hi peeps...
i have my note 2 n7100.. love it..
i have a question that will seem strange and stupid for most but its a serious issue for me...
i use the google calendar on my note 2, not the samsung app.... and everytime i change my starting week day to MONDAY after a couple of hours it changes to SUNDAY... i have my regional setting in the google calendar set to Zagreb +1 (time zone), Croatia... but still, it always changes to sunday which is very frustrating 4 me...
anyone? tnx in advance
anyone?
I don't use it but you may have to change it online first then change it in your phone.

Hello everyone I am new here. Just bought my desired Desire yesterday.
I think there is something wrong with the HTC calendar widget. I have 3 all day events: on the 16th, 17th and 18th and the smallest widget on the homescreen shows the one from the 17th not the 16th... what am I doing wrong?
Thank you,
BTW can you not love this phone?
Can someone try it on their device and tell me if it screws up the order too?

Did you ever fix this problem? I'm having a similar issue in that I have an event on the 24th, and one from the 25th to the 11th, and for a while it was showing the one on the 24th, but now it shows the one starting on the 25th. Apparently there's other calendar widgets on the market so I might try one of those instead.

I have this very seldomly. Workaround for me: Uncheck the appointment as "all day appointment". Save. Enter Calendar again and mark it as "all day". Like i said it only happened a few times but this one helped.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked and actually neither of my events were 'all day' anyway. The later one spans multiple days but has a defined start and end time. I tried making it 'all day' and changing it back but it didn't have an effect. Hopefully after these events pass it'll sort itself out. And in any case I might try the Pure Calendar widget (though since it isn't free I'll need to work out how to pay for stuff on market, it'll probably be obvious - they don't tend to make it difficult for you to part with your cash ).
Hi,
I can confirm this annoying behavior, and that the suggested solution works in most cases. I had to delete and re-create the event a few times to get it to work though.
Maybe this should be reported to the HTC Sense team as a bug report? Does anyone know the procedure to do this?
Best wishes,
Tobias
Try Gemini calendar and its own widget. It is free on the market.

Hi,
does anyone know if this is fixed in Froyo, or could anyone check it out?
Unfortunately, the issue also seems to happen on events that are not spanning multiple days at all and that is really annoying, so that the widget becomes kind of unusable.
Thanks!
Hey guys,
So, you know that official Facebook app is supposed to have push notifications, right? Yeah? Well, it apparently does, they just never worked for me at all. Turns out, there's a fix, and it's quite the strange one - you have to sign into the Facebook app on a Blackberry. Once you've done that, you'll start getting push notifications for wall posts, comments, and event invites, with an entirely new notification icon. Weird, no?
Of course, it's not like I had a recent BB device just lying around.. Thankfully, the Blackberry emulator software works just fine for our purposes. I've written up a guide for the curious, with links to the emulator software and so forth.
Seems the fix was found in May over at AndroidCentral, but I'd certainly not seen it posted anywhere I frequent, and had to spend some time searching for a fix to stumble across the post - hence this topic.
Let me know if it works for you.
Really interesting, I'd like to try and see!

Cheers - Weird, isn't it? I'm planning to make a walkthrough video later on today, unfortunately my Galaxy S II's camera is the best I have, so I'll need to convince the girlfriend to let me tinker with her Nexus One to show how it's done.. We'll see if she lets me.
This trick worked for me.
I've always had that notification icon (little sign-post looking thing), and have never signed in on a Blackberry, so I guess mine have always worked for some reason.
Interesting, have you got anything else of note authorised on your Facebook account?

What do you mean by 'private messages'? Facebook chat/messenger? This works for wall posts, comments, and event invites, not messages - that's what the separate Facebook Messenger app is for.
Worked 100 percent for me. Thanks

Then I might have said something stupid, I'll keep you updated.
One observation tho, in your guide you say that it's possible, once you enable this, to deactivate the periodic check, since you get push notifications. I agreed and removed it. If push doesn't "push" private messages tho, I guess that I'll have to re-enable the periodic checks, since that checks private messages received too.
Would you be able to do this for us, if we give you our Facebook credentials? (big big sign of trust I know )

Update, it works
Altho I wish it would push private messages too, so that I could remove the periodic update of 30 min
Works perfect! Thank you sooo much!
[Don't forget to activate notifications in BB-App, like I did first ]

I guess I could if you really wanted. Do you not have access to a Windows PC to use the emulator?

Ooh, that might help. I'm pretty sure they were enabled by default when I tried it, was that not the case for you? Anyone else have the same experience? Happy to update the guide if need be.

Private messages get pushed to me and have done so for the past 2 months, something must be up on your end. Make sure you've turned on notifications for messages in the FB app, if that doesn't work then I'm out of ideas mate
Could you send me your Database files in /data/data/com.facebook.katana/databases after cleaning them from any private information ( I'm particularly interested in the key_value database ).
I'm wondering if there's any way we can activate it without this long process, so I wanna compare settings from a push activated device and a not push activated one.
So why do you think this wasn't implemented in the app itself?
Is it because its buggy or a battery drainer?
Or is it because Apple and RIM pay royalties to Facebook to have the better features?
Thanks man ... working like a charm here.
I have always got fb notifications without having to do any of this.

worked a treat for me, nolonger need Fb to check every hour so less battery drain
I've come from owning an EVO 3D and the email client on that phone was second to none it did exactly what i needed out of an email client.
I've tried every single email client out there and notthing comes close to it besides the stock email client on JB but even that is lack luster if terms of features.
K-9 - won't work with exchange 2010
EE - works great to a point but with Push email on my phone heats up and drains my battery in like 5 hours, and i need instant email.
TD - Won't allow me to use 2 profiles at the same time.
Anything else i've tried doesn't have the features i need like the HTC client did.
Porting the email client over i realize is probably not gonna happen so.....I really like the nexus but I'm not sure what i can use.
Bit of an email background how i use it.
2 Exchange accounts, both have multipul folders i need synced and seen in the combined view area. 7 folder on one and 2 on the other.
I also have a support email i send from and when replying to an email need to select that email account to send from. (just used for sending email doen't come to this mailbox it comes to my main one.)
WHAT TO DO!!!!!
i absolutely love touchdown for my work exchange email, lets me sync specific folders and i can use push or set my refesh times as well as it has a nice widget for showing my next upcoming meeting and what meeting room it is in.
nvm, just saw u said td didnt work for what you wanted >.<
Have you tried maildroid? I don't know if it will do what you want, but it's worth a shot!
Yeah tried mail droid also. That didn't do what I wanted either.

For sure you looked in all the settings? I find it hard to believe that not one of those programs can do what the stock HTC app can.
I've looked in all settings in all programs. EE was the closest to what i wanted but couldn't bare with the battery drain.
I've been at this for 2 weeks. Installed every email app out there. And I did have an X10 a bit ago. But I did use TD then but only had 1 exchange email, now I have 2.

It's been a couple months of searching and barring with the stock asop email client.
I am now at the point of asking for the help of a dev to please help me and port the HTC email client to be used on asop.
There has to be some way of doing so... So that the sense framework will not be needed.
any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

any ideas on this? Just got the Nexus 7 2013 and can totally understand your pain. What app do you use? Or is there a way of rooting the Nexus and putting a sense rom on it?

I've come to the conclusion we most likely won't get anywhere with with trying to port an app over. But the closest I've gotten to the HTC email is Enhanced Email.
I've also contributed some suggestions there to help make it as close to HTC email as it will be. Good Dev there too. Making good progress on updating the app.
So with school started, I'm looking for some apps I can use to help with the hassle. I'm also trying to consolidate the things I need to carry in my bag because my locker is on the bottom floor and all my classes are on the 4th floor. The stairwells are narrow as hell and getting down to my locker and back up in 4 minutes is an extreme pain in the rear end.
What I'm looking for is a calendar/planner/journal app that could help. Basically, all I need is a place where I can put my class schedule in and my homework and due dates.
I've tried using the stock calendar app, but I can't figure out how to set up right. My schedule works on a cycle. Day A - Day F. Each day it changes, and it goes in a loop. The stock app just repeated the days over and over.
For example, this weeks cycle was as follows: Monday - A Tuesday - B Wednesday - C Thursday - D Friday - E...Monday - F Tuesday - A, etc.
Calendar you may have to set up online because I know there are a few things that won't work on mobile devices. As for Journal/Note taking I use Evernote. Really easy to use and it syncs with all other connected devices through a cloud.

I have used M$ OneNote and Evernote. Both are nice, this semester I am perfering OneNote. Last semester I preferred Evernote. For pure note taking Evernote is best, If you are provided powerpoints and want to mark them up OneNote is better.
I do not like Snote as it does not have a PC interface, I really need both interfaces.
Hi Guys,
Got my shiny new Note2 (Gray color) today ans rooted it as well , I am sunning Apex launcher and using the stock email application I have configured my 2 email accounts which are my Yahoo and exchange email, however like in GB and ICS if you go under shortcut you will get an option to add a shortcut for your email acount I am not getting it anymore.
All I want to be able to do is that make an Icon represnting each email account and keep it on desktop so that I can access them with one click
Please suggest the possible way/workarounds
Regards
Sandeep

Helloo Amigos, I think we are in the same boat and no one is really ready to help us, I had posted a similar question but till date no one has answered..!!

I don't have an answer, but this free app looks like it may solve the problem. I have not tried it.

Sorry, no real help from me on this one either, but have you considered using an alternate email app?
Personally, I'd recommend K-9 Mail.
I can't believe that none of you guys noticed tris issue ... Help!!!

I think no one use this feature except both of us
I started using another email app for another account
HI,
I have the same issue. I had my Galaxy S1 with rooted ICS, and even in the stock version there was option to create those shortcuts. The problem for me is that i use 4-5 email accounts. And without those shortcuts its hard to monitor ,and its easy to get lost from which account are you sending back email.
Maybe its possible to install email apk from ICS ? Any one got the .apk file ?

I've just upgraded from an S3 to a Note II and I've noticed this too.
I wonder if it's because I'm using the Hong Kong FW that came with it. I notice it's missing other shortcuts too, like Mono Audio Toggle.
Very annoying. Oh well.

Unfortunately this is not country related...i had a workaround...using titanum backup:
1. back-up apex launcher installed on my s3 (gestures adn link to emai laccounting wrking properly)
2. restore on my Note II
It works!
The issue is when you remove ana account...it does no longer work, eeven if you restore the account.
It would be nice if we could copy the link and make it available in al the devices without have installed apex launcher...
Same problem. Annoying.
Same issue with I9505. The workaround (restore I9300 APEX backup) works like a charm.
Annoying....really annoying...

Does someone know how to copy a shortcut form Apex Launcher and create an icon to use also in the TW Launcher (or another one)?
