personally I dont like it at all, the smart dock is better. but both suffer from a less then 60 fps to a nerds eye. Most people wont see the fps problem though but it bugs the crap out of me, so much that I tryed both and returned both.

Thanks for the help I'm glad posted this did not know it was less than 60 frames definitely not something I wanna replace for TV watching so how about the MHL 11pin dose that do full 60 frames thanks for the info glad I didn't waste the money on the all share

Netflix Quality

Anybody notice the bad quality of netflix on this phone??
If I had to guess, it would have something to do with the resolution and the larger screen. But yea I noticed that too!

Not true. Use the $25 credit media hub gave you in the box. I just watched roast of Charlie Sheen and it was so crisp!
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Yeah, its not the resolution because it looked awesome on the exynos version. I think it has something to do with the way the qualcomm crap renders some codecs
Netflix quality is already pretty terrible. Try loading something in HD and you will notice it is still pretty firm.

I hope so, Netflix looks down right terrible here as well.

There is an update to Netflix in the market. I did the update, then pulled up Tron Legacy. It started out terrible, but then built up the buffer and was fine after that.
Crisp picture
I just tried Netflix and get a very crisp picture. It might have to do with your connections speeds. Even when I stream Netflix at home on my PC, if I don't have a great connection, the picture is downgraded to accommodate whatever bandwidth I have, so every now and then I do get a very bad picture but generally it's pretty good (not great).
netflix looked like **** on my vibrant too hell it looks like **** on my cpu and xbox lol
Netflix picture quality is based on your connection. hell...if your picture is bad at home then you need to do something about your connection. I have great picture quality on my computer and sexbox360!
Netflix looked great on my phone earlier today. Was on WiFi on home and had no issues.

Netflix automatically adjust video quality based on the speed of your internet connection try it again on wifi if it looks bad and it should be better... i doubt its the phone since it handles 1080p blu ray rips fine

The same happened to me
Looked great on my phone....The quality of the image has nothing to do with this device, I can tell you that right now.
If your connection sucks Netflix will give you crap video. I can upload some youtube videos of me watching later.
I completely agree. Before the Update Netflix + Verticle lines issue made it look horrible. I have no problems on my second SGS2 in regards to Netflix streaming quality now.

Are you saying your second phone has a better screen or that the update fixed it?

A little of Both.
The Amaze looked brighter, had better vibrancy and better contrast than my first one.
With this second one the colors really POP..
Honestly the difference is like night and day comparing the two. IMO the verticle lines issue had a lot to do with it looking much lower quality while playing videos.

What's BlueRay? Didn't that die with DVD? I don't even have anything that plays plastic disks anymore.
Sorry, never was one to buy video tapes, DVDs and I won't buy BlueRay. Too many streaming and download options. I don't have a 90 inch so I'm not picky about resolution. BR will only be around another year or two.

"Just about" being the key words there.
Wife got the family a blueray player for Xmas last year and I let her know that we no longer needed, nor did I wish to continue collecting those pieces of plastic.

I might be one of the weird ones here, and my oppinion could change one day, but I NEVER want to purchase a film without actually owning a physical copy of said film. I know that some accounts are set up so that if your drive fails you can re-login and download everything again (limited to a couple times to stop sharing Im sure) but still, if my pc/ps3/bd player crap out I buy a new one and have hard copies of every game/film I had. if it was all on the machine I would have to buy the machine again AND possibly buy all the movies/games again.
Yeah i seen that the day after i got mine from sprint was upset but oh well **** happens

Not even close.
I like having BR disks. I share all three3D movies I get with co workers and family. Yes my buddy who is wealthy also let's me log into his Vudu account and watch 1080p stuff. But seriously a BR can deliver 50MB/sec quality. 99% of america doesn't have a connection that fast and no,I repeat NO movie provider let's you stream a movie at 50MB/sec also I have bought 1080p 3D movies off vudu and they ghost. Mgmt BR 3D's don't ghost for second. Love net flix. Love vudu but I think BR will be alive and kicking hard in 2-3 years to come. Because not many companys steam high quality 30MB/sec plus 1080p stuff. Tv's are not going to start using higher resolution soon there's main steam. I love BR and that's my short opinion that I Swyped from my galaxy s 2
Br is not going to die in a year. Majority of people want to have a physical copy. A nice bonus is lots of them include the dvd version too

Too much memory from video?

Everytime I record a 720 or 1080p video the file size is over 1gb!!! Is this normal, why? Because it's only like a 10 minute video.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Welcome to High Definition. That is just how it is. The file size is HUGE compared to Standard Definition.
I know from all of the HD Footage I edit at school.
Well when I download a YouTube hd video its not huge. Probably compressed though, I guess.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
yea dude sounds about right the other day i took a 1080p vid of my son and it was like 2minutes long at 297mb
Seems quite likely that it's recording at a very high bit rate (which is typical for high-definition video), which, from the two-minute example cited earlier, sounds a lot like 20Mbit video (2.5MB/sec, 150MB/min).
Anyway tk recoff at a lower rate but still hd?

You can try 720p which looks fine tbh. Just don't expect "OMGBBQ" details.
EDIT: Oops, didn't see that you stated you tried 720p also. 720p still should be less than 1080p though...

I think that is probably normal because today HD quality video format actualy need very big memoriez .. like a blue ray disk and many box office movie in HD quality have more great picture quality + sound quality than past format
Dam hadnt even noticed it was that much, I just checked a couple videos of my kids thay are like 2mins long and each one is over 200mb. Damn!

This is the exact reason Blu-Ray discs have to have a storage capacity upwards of 50 gig ... 1080 video is HUGE ....
Like someone else said ... Welcome to High-Def .....
You can pull them off and "compress" them with divx or xvid, but then you don't have true HD anymore ...
Anybody that thinks they can get true HD with some type of compression (unless some new alien tech has arrived) , is not actually looking at the facts, you can get HD "looking" video, but not true HD ...
Just my .02 ...

new here... found this forum googling this Droid photo attachment. figured id share.

so yah...
cool forum... love my droid Galaxy S3 and my Galaxy tablet.
I was googling this photo attachment product i saw on gizmag.com called Mobi-Lens and i found a couple of posts on this site about it so i thought id share it.
Us Android users dont get much gadgets/photo-accessories... this seems legit, even if you own an different manufacturer then Samsung, im sure it will work.
I got a red combo $60, beats my friends $80 olliclip for his iPhone... PLUS he has to remove his case every time AND only use the back side camera... SUCKER haha.
Now i dont have to lug around my DSLR when i go hiking or biking for some nice scenic photos.
just search mobi-lens on kickstarter.com or google it.
Welcome! Ya this is one of the best if not the best forum for all things mobile specially Androids!
I checked the item you speak off before and its cool however ill wait till it goes onto production as it is still under kickstarter phase.
Nevertheless our S3s have some amazing camera options, just wish it had SlowMotion video i myself had a One S after my S2 before I had my S3 and that was the only reason I miss the one s lol

Slow-mo fuzzy low res image

Has anyone tried the slow motion yet? I've taken several videos, at night, indoors and outside in bright day light and they all look very very terrible. They look as if they were taken in 480p scaled up. Actually they look like a crappy GIF animation.
Is anyone experiencing the same thing or is it just a problem on my end.
I'll upload a video if anyone wants to see.

Yep same here on ATT note 3. Defeates the whole purpose and makes it unusable.
I have the same problem.

Judging by the sample videos posted on YouTube, this is a widespread problem. Even the commenters there noticed how pixelated and fuzzy the image is.
Cmon Samsung... this is one THE best feature that people are looking for, yet you fail so bad.
This stopped me from purchasing the Note 3. With the locked bootloader, no hide application features and now this...
The one on the HTC one S has been the best slow mo cam I've used. Not even the iPhone was compares. I still can't figure out how to use it on the note.
