Strange problem please help - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please help me i am stupid and frustrated!!! I have an N7100 and here is what i did in a timeline:
1st rooted -no problem
2nd flashed a couple of roms -no problem
3rd i wanted to return to stock rom and flashed via odin the rom BUT i had checked Nand erase all
4th i booted but it was stuck in the boot animation
5th i searched the internet on how to fix it and i got into stock recovery and i did a factory reset and wipe cache
6th i successfully booted my phone BUT here is my problem
Every time i lock (sleep) my device it wont turn back again till reboot. Every time i boot up my phone it spends about 40sec in the "Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100" screen. It is extremely laggy and the boot animation is not synchronized with the boot sound. Please help me!!! I think that the bootloader has the problem but how can i download and flash it in my phone?
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

Go into download mode again
Flash again with odin pc a stock rom without messing with the options.
Then soft rest your phone via settings.
Then root .voila

[Q] Soft bricked my phone

So this is kind of a unique issue i'm having. I have the I-747 on AT&T and flashed AOKP rom (it was taking too long to get JB). It worked for about 3 days and then got stuck in the android boot screen (used the rom feature to get rid of the pink unicorns). after that, I booted into recovery and reset my phone, and it worked again for a few more days, then it wouldnt boot again (I dont believe I changed any settings between the boots). After this time, it wouldnt let me boot into recovery and would only boot to the android start screen and stop. I used odin to flash the stock rom, which only took me to the 2nd samsung boot screen and stopped (after the AT&T splash shows up). I looked online and saw someone say try CF-root using odin, tried that and it didnt help. Then tried using a custom kernel siyah s3, and now it will only show the initial samsung splash screen before turning off again. Any suggestions here? I figured I'd stop researching since i dont want to really mess up my phone worse than it already is

I have a similar issue, someone please help
Your main issue now is that you flashed siyah. We don't have one. If you can get to download mode, you will want to flash back to stock.

Thanks guys! So I used odin to flash the stock boot loader and stock rom, but it is still hanging up on the 2nd samsung screen like it initially did (the one after the AT&T boot animation). Any other ideas on what could be the cause?
How long is the hang? Sure is just not the 1st initial boot of the new rom?

The first boot can take as long as 5 minutes sometimes. So, if you haven't waited that long, then try out some patience. Otherwise, try booting into recovery (stock now) and factory reset.

bump!
I have this same issue. I have restored to stock rom and it does the Samsung boot, then AT&T, then it goes to Samsung pulsating with a blue pulsating LED.
I have left it in that mode for at least 15 minutes and it never boots.
I can still get into download mode.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Has anyone tried booting into recovery after flashing the stock ROM and wiping caches then rebooting?

I let it run for 2 hours (left the house came back and i was still on. And phone wont boot into recovery at all ( i tried many times, but it just boots normally and skips recovery until it gets to the 2nd samsung screen, then stops there).
I dont know if this is relevant, but while the phone is off and plugged in, i can still see the battery meter and the Green LED (so i'm guessing it's still working, it just wont boot)

I went into recovery many times before, I'm definitely hitting the buttons right but it still wont go into recovery, it just tries booting like normal. I can go into download mode easily, but that's it.
jbizz, did you start getting this error after flashing AOKP rom also? trying to figure out what could have caused the issue in the first place
I'm not really skilled on these things, but I once had a similar issue with my phone not booting and had to end up using Kies to emergency restore it. Odin wouldn't recognize my phone but kies would.
Although I think my issue with odin may be stemming from my computers usb ports...

I actually flashed a bad kernel and the phone wouldn't boot after that.
What is the proper way to boot into Stock Recovery?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
Fixed it! What I did was go into Kies software and did a firmware upgrade instead of trying to flash from odin, then put it in download mode instead of recovery, but it still worked. Thanks for all the help, guys! guess it's time to move to a CM based rom?

Sure, I'm doing this largely from memory since I mostly figured it out by throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.
Open Kies->tools->firmware upgrade and initialization->enter model name then serial number (they're behind the battery) -> put the phone in download mode and plug it in. it should take care of the rest.
Fair warning, this will fully wipe your phone, i lost all my pics (thank you google+'s instant upload or i'd be PISSED) and titanium backup (there goes my 3 stars on every level in angry birds and great scores in temple run), but at least you get a phone that can function as more than a paper weight, right?

It sounds more as a glitch to me, a bad flash will cause uglier problems I think, as loops, not booting up, hangs up, crashes etc.
If I were you, I'd flash a stock rom, go to recovery, wipe cache, factory reset then again wipe cache. Then I'd root it on stock kernel perhaps with CF-auto root and then if anything is back to normal I'll go to other roms or whatever you want to do. Always make sure your usb debugging is on
**Edit, I just reread you thread...how did you flashed again if you were not able to enter the dl mode?
( I meant to say ran the rooting program in odin again, not flashed ' sorry
Thank you very much for your quick answer ' im just waiting for a reply on the stock firmware thread ' as im not sure which firmware to flash as my note 2 is unbranded ' carrier unlocked and im from the United Kingdom ' I was gonna flash the uk vodafone firmware but then my phone would probly be carrier locked to vodafone and im on the carrier giffgaff ill mske sure in the future I remember to to tick usb debugging ' noob mistake ' It was just that it took me sll day too find a store that was not dold out of note 2's I just got a bit excited lol thanks again

Smoothest rom with minimal mode. Maybe you want to explore simplistic framework flashed over it but otherwise also its pretty awesome.

If you want to flash the stock rom, at least in your case I'd forget about odin this time. For your sake I'd start from 0 and just reflash it trough Kies, at least that way you will know for sure where you stand.
But reading your comments such as turning it on and going to the purchased state confuses me. Your rom is either pretty much f****** or I hope not your newly replaced device faulty, perhaps some hardware/memory issues I have never heard of.
There is a thread for how to go complete stock via kies somewhere

[Q] Soft brick while updating NEAK kernel :(

Hi,
I have no idea what possessed me to update the kernel using uNEAK, and as soon as I did it and rebooted it, the phone went kinda dead. It tried to start and still does sometimes upto the "Samsung Note II" window but nothing happens after that. I tried to put the phone in recovery without success; whee did I go wrong? Please help! I have vowed not to be so impulsive ever again... Thank you
Suhas
I would download the stock firmware and flash via odin then re root.
