This is a Sprint phone, which I want to unlock and use it in the US on ATT. I got the unlock code. According to most posts I found on the Internet, I should put in the SIM card and power on, and then there should be a prompt asking me for the unlock code. However, I don't see that prompt when I do that. Does anybody knows the answer here? Your help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. This phone has a sim slot. It's a GSM/CDMA hybrid. I've put in ATT sim card and when I power on, nothing shows up asking me for the unlock code. I can't find it in any of the settings menus. Does anyone know how to unlock this phone?
Again, you're in the wrong forum, the Supersonic has no sim card
You'll get better answers if you ask in the Design forums

Cdma gsm hybrid phones arent designed to be used on US carriers GSM bands only international bands. The US frequency block is software locked so you would have to hack the radio for it to work
I like to break stuff!
I would like to understand this too. What is the software that I need to change if I want to use a tmobile sim on this phone? Will it be the same process if I port to cricket (CDMA).
There is no HTC design forum or I would post this question there.
Thanks!

Hi! this is my first time posting on this forum.
I want to unlock my SGS2 Epic 4G Touch from Sprint but I can't seem to be able to do it.
I was able to root it and have Superuser access, I downloaded Chainfire's app from the Android Market and ran it, but it says the system couldn't find the unlock code.... don't really know how to move forward from there...
Also, this is the Gingerbread EL29... and doesn't have an IMEI but rather a MEID which makes it harder for me to find an app to unlock it...
Any help please?????

My friend "unlocked" please expound further on what you are trying to do. We dont have to unlock our phones. Now are you trying to get your MSL code?
Edit: Also everything you need to know about this phone is either in the wiki or a sticky on the development page.
I have it locked for Sprint use only, but I wanna be able to use another carrier... I'm not sure abotu what I need... I already rooted the phone, I know I need a code to be able to unlock it... but I'm unable to get it. for some reason

"Unlocking" is only for GSM phones with a "SIM". Since you have almost certainly opened the backplate of the device, did you see a SIM slot?
No?
Oh, yeah, that's because the Epic Touch is a CDMA device.
You cannot "unlock" the GSM telephony, if there is not one to begin with.
You should be looking for APN settings for your carrier and a way to input them.
And, do some research, because it doesn't seem that you are at a required level of knowledge, of the system you are messing with, to even be attempting it.

CDMA carrier
type of radios in the phone. One cannot be used on another.
Maybe tell us who the provider is you're hoping to switch to and someone else can maybe look it up.
If your provider is GSM and you bought a CDMA phone, you're seriously out of luck.

There is no such thing as an unlock code for a CDMA device, unfortunately for you.
In the US, if you find a CDMA carrier that is willing to activate a CDMA phone that wasn't originally designed for their network, you would have to give them the phone's ESN number (found behind your battery). They would add it to their network, which would allow them to activate your phone on their network. They may also require your IMEI, which is the same thing as the MEID. You can get this from the same sticker, or dial *#06# on your keypad.
You will have to contact the carrier you intend to use the phone on and see if this is possible. I know somebody who did this when their work sent them to China for two years.

My Galaxy SPH-D710 was purchased in Michigan through Boost. I just moved to Maine where there is no boost, and U.S. Cellular unkindly rules. This project is on my level but I ran into an issue I hope to fix tonight after 5 days of code manipulation. Ok, so here's the story.
Obviously my phone will not connect to a carrier, and no service tower to make things harrier XD. So amongst the edits and flashing, I lost my MSL. Come to find out, here is why: U.S. Cellular accepted my device on their network. It was simple, just said it was an sch-r760, they put in my ESN/MEID Dex and viola, accepted. Ok, here's the kicker (not as nice of a kicker as is in my trunk if you catch my drift)... APNs are locked as you well know. The question is, where the crap did my MSL go? Boost was going to give it to me but since I've been out of service for months and I flashed with no tower near, ALLLLLL DATA ASSOCIATES WITH MY ACCT is just gone. Phone records, MSL, even device specs.
My question... when I get to a tower, I will have to activate back on Boost to get their system to issue me an MSL to then be able to add U.S. Cellular APN settings after receiving my unlock code... OR since its also ATT, and Boost and U.S. Cellular both use ATT towers to roam around here... Will I receive my U.S. Cel access? I have already Paid my U.S. Cell activation and monthly charges. I couldn't have paid if my phone wasnt accepted. Even US Cellular said this. I'm betting I get on Boost network, then have to diag MSL add APN since I cannot edit and stick without MSL. Oi... What I do know, is I will prevail, I never fail! When I do, I will write an impenetrable Tutorial and circulate it to U.S. Cellulars demise

i don't think its possible to unlock cdma, other than flashing to page plus, but the reason why gsm is so easy to unlock is because you insert a different network card into ur 3G sim card slot, and u type in your network code when it asks,,,,,cdma(phones that don't take sim cards) are flashed to that carrier firmware wised which means you would go through alot just to reflash to another carrier.try flash to pageplus, that will cost money, but dirt cheap as low as $7
what's meant by unlocking and do i have to unlock my phone if i get it from another country just to use the GSM network of my country

First you need a sim from another network provider. Once you have it put it in then enter the pin you got given. Its now unlocked. Lastly some networks do work with others so to check if you have an unlocked network already go into call settings and network service (may be called something different on your phone depending on current network) unlocked networks appear with a home sign/any sign that isnt a red cross (again depending on network) or go to a place that unlocks phones. Simplez.

The process seems simple enough, but from where would I obtain the PIN? I know there are various websites and whatnot, but is there one that people have used in the past with success? I just want to be sure, because I'm looking at buying a used Galaxy W, but don't want to be stuck with it locked on Bell..

The pin will come on the paper the sim comes with. If you buy it off a contract it will be unlocked for you as long as you only use the network providers sim that you got the contract off.

Alright, I got my Rogers SIM card last year, but I don't know where any of the packaging currently resides. But if I call rogers, they should be able to provide me with this information?
Sorry, it just seems counter intuitive that information with my sim card would unlock a newer, off carrier phone.

You might (only might) get the pin off them. There should be a default pin set for every sim at the start. All sims coming from the same mobile network provider have one pin.

I need some help. At&t won't unlock the Sim claiming "exclusivity" although this device is released by every provider known to man. Anyways, the voodoo sim unlock app for the international S3 is not compatible yet for the At&t 747. What should I do? I need to use straight talk and would like to be able to use t mobiles network. Should I return it or wing it? Anyone been in this position before? Does anyone have any info on whether voodoo app developer can or is working on building an unlock app for US versions?

Hey when I enter the *# code to see if my ATT GS3 is locked I don't get that screen that pops up on the vid showing its locked. How can I tell the phone is locked to ATT?

U check by putting a non att sim in. It will ask for unlock code. You dial *#06# to bring up your phones IMEI number not to check if its locked.

Ummm... Straight Talk uses AT&T's network. You don't need to unlock the phone to use it with them.
Edit: you're using it with ST's T-Mo sim? Why?
root it, then go here. id stay away from direct patching, but it shouldnt harm by plugging it in, reading the nvram.bin and generating a code

I was wondering the same thing. I thought I read you could use either an Att phone or a TMO phone on straight talk with their sims. Also in the TMO GS2 threads there are people saying they didn't even need an unlock code to use the GS2 on straight talk. I've never used Att or TMO but I'm taking a close look at straight talk. In general is it true Att has better coverage than TMO? I know they are both better than Sprint.

Same here.
There's differences in coverage. T mobile more hspa speed 6-7 mb/s, at&t 2-4 mb/s. At&t has more coverage overall coverage tho.

But the AT&T version can't run on T-Mobile's bands. Nobody even knows if it will eventually be able to, either. Until then, you're not even going to get 3G
Well, bought the unlock code from cellunlocker instead, well see how it goes.I want to use the att version on the Rogers network.
Got the unlock code works fine, now using the att cersion on rogers's 4G network !
Thanks for the info on the two networks. I am thinking about waiting for the next GSM unlocked Nexus phone and running that on a prepaid plan that uses TMO or ATT's network. Hopefully we'll see one before the holidays.
This might seem like an odd question but I was poking around my note 4 today and i'm noticing something interesting within the settings. If you go into Settings> More Networks> Mobile Networks you can see a small list if mobile network options. If you select Network Mode, you can see it has GSM/UMTS as an option to select. Going back you can also see within that small list of network options a grayed out setting "Network Operators." This leads me to question, is this phone capable of being used on both GSM and CDMA? If not with factory Sprint settings, possibly something the hardware is able to do unlocked? I just find it interesting that the device offers different network options than the standard CDMA/LTE that I am used to only seeing on and once more there is no carrier branding on the device at all outside of the initial splash screen upon start-up.
What do you guys think?
Before my sprint note 4 was activated, in the apn settings,i was able to edit it as there was nothing in there. Once I had activated the phone it showed the sprint one and had became grayed out being uneditable.

So me being the sly little devil that i am, decided to check my apn's on my phone which turns out, THAT THEY ARE EDITABLE!!!!. So i can know assume that the phone may come factory unlocked and that we should add another carriers apns and sim card to try it out. I believe this is the reason why the phones dont have the carrier branding on them, because they are proprietary to samsung before activation, and then that carrier adds the signed/encrypted packages to the phone. So, with that said.... I NEVER ACTIVATED MY NOTE 4. i SWITCHED BACK TO MY NOTE 3 AFTER I PURCHASED THE PHONE. you can always ##786# and enter your MSL to reset the device if you think sprints programming is the thing messing it up, however it really does wipe the device.

I can see att and tmobile network, but i did some browsing in the build.prop file and discovered that there is a setting that says uses sprint sim card only. So It turns out that sprint used the same lock method as the note 3 on this. So now im trying some other things, going to look into a jtag and solder directly to the chip to read files and write them, so i can find out whats really going on with this unlock behind the scenes

Did you guys ever get yours unlocked

One guy told me that i would have to get Sprint to do a international ulock and that will unlock the sim but the phone has to be active on sprint's network for them to do it

ask sprint to do a " international sim unlock" now because you are going overseas for vacation . they will not do it if you dont just to go to another carrier but thats what I found out after they do that then the phone can be used with another carrier. that is what I didn't do and now they said I would have to get their service two year contract and keep it for 3 months and then they will unlock sim pay early termination fee goodluck

The sim inside the sprint note 4 is only to access the LTE network. So since you took the sprint sim out, you would be only receiving 3g. That is why you are receiving the invalid sim card error, because its not using it.

So I am getting that error because the SIM card is not using LTE? I don't get it. If the phone is unlocked, shouldn't it ask for an unlock code?

There's been plenty of discussion in this forum about bringing SM-N910P to other networks. I'm no expert, haven't done it myself but what I read repeatedly posted is that radios in this version did not allow LTE on domestic carriers when unlocked. Seems a common issue with phones made for CDMA carriers; taking them to another carrier may not meet your expectations. If the limitations are acceptable, maybe you consider going ahead and weigh your options.
Again, there's plenty of threads in this forum discussing this but here's one that I found that may help. To me, it's been rare for @idone to post these days but he posted here.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I am aware that the Sprint Note 4 would give me 3G or H+ but not LTE which is fine by me. I was wondering why the phone did not ask me for the Unlock code to begin with when I threw a GSM card in there.

Did you find your answer? Or still asking?
It's likely Sprint will give you a MSL number but not unlock the phone to use on domestic carriers. I think you still need to unlock it for that purpose. But the developer I referred you to can do this with or without the MSL. His tools are capable; his service is a full unlock for domestic. I don't think you need the unlock for carriers outside the U.S. the way the phone is currently. Sprint may clear a phone for domestic carrier use but not unlock it or help you activate it. You'll likely find no carrier to help you unlock it either.
I'm sure there are ways to do it yourself but it's gotten more complex with Lollipop and Marshmallow. I'm just not sure how it's done because I haven't fully done it. Only walked through it partially back in KitKat but kept Sprint SIM and service. Didn't try another SIM card.

No I'm still looking for an answer. I have messaged idone on their website and sent a PM. I need this unlocked and take it to H2O. Sprint gave me the MSL code to be given to a GSM carrier but I call BS on that. Strange thing is the damn phone recognizes the AT&T SIM card as a 3G card all right but still says "Invalid SIM Card".

No expert here, but dont you need an AT&T SIM card that has your phone unique ID info programmed into it so it registers on AT&Ts network?
I thought the MSL would just unlock an area in the phone where you would change DNS type info to AT&T's towers/network.
