Graphics problems with games

Is anyone else having graphics problems with this phone while trying to play simple, 2d games, such as Doodle Jump? The Sprint version handled it flawlessly but this Tmo version can't even display the home screen without noticeable distortion.
Everyone who has complained about this problem, take ur dam phone back this complaint is getting old

No, i'm talking about the actual game graphics being distorted. I wish I still had my Sprint GS2 so that I could take a picture of the difference in definition. It's hard to describe but easily discernable when the two phones are placed next to the other. It's very bizarre actually.
Weird, I haven't had any trouble playing any games, both 2d and 3d.
Dead space and battlefield play great and smooth, as does squibble and copter 3d.
I'll get doodle jump just to see how it plays and report back
Has n e 1 tried fruit ninja the graphics on that game are horrible and freezes and lags bad

I haven't gotten it to work, it locks up my phone. All the other games I try work fine.
Did you guys try fruit ninja with chainfire3d and the Qualcomm plug in? Might be worth a try -fruit ninja it's nice and smooth on my phone with the above installed

Gaming With S4?

I wanted to ask fellow US SGS3 owners about gaming. I came from an international HTC One X where games were effortless but I just loaded NoVa 3 (which i paid for) and its a total lag fest. Can the Adreno 225 GPU handle current high end games or am I out of luck?
please share experiences or if the game is to blame because im discouraged
. thanks

Not sure about Nova3, but I play sentinel 3 with the HD pack and its totally smooth. Maybe nova is more motion intensive but sentinel 3 has a lot going on and never seems to lag at all.
I came from a galaxy note and i can tell you this plays games smoother than the Note. Dead Trigger, shadowgun, real racing 2 and modern combat 3 are all smooth as silk

my apologies. i realized that i had power savings turned on in the notification tray that scales down the cpu making it lag. now it plays much better (occational stutter in nova 3) but The Dark Knight Rises plays great.

Now that I have seen the pics the graphics look a little lower, but it doesn't bother me. It plays smooth. I won't trade smoothness for better graphics.

I have not really had a problem with the high-end games. Good luck.
I'm not worried about performance, I'm worried about heat. I want to hook my phone up to my TV, Bluetooth a controller to it, and play ff3 and ff1 on it that way. Would my phone melt in the process? I know with Bluetooth going, and the phone being charging through the mhl adapter, I'm scared of ruining my phone. Any feedback I would greatly appreciate it.

Mine gets warm doing the exact same thing but nothing more.
So nothing that will hurt the phone?

I just dunk mine under water when it gets a little too hot. But only 1" of water! Any more than that could be dangerous.

Make sure you lay the phone face down so the camera is facing up too. The heat disperses quicker through the speaker grill.

I was thinking the same thing. Even the one with dunking it in water. Always a couple of people that are going to troll. Kind of funny though.

C'mon - learn the difference between a troll and a obvious joke.
(protip: you can't really "watercool" your phone)
Lol I kind of figured. Just want to make sure I wouldn't destroy my phone by having so many connections going to it at one time

I dont how your experiencing lags in NOVA 3 on a S3.
It runs smoothly with all the effects like the particles falling from sky...etc on my Galaxy S2.

I'm not having any issues with lag either. I play Dead Trigger and Shadowgun with the graphics on high. Gotta love the gameklip + ps3 controller!

I've been having lag issues with intense graphical games like NOVA 3, which I thought was strange since it ran on my SII so smoothly. I've finally gotten it stomped out, I installed KT747 kernel and played around, finally got smooth performance by switching the governor. I personally use abyssplug/bfq. Gaming is now liquid smooth, even when underclocked to 1350. Try it out folks.

not troll, just a pathetic attempt at humor

Just chearping my beak about games and apps.

Dont you hate it when you buy an app or game thats like 3 bucks even 99cent ones whatever and your playing so good and youve gotten so far and 10 days later lets say your midway through completing the game and all of a sudden when you start level 6 stage 3 the gameplay gets laggy? So you restart your device or use task killers thinking you just need a refresh but when you load up the same level you get the same exact results. That bugs me. You cant even finish the game.
I've never bought a game for any of my Android devices because I don't find Android games very fun. I did beat all the Angry Birds and Bad Piggies, but they were all free. I've never had lag with this phone for any of those games.

Asphalt 7 works great for me. So does Mass Effect Infiltrator, Dead Trigger, Brothers in Arms, anything compatible really. Never suffer from lag.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
some of those games look good ill have to try em out, but yea one of the games was sentinel i could easily replicate the problem, few other games as well, it happened to me on a Samsung conquer and a epic touch 4g handset.
Asphalt 7 is a cool one i have it too. So is need for speed hot pursuit.

Dead Trigger is quite possibly one of the best free games I've played. If you like the whole [email protected]#$&%$#-weapons genre lol

[Q] phone heating up

I was playing some granny smith and I couldn't help but notice the bottom of my phone was getting fairly hot. I checked the temp of my CPU and it was around 35°C. I'm on loserrom 1.6 but have noticed this on stock ROM. I guess I'm asking if anyone else has had this happen to them?

Mine hits about 33 Celsius playing some games on AOKP 4.2.1

It's quite normal. All electronics heat up after excessive usage. But yes, even for my Galaxy S3, from normal usage, could get quite hot.

[Q] Optimus G Pro : Gaming ?

Hello Everyone ! I am thinking about buying the Optimus G Pro because of different reviews I have seen saying that the phone is very smooth and fast compared to the Galaxy s4 and the Htc One. I haven't seen much on the gaming aspect though :/ how is this phone with gaming? any lags or stutters ? I would like to play modern combat 4 with this beast of a phone ! and other games !

Sweet !
I play ravensword 2 and the room... looks better than most games on ps3 and runs smooth as butter. I have the thermal throttling off but it never slowed down either of those games anyway although after an hour or 2 on ravensword the phone gets warm but ive never recieved any errors. There is no doubt, as far as gaming this is THE phone to have hands down...

I play at work when I get tired of working(hope no one from is on here). Yesterday I played for about 6 hours straight or more, so I could try and beat dead trigger and beach buggy blitz. My phone did get warm but that's about it. I did all this while playing music with the xperia z walkman app.

Not to get this off subject, but where did u get the walkman app at? Back on topic, i play nova 3 and it sucks the battery pretty quick and gets quite warm, but its awesome on this hd screen. Tried the s4 and the htc one, and this phone tops them all hands down.
