Hello guys.
I have weird issue with device after installing custom recovery. Everything were good at first -
I unlocked bootloader, installed cwm 5.0.2.8, made backup and installed jellyking after. It loaded successfully, but only problem - camera not working. I decided to try to clear dalvik cache and to install google apps by the way. After that everything gone wrong. Now OS (recovery too) loading about 10 minutes and after loading touchscreen not working.
I tried to restore original image through cwm, but problem still there.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!

Dont know thats the problem sorry...
Well, I had a problem with the long boot, but now it seems okay with the latest build of jellyking, it boots up quickly!!!

if you wipe dalvik your phone has to rebuild it on boot so its going to take a while to load

Yeah, I know that it can take longer to boot after clearing dalvik.
But it always boots so slow.
I locked the bootloader and recovered to original Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M.zip through fastboot (renaming to PG76IMG)... And still problem persists... I'm starting to think that it might be hardware problem.

First, I would like to say im a newb with android and I'm stupid for doing this. Okay I have a tmobile g2 stock froyo rooted and I tried to install a different kernal called pershoots. Now when the phone rebooted, it goes into a bootloop.
Luckily I made a full backup 14 days ago in clockwork recovery. So I went into recovery mode, and did a advanced restore to restore system. That didnt fix it, so I restored boot. That seemed to do the trick and everything is working fine I hope . do I need to restore anything else that might have been associated with kernal? I don't know what I did wrong for this to happen, can anyone explain?
Pershoot works under Cyanogenmod only...
No cache? I've had problems when not wipe cache. dalvik cache wipe doesn't hurt with new kernel but make sure download was ok a lot of people have had problems with mirrors, websites, data etc etc. And if the rom is pre installed prior to installation id run fix permissions from recovery.
that is if ur using cwm recovery.

cleared cache partition too?
try going into "mounts & Storage" and formatting everything (except SD Card) and try again.

I have 2 ideas.
1. When you boot the phone, just press the button instead of holding it down like most people do. It will still boot properly and should cut out any chance of it booting into H-BOOT.
2. If it still goes into H-BOOT even just pressing instead of holding the button then factory reset, clear dalvik cache and install the zip all over again.
If the problem still happens then go to the original RobotoMod thread and post the problem there so the developer can see it. He'll have the best idea out of anyone.

I had the same problem...
i tried again except this time i did a custom installation and did not install gappsextra.what you do is when it asks you if you want to install google apps...select install but in the next screen uncheck all the apps(there are only 3)....that should do it.

did you try the custom installation like iv mentioned?
I'm having a similar problem
When I first installed RobotoMod I used the recommended settings, but after the reboot the phone just stays on the white HTC screen it was, at first i thought it was just loading, so i gave it a little more time (about 7 hours) but still nothing happened, so I tried using the custom settings and through multiple attempts and combinations all on the CM9 alpha it booted up, but as soon as it was done loading it put me straight into the lockscreen and wont unlock no matter what I do, I've tried AOKP but that just gets the 1st problem, and ive seriously tried everything and I haven't found anyone with the same problem maybe its just me, i installed using CWMR 5.02.8

Hey guys,
Got a very weird problem here. I have previously flashed a CM10 nightly to my One X (international) and everything has been fine for around 3 weeks. Decided i wanted to try our the ViperX ROM. Previously upon flashing this ROM it just bootlooped but after another try with a slightly different method, i managed to get it to boot and all was merry. After titanium restore i rebooted, and this once again put me into a bootloop. Cannot get the ROM to boot. Why is this!!! Switched back to CM10. :good:
You need to do

Still doesnt boot man, im sure i flashed the boot image properly. This is the rundown of my flash process:
1: install from sd
2: in recovery, factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache
3: Boot into fastboot and flash the boot.img
4: Reboot.
So it booted but into viper X, but after restoring with Titanium i was unable to get it to boot again.
I also tried "fastboot erase cache" to no avail
In fastboot type fastboot erase cache

Did you restore system apps or data?
Where does it stop booting, what is on the screen?
With tb, make sure you restore user apps only, none of the system apps.

Sorry forgot to mention I also used the "fast book erase cache" command.
As for titanium I restored all user apps and data and now that you mention it that could be the problem. I'll have another crack tomorrow and let you know.
Main reason I want to switch is I need much better battery life than CM10 but only temporarily. Can anyone recommend viperx as being a significant improvement?

It comes up with "HTC" vibrates then the viper crawls across the screen and it stops at the "htcONE" logo.
Restored apps and app data and guess what. Still doesn't boot. WHY! Going to just try apps, no data at ALL. Will report back.
I dunno why it won't start, double check you have the right boot.img (download it again and flash it again), in recovery erase cache and dalvik cache.
same issue
Hi i am also getting the same problem, i used the viper rom and others but it goes past the HTC logo looks as though it works but the lock ring is froze up and then it reboots itself over and over doing the same thing each time. Ive tried One_X_All-In-One_Kit_v1.2 and the manual CMD fastboot tutorial i dont know what to do to fix this, can anyone help me please?
EDIT* I seem to have it working now (fingers crossed), i used 'Nocturnal_Special_Edition_4.0_Odex' so thx to their good work that i now have a working rom for my phone phew
EDIT 20 MIN LAter* OK looks like i did something i shouldnt, it seemed to work, i made a change in the settings and then it rebooted and continued to reboot over and over so i tried installing a rom again and now it just stays at the htc quietly brilliant screen, what have i done this phone is now not so brilliant as its looking more and more that ive goosed it Any help apreciated.

Help please
Hello,
I have 1x (CID 203) unlocked and rooted with cwm recovery. I had Cyanogenmod 10 nighly on it, well in hope of no bugs like in CM10 I flashed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763240 to it. Well it seemed to work a moment but then the device started rebooting randomly. I couldn't boot to recovery (strange?), the recovery screen flashed less than a second and the phone started to boot normally again. After a few tries (and reflashing recovery) I luckily got into the recovery. Tried to restore a nandroid backup which I made earlier yesterday. CWM said that the restore was successful but the device didnt boot anymore. Only shows htc logo and cyanogenmod loading screen. But nothing happens. Well, then I flashed Android Revolution HD 10.3. (with wiping the system data and so on) but it wont load any longer than the htc one logo screen. Rom installed fine and I flashed the boot.img.
Now I'm able to get into recovery and fastboot and charge my phone but how could I safely and surely return my phone to stock or make the ARHD work without completely bricking it? I'm thinking that relocking my device is not very safe if the RUU fails to install. What do you think? Can the firmware updates cause this problem to happen? Can I flash ARHD 9.7.2 to my device? Too bad I can't ask these questions in the ARHD thread....
In bootloader my phone says
Code:
hboot-0.94.0000
radio 1.1204.104.14
Any advice is highly appreciated, I'm not ready to bury my phone yet
Edit. ARHD 9.7.2 flashed correctly. Any ideas why the ARHD 10.3 keeps bootlooping? Yes, I have flashed the correct boot.imgs.

If I restore apps only it does boot however any sort of data and it refuses to. Very annoying as I am not able to retain texts accounts etc. I have a feeling it's because I originally backed up on a jellybean ROM and the data just doesn't want to work on ics

Try the fast boot erase cache command and see if that solves the boot issue. If not make sure in recovery your have cleared cache partition performed a factory reset and also cleared the dalvik cache. Again if none of these work try re flashing the boot.img or perhaps try another rom that is known to be stable.
I unlocked and flashed TWRP (also tried CWM), the system only gets as far as the boot animation screen. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I can reboot into recovery, but the system never boot. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I should add "adb devices" lists the device as offline, when it's in the boot animation screen.
Rebooting into recovery and wiping the cache/dalvik cache usually works for me when it would hang on the boot screen.
The same thing happened to me. All I did was unlocked the bootloader and flash TWRP. Wiping cache didn't help.
However, I restored my device to stock by using the file Nexus_7_Restore.zip from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2381582
Then I flash TWRP again and it all worked from there.

Thanks yes. I was about to followup to myself on this thread. That is exactly what I ended up doing. I then flashed CWM (instead of TWRP, since I was worried the same thing would happen again) and now all is well. I'm now running CleanRom 1.3.

Just wanted to throw a "Thanks" in here as well. Used the unlock and root from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2385484
Installed TWRP and rooted. TWRP had trouble installing superSU for some reason, so I flashed CWM, which worked (or so I thought). Everything seemed fine for a day or so, then all my paid apps disappeared. Tried wiping the Store app data, wiped cache and dalvik, rebooted and was stuck at the little X boot animation.
Stumbled on this thread and tried the above, which worked. It left my bootloader unlocked, but my system is fully functional again. This time i used WUG's Nexus Root Toolkit 1.6.8 (was just updated to support 4.3) and reinstalled root and busybox. Everything seems to be working as expected now.
Hello everyone,
This is what is happening to me. I was trying to flash Miroslav's Cyanogenmod 11 RC2 with Philz Touch 6.07.9, but none of the recomended methods worked for me, I just got stuck on lg logo bootloop - I really want this rom but it is hard as f**k to flash -. So I tried to go back to CM 10.2.1 and got the "Status 7" error. Very frustrated, I finally used my stock recovery image and it worked fine.
From this point, i was recovering my apps and data using titanium back up and when it finished, a notification asked if I wanted the official system update. I refused it and proceded to reboot. Now the phone boots instantly to recovery mode and show the purple screen of Philz touch. First I wiped cache and dalvik and got the same bootloop. Then I wiped cache, dalvik and factory reset and got the same bootloop. Finally, I formated system, factory reset, wiped cache, wiped dalvik and flashed again my recovery image, and got again the recovery mode bootloop.
Any Ideas? Thank you for your help.
Best regards.
EDIT: I must clarify that when I flash my recovery image, it ALWAYS get suck on a part that says something like "installing android security". I have to press power button 10 seconds to restart but it boots normaly in the stock rom.

When in vain , unbrick your phone again using unbricking guide and use CWM , not all guide is working for the same type of phone . No need to wipe system clean cache watevr **** you were told unless recommended by developer and just factory reset then flash the rom

Thanks for the answer and the advice about factory reset. Yes, I had to unbrick my phone and by the way, still could not install miroslav's cm11 RC3 using Philz touch 6.19.3.
But I have another issue: I successfully got back to CM 10.2.1 but after I restored my apps using Titanium Backup, I rebooted the phone and got stuck on CM logo for half hour. I wiped dalvik and got the same result. Then wiped cache and dalvik and still stuck. What should I do? Flash again the rom? The restored data is from CM 10.2.1 so I don't see any problem....

check again what you restore, user apps will have no problem to restore but system apps will cause incompatibility to the rom and crash it

Glad it worked, make sure you untick 'system' in filter in titanium backup so that you can only see your user apps .
