So I don't know what is going on with my phone.
At one point it said it was complete full, yet I couldn't find the files that were so big that i had filled up 15 GB already.
So I did a factory reset, which work for all of 10 mins. The space I had taken up had been reduced but I still got the message even after rebooting the phone.
I have attached screenshots which I hope further clarifies things.
I'm tempted to try and go back to a stock rooted room but I'm not sure that will even help.
Anyone that can offer any kind of advise would be a god sent.
Ok, so your internal is just about full. Move some stuff to the external SD.

I had the same problem. I had to odin back to factory and reroot. That was the only fix I found for it.

I think he was saying that his cards not really full that there's a problem.. and from the graph of his internal if he was really full, that bar would be fully across not a little piece of it.
Flashing roms can push your sd contents into strange places. I had it happen once.

I was getting full at one point myself, and I found a utility called Disk Utility to help me find out where all of the storage was going. Turned out it was from downloading nightlies and they get tucked away in some inconspicuous place. This may, or may not be your issue, but it's worth a try. Good luck.

Yeah, that and nandroids are usually the culprits. People don't realize that 1 uncompressed backup can be from 500mb to 1.5GB.

My TWRP backups are always around 2.2GB lol
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Touchwiz backups usually start at around 750mb because of all the TW bloat. Lol. And I can see easily have 1.5GB of apps+data.

I've been using the clockwork mod recovery for a while now and been doing the usual backups and stuff when flashing new roms. I notice it does create a very good backup image. I always wondered how exact and precise of a backup is it? Anyone run into odd issues after doing a restore that doesn't appear until they do a restore?
Only had one problem but that was my own fault..I didn't have enough memory on my memory card and kept getting md5 mismatch... Solved that and flashed the backup but my phone got messed up had to flash a fresh rom such a pain... So always have at least 400mb of memory ha
Edit: and I think u should of post this in android general section
Pretty darn exact, haha.
It also seems to get md5 mismatch error if u try to move the file any where. But it solve by zip-ing the backup before u move it tho. Just thought i share somthing i experienced.
Out of curiosity, what's the average time it takes for a full backup? Whenever I do one, it takes me 15 to 20 minutes...and the backup is almost always over 1 gb but that part makes sense due to how much it backs up.

Hey guys. I am not very optimistic but I thought I would ask. My mom asked new to root her phone and put on cyan 10 for her. During this process I had some issues and wound up rendering to stock with Odin and then tied and flash successfully. I didn't realize though that Odin would completely wipe the internal and she neglected to tell me she had pictures on there she wanted. Any possible way to recover data after a flash through Odin?

Worth A try
I've flashed through Odin numerous times and have never had any personal data deleted. Maybe you did something wrong? As for file recovery, use a data recovery software and see if you can retrieve files from it. I know it works on USB flash drives and RAM drives, it should, in theory, work for phones and devices as well. I use 'Recuva', I haven't tried it on my phone yet but I've recovered from USB drives and old hard drives and works like a charm.
If you do use this method, it's best to recover files to a USB drive or anything external, for safety and reliability reasons.
I haven't ever had that issue either. It's partly why I didn't bother backing up those files in the first place. I'm going to go pay her a visit again today and brave the scolding to give this a try. I'll post back my results. : fingers crossed :

Well happy to report all went well. It of her 970 photos, around 2 were corrupt (artifacts in the picture etc). Of the 67 videos 8 were corrupt. All in all a 99% success rate on each. I also setup dropbox on her phone for good measure. Thanks for the assist guys. You saved my ears.

Hate to resurrect this thread, but was actually just looking for my post to use the software I used for somebody else. The software that I used was the one mentioned by Bluntified, Recuva. Worked like a charm!
So does anyone have the
DBT-I9505XXUBMEA
version for T-mobile yet?
Official, leaked, any.
It is only for the i9500 and i9505 so far. It appears to have fixed the blurring/tearing issue and allows you to move apps to the SD.

Hopefully this isn't samsungs answer to having only 9 gigs of usable internal storage. I still want them to "optimize" the phone so that we can at least get 12-13 gigs of usually internal storage. That or give out high speed 16 or 32 gig sd cards to everyone so that we don't see a performance difference when we do run apps from the sd card

uh, this might sound like a noob question, but how do i change the boot.img?
Or you can just flash a i9505 rom..... I have it now and samsung ''fixed'' the screen issue by making the settings background not black, but some form of grey..

Someone seems to have an attitude for no reason.
And no, allot of us didnt have the chance to check out the phone before we bought it, because we bought it as soon as the order page went up. And sorry if i think that if you advertise something as 16 gigs, you should at least get pretty close to 16 gigs, not 9. Its people like you who always say "they dont owe us anything" that nothing changes.
Allot of us feel that we got screwed, and we let Samsung know that. If enough people complain, they WILL do something about it.
I flashed a cwm flashable XXUBMEA ROM. and i can't change my apn to fast.t-mobile.com to change to the LTE apn... when i try to change it to IPV4/IPV6 I can't because it's grayed out. so you cant tap it.
Just a quick update. I did flash the XXUBMEA to my T-Mobile S4, but I was having some issues. like my calls kept dropping, and a bunch of apps would freeze and have to force close, like hill climb racing, facebook, twitter, XDA-developers app to name a few. thankfully i made a nandroid back up before flashing XXUBMEA so now i'm back on MDL.
can you post link to which one you flashed?
Sure it's http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22979706399755386 make sure you open the zip and change the boot.Img from the kernel to a t mobile kernel.

I used that one for a bit and didn't like it. They deleted some essential apps and widgets like the play store, youtube street view, and the stock weather widget. Also the dual camera doesn't work. I had to ODIN the MDL back. I'm looking for full stock MEA ROM deodexed TWRP flashable zip.
Have a note 2 and didnt realize you couldnt move apps to sd until after buying the phone. So now I need to get around that restriction.
My device is rooted and on stock rom.
Can someone please point me to instructions for setting up apps 2 sd, or doing the internal v external sd swap?
Thanks in advance for the help
Foldermount can help you...
I think that's an Android jb issue rather than a fault of the phone.
I use the memory swap now, I used to use directory bind, and it works perfectly

It's a ROM related issue (JB). I'm using Clean Master(App), which allowes to move at least some apps to external SD.
im using a custom rom with the memory swap baked in. But im pretty sure this is the mod/guide that im using
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036796
it is really good and fools the phone into using your sd card as your internal memory so no need to swap on a per app basis.
enjoy.

Thanks for pointing me to this. Can you verify for me as I cant seem to find it. Can this be used on my stock rom rooted? Or will I need to flash a new rom? Id really like to keep it stock as much as possible. Dont mind if the trash has been removed though.
I know the thread says you need a rom and kernel that supports initD, but I dont know if this does?
Also, the initial thread indicates it needs to be a international version, mine is a US from verizon. Will this still work?
Lastly, im assuming I will need to whipe my phone and start fresh?
Again thanks for all the help with this!
I'm not a hundred percent sure to be honest. But I would expect it to work on a stock rooted phone.
You would need to do a complete wipe and I think it says in the op that you're better off using the mod as soon as you do a fresh install
However, seeing as you are with Verizon I would really advise you to Flash the rom I use, Which is the Jedi rom.
It comes with some trash removed, some nice eye candy, the swap already cooked in and the new kernel is giving standby battery performance of 1% an hour.
But if you do then I suggest you wait for version 18 which is due any day.
Good luck

I appreciate it man. Thats the one frustrating thing about this community in large you cant get anyone to answer your question, or they just assume you are supposed to know as much as they do. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.
Has the download link been pulled? Not seeing it?

Yeah it got pulled but they are getting it up and running again the link is on page 944 it above for ease.
It'll be on the main op shortly.
No worries on the Help I don't know much but what I do know I try to share lol.
Let us know how you get on
Edit - if you're in no mad rush might be better to wait until the link appears in the main op.

I just flashed my first rom. It was very straight forward and easy. My tablet also seems to run quite a bit smoother now.
My one problem is all of the internal memory is not being recognized. My total memory is being registered as 10 gigs however I have 9 gigs free.
It seems like it didn't affect my free space, but maybe there is a hidden partition on the drive? I already tried a wipe and restore but it had no affect.
