I love this video player, it has built in support for arm hardware decoding and utilizes the tegra 2 gpu beautifully!

Please be aware that this app is pre-alpha. It’s not available in the Android market, Download and install it at your own risk, but be prepared to enjoy a great video playback experience.
This is strictly for Galaxy Ace.
VLC Android

^^ Its VLC player
I want to start watching movies/tv shows on my Galaxy Nexus.
What is the best video format?
I see a lot of .mp4's are x264... is that x264 good?
Cheers,
I believe MP4 H.264 is best in the native video player would be best battery wise, as it is CPU/GPU supported not done in software like DIVX/XVID AVIs wit 3rd party apps
You could try this too, it plays just about everything, just change decoder settings to sw instead hw.

Mx player looks great! That is what i really expected...to just be able to throw a movie from pc to nexus without converting. I'm looking forward to trying one tonight. Do you know if there has to be some free space on the phone for it to be able to decode? After, are there two files, the original and the decoded?
Thanks a lot for sharing.
Thanks, using my Gucci Nexus on XDA premium

There is not 2 files after it decodes I don't believe u need extra space for it to decode it just does in the app itself I can see the files in the gallery but they only play using mx

I guess I should also say I'm not positive it will play everything. My buddy threw transformers 3 and the new planet of the apes on my phone, told me to download mx and he swears by it. So if does not play right away I would just mess with the decoder settings a little.

I'd also like to install this ;-)
The default video player is crap...
So where he go?
Is there any video player that can play .flv without lag? I know Mxplayer doesnt work even with, min-max 820mhz, smartassv2, and deadline.
And for mxplayer, should i use armv6 codec, or armv6 vfp?

Hardware platforms: ARM (ARM11, the Cortex A8/A9 or higher)
...........................
As I know in our Desire HD installed Cortex arm 7...
I think - this is not for us
But it actually works on my DHD just to let you know. On AOSP/JB Roms it works perfectly nice
