[Q] Android Revolution HD 8.0 Bug Issues in custom Kernel - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, im sorry not to post this question to the Android Revolution Thread because i'm still not permitted to post any comments. I have this problem when i installed the latest version of Android Revolution v8 and a custom kernel (Any custom kernel e.g latest red pill, persues). I always did full wiped and everything works well in a stock rom. However, when installing custom kernel my phone can't:
1. Can't read pictures in my internal and external sd card
2. Can't read any videos and music still in my internal and external sd card.
3. This is what i wanted but it won't work in a stock rom.

Lately, im using revolution v6 and everything works well including the above mods for internal/external memory. Anyway, i could still use the Android Revolution v8 but i need the mods above because i have a lots of games. Directory bind is what im planning. Guys any suggestions?

Move app off SD to phone memory (A2SD+)

I have a question about A2SD+ I am using it and it is working well but I have 2 applications RockPlayer and Bouygues TV that are not working since I moved from Eclair 2.1 stock to a custom 2.2 rom with A2SD+ and reinstalled the applications.
Rockplayer is slower and stutters more then before which surprises me since 2.2 is supposed to be faster. and Bouygues TV fails to read the streams.
I would like to move these 2 applications off the SD (A2SD+) but I am not sure how to see if they work better. There is no question when installing everything goes to the external SD now which is nice except for these 2 apps.
Thanks for any ideas on how to try to move these 2 apps.
Have you download Rock player again or restored previous version using some sort of backup?
Maybe you downloaded armv6 version of Rock Player (which is for Legend) by mistake, instead of armv7?
Hi, I have tried both the old Beta version that leaked as and the v7 version that is on the market. The v7 version was better then the beta but I still see more "jitter" the the beta I had installed on stock 2.1 The custom ROM I am using is NeoPhyTe ROM v1.3e which works great besides that one "issue", I have not tried any other custom roms and don't think it is related to the rom that is why I did not post in thatthread.
Thank for the reply

Help with RCMixHD

When i try to flash this kernel RCMixHD-2.6.32.28_HAVS.925_CFS_VR_v39.
My phone don´t boot up.
I have installed this rom RCS Mix HD or simply The HD ROM v2.0 D2EXT .
Anyone know why it does not work?
And why don't you just ask in the proper Thread? Another useless Thread popping Up...
Possible problems: SD not partitioned, kernel doesn't work with the Rom, try first boot and then flash the kernel etc. These are all possible solutions (just as your problem itself), that have already been posted hundreds of times in every ROM-Thread...

More like why flash a 925mV kernel if you don't know this, when the appropriate thread is full of users with instability/bootloops due to the low voltage.

Flashing RCMixHD v1.6
Guys, I just had a very simple query about the RCMixHD ROM. I am on v1.5 and wanting to update to v1.6... Does it require a full wipe or can I flash it over the existing ROM?

Usually you can flash over existing version. But make backup before, just in case.

Question about flashing Android Revolution HD 6.0 ROM

Hello guys, I'm using the Official 4.1.2 Poland ROM ..
And I think of flashing Android Revolution HD 6.0 ROM, So I got a couple of questions, Will flashing this ROM cause my apps, data, files, etc to be deleted ? If no, then what does the author mean by " data wiping option in AROMA ", If Yes, Which data exactly that will be removed ? ( like apps or files or music for example )
And what is the use for Perseus custom kernel, And/Or what is a " kernel " at all ? ^_^
The last question, I lost my root privileges while flashing the 4.1.2 official Poland ROM, And I had to root all over again ..
Will flashing Android Revolution HD 6.0 also make me lose my root privileges ?
Sorry for asking such a newbies questions but I'm not an expert ^^
And thx in advance ..

To answer all your questions:
> The SuperWipe script in the AROMA of ARHD 6.0 fomats yet retains the external and internal SD card so everything is still there.
> Don't forget to backup your data first (Titanium Backup/Nandroid/Any data backup)
> Perseus Kernel is the recommended kernel and by which has good feedback also. Try it out.
> You will not lose root privileges after flashing ARHD :highfive:

Need help installing new kernel

Hello and thank you for taking your time in reading, I will start by letting you know my samsung captivate glide is already rooted, android version 4.0.4 and stock kernel 3.1.10-I927ICLJ3-CL970642, now I found this wonderful thread in the development forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892538
mostly im interested in having more available RAM, but it does have a lot of good perks, after reading thru all 32 pages I could not find instruction on how to flash a kernel so here are my questions.
1) how do i flash a new kernel on my phone ?
2) Do i need to flash a rom as well or can i keep the stock ICS with the new kernel ?

Oh I forgot to mention I already have clockwork mod
not sure if you can keep the stock rom with the kernel (bone stock.) I don't see why not ... I used Dman's UCLJ3 pre-rooted rom and flashed litekernel onto it so you should be able to.
in CWM, install zip from sdcard, browse to your download folder on your phone and install it.
MAKE SURE you do a full backup first so you can revert if something doesn't pan out.

ty yohan, i see that flashing a kernel is pretty much the same as flashing a rom, I like the stock rom, how stable is Dman's ?
There's crashing issues with his AOKP lockscreen version but it could be because I installed thegreatergoods litekernel. So if you're going to download the pre-rooted debloaded deodex. etc etc.. go with the one that doesn't have the lockscreen. the 14 toggles mod will work and can be configured by quickpanel settings in apps.
One thing that shouldn't be overlooked is ICE Pop, it has a themed dialer (big plus) ... Thegreatergoods literom will be good as well, but personally I dont like the cyan and yellow colors in the messaging app.
I flashed the kernel with success but after testing it for a week I decided to go back to stock, tho speeds were amazingly fast the device was alot more unstable and I couldent handle all the crashes and reebots

[Q] Does CM11 worth it or should I stick to TW (what about Dual ROMs)

Hi there,
I am using hybrid TW Rom called DN3 v5.5 and so far I am happy with it.
I only used 3 ROMs [Stock, Android Revolution HD, and DN3v5.5] since I’ve bought my note 2 when it first came out
DN3 has some issues with music and other miner bugs and I want to switch to a new and fresh interface and I think CM is the best choice for me
So my question is this:
1. Should I install the latest CM (and once DN3 update their ROM go back to using it again)
2. is Dual boot will do me any good ?? Because I’ve seen a thread saying that you can install dual Roms BUT one of them should be Stock 4.3 and not 4.4+ and the other is AOSP 4.4+
Please I need your advice friends and I would really appreciate your help

It is really a matter of your choice. If you like CM, definitely go for it.
Dual boot is certainly possible. My guess is devil kernel allows two partitions --primary and secondary to install two rom both Sammy and aosp roms. But it is fairly complicated process. Also your device will slow down considerably after some time.
So again choice is yours.
