[Q] Full-Screen Video Freezing - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey guys,
Quick question on the stock video player. I have found that every once in a while, while playing a video in full-screen, that the video freezes while the audio keeps playing. Whenever this happens, the screen and buttons are both locked up, and the only way to get control of my phone back is to do a hard reset (hold down power for a few seconds). This has only happened to me when I'm in full-screen mode. A cursory search through the forums brings up similar issues on other devices (not all Samsung devices), with no answers to the questions.
I've checked to see if the videos themselves were corrupted, but it has never frozen in the same place twice (and now that I think about it, it has never frozen in the same video twice). Most of the videos I'm watching were downloaded from youtube using Tubemate v1.05.45.
I am currently running Clark's FreeGS3 v3.0.0 with stock kernal, but this same error has occurred with other Roms, and with other kernals (one being The People's Rom GS3.08).
If anyone has any information on what this might be, please let me know!
UPDATE:
The same screen-freezing just happened again, but this time when the video was not in full-screen. Just a heads up for any and all trouble-shooters that this is most-likely not limited to full-screen video playback.

Full-screen video freezes

Whenever I go full-screen in a flash app or watch a steaming mp4 video, the picture would freeze after a second or two, while sound would still be playing.
This started couple days ago, I was running AuraxTSenseHD Rom. I decided to try wiping and installing another Rom, SuperVillain, but the same problem was still there. Has anyone else had this problem or does someone know how to fix it?

[Q] Having some trouble with Instagram

Hello,
Yesterday I purchased the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch for Virgin Mobile (SP-D710VMUB). I am incredibly happy with the phone so far, however when I downloaded Instagram, I discovered that recording video caused the phone to freeze, and eventually restart on its own.
After searching for the problem, I saw that some LG users had a problem where only the front facing camera would record. I thought I'd give it a shot, and the front facing camera works perfectly. No freezing or crashes. I also so the post about the Epic 4G Touch where users had to disable 'Use Instagram's Advanced Camera'. After disabling the option, I am unable to select video, and am only able to take photos.
Nothing else seems to cause freezing or crashing in Instagram, only taking video with my rear camera.
I am running on Jelly Bean 4.1.2. I am not rooted, and the phone is completely stock as of right now.
If anyone has any information, or any idea as to what may be causing this problem; any advice would be much appreciated.
@Auze
Here is a link to an Instagram apk. I would try it out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332178
Just delete the instagram app you have installed...download the instagram apk. from the link and install with a file manager..( es xplorer/astro )..to just list a couple...any file manager/browser will work. No need to be rooted..so don't worry about that.
That being said..I do not use Instagram..So this is just a guess on my part...Read through the whole thread..( I just skimmed )..Could be other users having this issue as well and might have a fix..But from what I saw..it looked to be working.
Thanks for the reply! I tried the apk you linked (v4.1.0). Unfortunately, I still have the same problem. However, I did discover that it isn't freezing and crashing immediately when pressing the record button anymore, but instead when I finish recording a video.
If you are using the 4G Epic Touch, could you please install Instagram and attempt to record video to see if you have the same problem? I'm not sure as to whether this might be a problem with my phone or with the Instagram app.
Thanks again for your reply.
EDIT: I noticed that the phone's buttons remained responsive for a short time after Instagram froze. I was able to hit the home button after it locked up following the recording of a video. After making it to the home screen, I was able to go back into Instagram only to find a still frame of the video I just took, and black bars in place of the Instagram UI. Android soon reported that Instagram wasn't responding and allowed me to force close it via the prompt.
I don't know if this information is relevant or helpful to anyone, but I thought I'd post it anyway.
@Auze
ill try it later..as of now im downloading 4.3 gapps for a new rom on my gtab 10.1...
But to me it sounds like an app problem...
Thanks, if you don't get around to it, it's no big deal. I appreciate your help. I agree that it sounds like an app problem, although I am curious if it happens to all 4G Epic Touches.
For anyone that has this problem, I worked around it by filming a video with the stock Camera app, and then going into Instagram and uploading that video from the Gallery. It will go right into the Instagram video editor, and you can proceed as normal.

Screen Tearing After Video Playback

After extended (30+ minutes) of video playback (I typically use MX Player, but the results are identical with other players) my Nexus 7 will appear to still run fine, but during scrolling in chrome, settings, etc the screen will lag and tear (about 1/3 of the screen lags behind the other 2/3 with tearing around the intersection).
The video playback is always fine, you only see the problem after closing the app and using other programs such as the browser.
The only fix I have found so far is a reboot of the Nexus 7. I first started experiencing this after upgrading to 5.0. I have tried multiple ROMs including stock factory images as well as stock and several other kernels. Has anyone else experimenting anything like this? Any suggestions for finding a root cause?

Stopped Recording Video

I was trying to shoot some video with the Fire phone today (I'm on 4.6.3). I had about 5 videos recorded, when I ran into an issue where I would hit the button to start recording the video and immediately it would stop (with the counter reading only 1 sec). I tried to switch back to camera and then back to video, as well as exit the app, but the problem persisted. Until I restarted the phone, it kept doing this and apparently recorded none of these 1 sec attempts at video.
I would imagine this kind of quirk (as well as the audio routing problem I've discussed in another thread) would be more likely to occur while using a non-stock ROM. Unless I am experiencing some sort of defective hardware issue, I am rather amazed that these issues would happen with the stock FireOS install. I haven't even used the phone all that much for audio and video. At some point I may be tempted to proceed to install CM11, despite it's quirks just to see if these issues would be remedied, as much as I had not wanted to.
Anyone else experience this type of problem?

Intermittent freezing when gaming/ watching any type of video

Its been a long time since I have posted something on this site. Got myself a RM 5G, its been great so far. Noticed as of late when I am gaming or watching a video of any type youtube, netflix, facebook etc it will freeze for anywhere up to 3 seconds then continue playing.
It might not sound like its a big deal or anything, more annoying if anything. I have replicated this on lte and wifi in multiple locations. First i thought it may of been the android system viewer thing that was happening recently but I dont think it is now. Considering a factory reset to see if this works out.
Non rooted device, just seeing if anyone else has experienced this with there RM's? If so what did you do to fix the issue?
I have a section in this video that I was recording start the video from minute 18:40 and you will notice the lag to illustrate what I am explaining. This would happen while watching videos.
Cheers in advance.
