Whenever I video call someone on a laptop using his 2mp webcam, the video quality is so low though I have everything maximum. The reciever sees me bad and I see him bad although we both have a very good internet connection.
Might there be a problem with my front camera when video calling or is there something missing?
Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance.

Is it possible to build and attach a Led Flash to the USB port?? As anyone tried this?
I'm sure it's possible... personally I rather see a option for a forward facing camera to be added via the usb... but that's just me.
Meh there have been a few occasions where flash would have been nice. Not a bad idea

or someone could build a usb attachment that on the front has the front facing camera and on the back it has an led light for the original camera jeje
the have a mirror that attaches to the phone and acts like a front facing camera. its kinda cool because you can remove it. it you only need a ffc every once in while its awesome. just youtube front facing camera mirror
Can you provide a link to that youtube video? I did a search and too many unrelated results were displayed.

Just attach another smartphone to the USB port and we're good to go.
Just a query, now we have the camera libraries, is it possible that they could be edited to reduce the compression in video recording? Could the bitrate be upped to give better video?
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk
With libralies you cant do NOTHING.
It just to make easy for devs to port it in their rom.

Ah ok. In that case, is there anything possible to improve bitrate?

How do you mean?

One of the main issues with the video recording on the arc etc is it records in low bitrate. If we can increase the bitrate we can improve the video.

Try igCamera or igCameraPro - you can set the video quality - i use 8 mbit (1280x720) on Arc S
Just had a look, I got the free one, limited to 640*480, but the paid version doesn't show in the market. Might be because of the rom I'm using
Ill try another rom and have a look, thanks!

Yeah, the pay version is called igCameraPro - had to search for it manually.
But I'm not sure if 1280x720 requires Arc S hardware. Not sure the Free version has limitation in that regard.
Found it. Got 1280*720 30fps at 20Mb working fine! Have to drop the sound quality for it to work though. Setting sound to stereo causes the framerate to go crazy.

Cool. Stereo shouldn't matter since Arc/S doesn't have stereo mic anyway.

The Arc has the capabilities to record in stereo.

Is it me or is netflix not that clear. Important watching via wifi and it seems to have tiny squares. Also the buttons stay lit up they won't turn off. Is there anyway to turn it off while netflix is running?

Buttons can be turned off via screen filter in market...bad quality is due to bad internet connection. Try moving closer to router or not covering up the bottom of your phone with your palm

I can confirm this, even youtube video look better than netflix for some reason
I was watching Netflix earlier, and I noticed lines, very faint but still there, in the whole movie...
Weird.

I have noticed this problem too from the very first day I got the phone. Netflix quality is miserable with very low resolution... it's not the internet connection speed (WiFi 30Mbps), and the WiFi signal is not being blocked or anything (did a Speedtest).
It's not the phone either, I had it replaced 4 times when I was trying to get one with good screen (I didn't, just gave up).
This problem is also present while streaming flash videos. The strange thing is that if you download the flash video (same one with the bad quality), and play it from the phone (using the built-in videos app), the quality is fine.
It's as if the video is not being smoothed when upscaled and played. I could see that very clearly when comparing the flash playback with the downloaded file; like a shirt collar for ex.
Maybe the built-in app uses some different method of playing videos?
+1 Netflix looks better on my g2x and my hd7 what's up with that lol

I can think of several reasons...
1.) We do not have netflix hd.
2.) Large screen with piss poor resolution.

I think those lines are the same lines that people complain about when the screen brightness isn't up all the way. But video sucks, now that you guys mention it about flash video on the web i have come to notice that also.

Does anyone have the same problem?
Same here. Recording high frequencies causes same screeching type sound in videos.

ahhh, I guess there are limitations to this device. their music was a bit loud anyway. I did several recordings and the audio seemed fine albeit not crystal clear as it's only a smartphone.
Ive noticed similar problems with all of the galaxy s/note phones ive owned. Its improved alot from the galaxy s1 though where to much high or low noise would sound distorted. I noticed that using a pair of headphones with the built in mic helped me a bit on older phones but I have yet to try it on my note 2. Maybe if there was a audio tweaking mod like voodoo that we could try?
