So does this OTA make flashing future ROMs impossible? Like with that boot loop problem?

Hi Guys,
I am new to flashing android and need some serious help. Currently i am in Stock firmware and bootloader unlocked and rooted.
I tried flashing custom rom , AOKP and other roms , the roms are getting installed fine but it goes to the boot loop the phone.
So what should i do to get a stable running JB Build .. There are far too many post in this forum , i cant corner a place to start. May be you can guide me.
I read one topicc about installing the RUU and downgrading the radio , can i do that ?.. Will downgrading the radio have any effects on battery life ?
Please assist

Read more on the stock ruu / radio. That is the answer.

unrevoked vs other root methodes?

ok i have searched and lurked and nothing really explains this
1)how or why is one better than the other?
2)Does any keep the latest PRI? Before bust out the flame throwers i beleave i know the answer but someone on another forum is trying to convince people that lates unrevoked keeps pri.
3)I am already rooted (simpleroot)and using fresh 3.1.0.1 and loving it but would anyone have a better running system if they used a different method and why?
1) Using the engineering boatloader is the best ATM. It allows access to everything.
2) I believe Unrevoked would keep PRI, but if you have ever used the engineering boatloader you can't get it back to the latest (at least not yet).
3) Nope.
Edit: Also, post in Q&A next time, it'll save mods the trouble of moving the thread.
sorry forgot about Q&A
i used simple then loaded eng bootloader myself

HTC Desire

Good Afternoon
People, I have a question, I have a HTC Desire Radio U_55.05.27, had BOOT 1.2, the HTC is root, S-OFF and I reset the factory as the original kernel version of HTC and the original of Gingerbread 2.3.3
It can be done?

Sorry mate, I was just trolling. I don't quite understand what you need help with, can you explain further?
Do you mean whether you can restore it to stock HTC 2.3 Gingerbread? if that's what you mean then yes, just go on htcdev.com and download the 2.3 RUU, then plug your phone in via usb and run the program you downloaded.
Thank you for responding
The problem is that I did, but stayed in background
HTC logo white with green and not go there, I have to
to take the battery off.
hmm that's a common problem.
This is just a hunch, but when I was updating to the latest version of HTC Sync, it mentioned something about being able to repair the phone if it's stuck in the HTC screen, you could give it a try. I don't know maybe I read it wrong, I tried to google it but I didn't find anything.

Can anyone Help??? I think my One X is Bricked

Can anyone help? My friend tried flashing, now my screen looks like this:

Is this soft or hard bricked? is there anyway to revive? Will flashing RUU fix this?
appreciate if anyone can help
My friend actually got it upto this point...
this isn't even bricked... he just unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom recovery, with that HBOOT you can install any ICS rom out there.... i would suggest to upgrade the HBOOT to 1.31 so you can enjoy the latest JB roms
Hi vtrom
Nothing to worry about, you are very close to flashing a custom ROM. I would advise sticking with the ICS ROMs to begin with and become happy with flashing different roms first.
What I would do now is make a backup - that is via the blue screen in the second screenshot.
Then look in the development areas and choose a rom of your choice, follow the instructions from the original poster to the rom.
one thing when doing so, do not rush.
Good Luck
Ok. Ill see if we can succeed. was worried phone is unsalvageable already
can I install custom ROM even if S-ON? or do I need to S-off the One X?
Or how can I at least bring it back to original rom?
Yeahp you can install custom ROMs with S-ON ... All you need is to unlock your bootloader , flash custom recovery and root . And you can't S-Off HTC One X , well for now I guess maybe never too ...
You can return to stock with this video
There's no need to post it twice !!

Just an FYI - this is the HTC One M8 Windows forum...so expect the mods to come after you with a vengeance...lol. I'd re-post this question in the Android group, or ask the moderator to move it. There's a few different Android forums depending on what network you're on too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/
I'm guessing there was an update in-between the one you're trying to install and what you currently have, and for some reason, your phone is skipping it...but that's just a guess. My only recommendation is try re-flashing a stock rom on it (FYI - it'll wipe data off internal storage, so hope you have a backup of your contacts/photos/etc. before attempting this):

Agree that the error message indicates its looking for a newer build, and not finding it.
To the OP, did you manually put the update file on the phone; or did you download it the "usual" way when notified or by checking for an update in Settings?
What hboot number? What stock ROM (software number) did you put on the phone?
