and put it in folder you want media scanner to exclude..
Thanks guys.
but really porn look awsome on SGS

You could also create a folder like this:
.pron
Then move your files into the folder.

And/or (if you have it set up to sync) you can control it in Picasa. But that is dependent upon having sync turned on, it is after-the-fact and requires a computer/regular internet, and does not "re-route" new pictures from the "Camera" folder.

Sometimes when I do this, especially when I move pictures around existing albums it doesn't refresh immediately. Any way to force a rescan of the media? Deleting the cache does not seem to always work

Try that to manually rescan the media. It works....sometimes. heh.

[Q] Is it possible to change scanned folders for the Gallery app?

I'm not finding any way to make adjustments and looks like the app picks up anything with an image. For example, I see some albums showing up in the folders because of cover art
Add a file named .nomedia to that folder and refresh the Gallery. It should disappear.
