Alright, so I've successfully rooted my device using this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990705)
and everything was perfectly fine, for about a week anyway. Sometime thereafter, I was getting the internal storage full error as well as a Wifi error and ended up doing a factory restore as a last resort fix. I believe I am now unrooted, yet SuperSu is still installed and now rooting via the guide is not working. Anyone have an idea of an alternate route, or possibly a way to remove traces of the the previous root? Thanks in advance!

It is starting up and when i unlock the screen i get an error message and than it restarts.
It does this everytime.
I have searched for unrooting it but can not find the stock firmware etc.

Was this a couple of days ago or so? There was a day when someone broke every CM device. If not, you can always try a factory reset first.
If you have a backup, restore it and then install the latest nightly.
If you don't have a backup, well, now you know why you should have made one... Download the latest nightly on your computer and do one of:
* adb push it to your device
* adb side load it
* put it on a USB disk and use a usb-otg cable
And install it. If that doesn't work, factory reset it.
I did not use my tab for a few days and i connected it today with the wifi and got the notification for a update which i installed.
2 weeks ago i did a factory reset already because i wanted to go back to stock firmware so i guess i don't have a back up anymore?
I am new to rooting etc so i don't exactly know how everything works but i know i have made backups with titanium back up and TWRP etc.
I just did a factory reset with TWRP and thank god it is functioning normally again.
Thanks for your quick responding!
I still want to go back to stock firmware so does anyone know where i can get the stock firmware?
I am from the Netherlands so i don't know if i need another firmware than someone from another country.
Thanks,
Gunnar
is anyone having the same issue as me,
i came from kitkat and flashed v20h stock rom and supersu as per the instructions, everything works fine except my lg apps such as quickmemo+ and lg remote cannot be downloaded using the update centre,
i managed to find the apk and install, and it just doesn't let me update them either,
anyone had this problem before?
Same Boat.
Any solutions? I have the same problems after flashing to Lollipop also. However, I did make a mistake of wiping "internal storage." This is the glitch after that screwup. I resolved the other issues (no softkeys and no notification bar) by flashing Kitkat THEN LP. This issue remains, so I restored LG apps from Ti backups. but they will NOT download and/or update. They do work.
This all started because my 1st LP flash self destructed. It kinda feels like a permission thing. I am hesitant to do another reset (the right one). But I don't want to go forward until I fix this. I think the reset must do something to the LG App Updates app when you fist boot. I think it must see some stuff from internal storage that I had zapped. Since it was't there and now fails.
I know we can't be only two. problem seems rare though. So far.
Hi guys I'm hoping someone can help me out with this.
Basically I rooted my LG g pad 8.3 v500/awifi using towelroot and installed twrp via the manager in the play store.
I then proceeded to flash the rom provided by adrianom and everything seemed to go through smoothly.
I've since come across the common issues of the WiFi disconnecting and reconnecting frequently along with the sd card unmounting and taking a while to pick itself back up again.
Anyway I tried to address the WiFi issue first by checking the configuration.ini but I found that my root access has been removed.
Tried re-running towelroot but my device is now showing as not being supported.
Any suggestions?
I think you just have to flash SuperSU to get root. On both AOSP 5.1.1 and 6 by adrianom that was the case.

Hello. I was downgrading from MM to LP using lgup. The phone got stuck at the logo so I performed a factory reset. Now I'm at the setup screen but my mobile data and wifi aren't working, so It won't let me proceed to setup my phone. The wifi not working is nothing new, but I've performed resets before and never lost mobile data. I do have a backup on the SD card and on the PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
Flashed LP compatible modem/radio as well?
First of all, thank you for the reply. I just flashed a KDZ. I didn't have any radio issues when going from LP to MM so I assumed there wouldn't be an issue going back. Now that I think about it, I went to MM with a .zip that had everything.
I was messing with LGUP and I saw the "FOTA" option allows .zips. Could I flash a "complete" package and have everything be compatible?
Hi, I'm trying to update my phone to the latest version. It is rooted with Magisk and hasn't been updated at all since I got it a year and a half ago. The methods I have found so far for updating with root are not working. Every time I try to open System Updates in my Settings, it force closes on me so I can't access it.
Is there a work around for this? I have tried using Oxygen Updater and that failed also. Can I manually install the OTA update and preserve root somehow?
Please help, I haven't found any solutions. I got an error 1 using TWRP, which seems to mean that my boot.img is corrupt?
I managed to solve this by doing a factory reset/data wipe, which was my last resort (and a huge pain to have to restore everything). I still don't know what caused the issue, although I have some suspicions.
But in case anyone else encounters this error, it is definitely not the boot.img and I had no problems retaining root.
