So when you click the maximization button, the popup browser will redirect you to the stock browser. Is there any way to change the redirection to Dolphin?

I like the idea of the pop up browser, but would only use from time to time. For apps asking how to open up a link, I tell them to open using my default browser always because that's how I want to view most of the time.
Is there a way to call up the pop up browser on demand from links? I'm thinking if I could long tap a link or double tap a link, it could open the link in the pop up browser. Keep in mind the source of the link could be any app, another browser, G+, Facebook, etc.
I know there is a mod to launch a stand alone popup browser, but I don't think that solves what I am asking about.
The developers of Air Calc have had a floating browser for a long time. They are currently making it available for 4.0+ android devices, i believe. I tried to download it to my Note 2 but it is not yet available.

...or at least offer "open link in popup browser" as a choice...that would have been the right way to implement this, because heck if I'm going to leave the defaults off so that 99.99999% of the time when I click a link destined for a full browser I then have to select "Browser" and then press "Just Once" all to open a simple web page. At the very least they could have put in a checkbox in the app selector box that would select the tapped browser in "Just Once" mode the moment you tap, so you don't have to confirm each time.
Sorry, I don't have a solution, I'm just completely echoing your sentiment about this.
I have a bookmark on the home screen that is defaulted to the pop up browser.
It is the only way I know to get the pop up browser on demand.
I press and hold link, copy url, press home button, hit my bookmark (I renamed pop up), then paste the url.
Hope this helps.
You can set the pop-up browser as default and hit the button on the top left to open the page up in the regular explorer.
Only problem is that this will open the stock browser. Which is frustrating if you usually use a third party browser like me!
Does anybody know how to make the top left button in the pop-up browser open Chrome rather than the stock browse?
That would be nice because I have all my data synced to Chrome.

Mine automatically opens in chrome when I click the top left button without setting anything up, I checked and there are no defaults set for either.

How did you accomplish this? Is there a pop up settings menu to set your default browser?
For everyone, floating browser flux in the play store might be an option.

Just try and uninstall the Crome that is what I have done. Run it a little while without installing Chrome and by default it will revert back to your default brower. After running it that way for a little while than install Chrome agian but me personally I have got rid of it because it uses mad data compared to the stock browers I have notice.
Remember If I have helped you in anyway to hit the Thanks Button.:good:

The reason why I use chrome is that it syncs all my bookmarks and data with my desktops. Other than that, I'd stick with the default.
To the OP, uninstall chrome and run the a website in the popup browser (still with no chrome) and then load it full screen. It opens with the default browser, right?
Now install Chrome, and try the same process again.
What happened this time?
Regards
Thanks for the answer fellas. That is really weird how you described that cornbread. Because when I uninstalled Chrome, the pop up will obviously use the stock browser. But when I install Chrome again even without setting any defaults, the pop-up browser will still full screen to chrome. I know there is a cultprit default behind this but we just can't seem to find it yet. Anyone?
On a similar subject, has anyone figured out how to set the default browser manually? As the OP browser stated, popup browser either defaults to Chrome or the Samsung browser when you maximize. I would love if it would open Boat Browser instead, but even if I set Boat to default, popup still only opens Chrome or the Android/Samsung browser. Any ideas?

i have chrome installed, and when i maximize the pop up browser, it opens my stock browser. i would suggest trying this and see what happens.
I flashed .67 then rooted. Somewhere in the mix I lost the native browser! I would use chrome and move on but chrome isn't allowing me to add bookmark links to the home screen....which is key for me. Anyone know how the native one got hosed?
Chrome is the default browser. Did mean the old stock android "Browser"?

Are you sure?? Chrome lets me add a widget with direct links of my choosing to any screen. Looks exactly like the native browser widget with the only difference being the Chrome sign in the lower right corner.

Thanks all. I meant that in stock form the ZL had a chrome icon and another browser that had a blue globe as an icon. They seemed to be different in the way the operated.
I did figure out how to do the home screen link. It won't offer it if you are in the "star fav's" view of the bookmarks, while the normal bookmark view enabled it. Is there any advantage to the stock android browser? That must be what I thought was the "Sony" browser.

Huh, my ZL never came with android browser, only chrome.
Afaik Chrome is just about better than the stock browser in every way, atleast on the ZL.
Quick question.... Chrome is not being 'remembered' as my default browser. So if I use for example Google's widget for internet favourites. Every time it requests me to select a browser. (Chrome or Samsung's stock browser). It never remembers the option even though I set chrome as default.... Anyone else having this issue. Anyway round this? Obviously if won't let me disable the stock browser.
HI Andy,
Did you ever figure this out?

Is there a way to disable it? It's garbage. Is there a way to force links to open in default browser without having to select "open in browser" from the drop down menu?

I agree - I receive job notifications all day via text w/ links in them and on my Note 4 it worked fine, but on my new Note 7 it opens what I presume is a Webview minibrowser that only partially loads, I then had to use the drop down menu to load it into Chrome, which reloaded the page, which finally opened the link into the app that it was associated with in the system to begin with - WTH?!?!
So the only fix I found was to replace the stock app with the Google messaging app -
