Hi all, over time the ROM I'm using has become a little glitchy.....mainly due to the inclusion then removal of various tweaks. I want to use Pepoluan's pristine wipe method, then re flash my current ROM (CM10 a2). However, I have some game progress/saves that I don't want to lose. What I'd like to be able to do, is locate these game save data files, make copies of them prior to wiping my phone, then re install them once I've re flashed the ROM and re downloaded all my apps from Google play. I don't have titanium backup on my phone (I'd rather not buy an app that I'm probably only going to use once). So I need to do it manually. Sounds easy don't it? Lol.....the thing is, I don't have a clue what the files I'm looking for are called.....and I've no idea where to look for them anyway.......
A Google search just comes up with apps that *would* do the job.....if only they were compatible with the games I want to save.....
If anybody can help, I'd appreciate it.........
Thanks in advance...

i think the game saves can usually be found in data/data folder usin a root explorer.. just dont know how they work though...
Use titanium backup to backup only those games and then restore them later. there is a free version

but i just dont know why gameloft saved games dont work,,,
it always FC,,, games like nova 1/2 ,,,, as well as Assassins creed,, Heroes of Sparta,,,, and other gameloft games,,,,
its such a pain in the a** knowing you;ll have to start from the top again,,,
I only have I Gameloft game installed....dragon slayer....gonna delete it anyway
The games I want to save are...
Hill climber
Temple run
Minecraft PE
Only the last one is a REAL must....I've created some fairly complex structures, but more important than what I've done, is what my kids have made in "their worlds"....REALLY don't want to lose that......

Well, i think some apps has save files under your sdcard/android/data, those com.blablabla folders, i know temple run's folder work because i backed it up and restored it successfully before but for others i don't know, maybe you can do the same for others too

I did some search, it seems there's the app "PocketInvEditor" capable of backing up the Minecraft PE data:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.zhuoweizhang.pocketinveditor
I don't have the game, though, so I can't tell if it works or not.

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!
I’m trying to transfer my scores etc for all four Angry Birds versions from my HTC Sensation running on Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 to my new Nexus 7 running on stock Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1
In the past I’ve used Angry Birds Backup from Sergio Patricio, but this app states that the files in Android 4.1 Jeally Bean are not readable. Why the files are unreadable I do not know, but I can confirm that I am unable to transfer my Angry Birds scores to my Nexus. As far as I know, this is also an issue for the other backup apps in the Play Store. Just like Angry Birds Backup from Sergio Patricio, the added option of backing up files to your Dropbox account (or another cloud service) would be a requirement as the Nexus does not have an SD card.
If there are no backup apps that work with Jelly Bean, perhaps someone knows how to do it manually.
Please note that rooting my devices is not an option.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Try datasync from the play store. Should work.
Apps by Whitney Champion work great if you are rooted. Just used them yesterday.
On JellyBean when APKs get downloaded to our device from PlayStore they get assigned a unique ID stopping others installing the apk from our device. Preventing piracy. The non readable files probably has something to do with that. :-\

I realize you said that rooting was not an option for you, but in the Angry Birds Backup app if you go to Preferences and check the Request Root box, it appears the app still works in Jelly Bean. Good luck.

Which Angry Birds Backup app are you referring to? The Rice Labs? I tried this and it did not work.
Has anyone found an alternate solution?
shouldnt you be able to copy over the the folder on the user storage, look around might be in android/ somewhere in there

This would be nice if I can do it like this, but I'm not sure if I can copy back onto a different model phone. I'm thinking of trying to copy everything over with ADB or just USB and then rooting my Nexus S, then copying everything back, and then use a backup app for Angru Birds.

Hello everyone. I got the CM9 rom and I must say I really do like it. But if I try to run crash bandicoot, I get the warning about epilepsy and then the game just crashes. This also happens with other PS1 games I have on there like Crash 2 and Tekken 3. Those don't even show the warning, they show a black screen and it crashes. The N64oid, Nesoid, Snesoid, etc. emulators works fine and FPSe works fine as well. Has this happened to anyone else? Any help is appreciated.
I'm not sure, but it might be that those games only work on Gingerbread, as Sony has never released ICS officially.

I see. is there anyone that can confirm this?
Psxperia and the Sony games from stock ROM do not work on any ICS or JB ROM.
Well, Im running stock and tried to push Crash Bandicoot to User and SD, but it ultimately failed and only left me with a .avec file so I decided to get the game back by downloading an APK (Does this count as warez?) and now i've managed to download the 500mb data, but getting the same result. I know the obvious idea would be to resort back and factory reset, but I've got over 300 apps worth so its not really the best idea if you understand what I mean.

Hm, I don't know. Maybe get titanium backup if you havent alraedy, back up crash bandicoot, uninstall it and restore it? That's all I can think of
Is there a way? I've tried Link2SD, Apps2SD and Titanium Backup and nothing works. I have games like Most Wanted and Modern Combat and take up 3GB already.

This has been asked a lot of times, so people won't rush to answer your question. I feel your frustration, however. Most people will suggest you just root as the be all to end all. But some people don't want to do that or don't really have the know how. At any rate, another argument is the internal memory is more than enough. Yeah, for people who just play basic games on their phones, and nothing more. For me... I am literally down to about 400MB of internal memory. I have REAL games installed on my phone, that take up GBs of memory, not mere MBs. I, too, have Need For Speed Most Wanted, in addition to GTA III, Asphalt 7, and a few other games that all take up over 1 gig of memory. I bought this 64GB memory, thinking I wasn't going to have anything to worry about, only to find out Samsung found another way to screw us over. It's like AT&T and Samsung have been working hand-in-hand to find ways to limit us. My card is basically useless. I use it for all the movies, songs, and TV programs I have... but I mostly got it for storing my apps.

I see, I appreciate you replying. Sorry for this thread but I do have one more question, about Titanium Backup. I want to make my micro sd the backup location but it isn't letting me. I'm copying the backups via My Files from internal to external. Will it work if I delete the original?

I don't know any way to get around this stuff without rooting... I'm using Directory Bind to move gameloft and EA games along with the cloudcache from the dropbox app. I couldn't get much of anything else running the way I wanted...
I move lots of big files to sd using directory bind. It has been working good for me.

Titanium Backup > Menu > Preferences > Backup folder location
I used ES File Explorer to create a folder on my SD card for this purpose and than selected it as the backup folder.

I know you can copy the backup file to your ex. SD card. You might get an error "checksum missmatch" when you restore it from the phone recovery. I know it will work when you flash it with oden. When you make the recovery. It stores it as a xxxxxx.md5: xxxxx.tar :xxxxximg files
Personally. I would copy the original file to your computer incase you need to restore it later via Odin.
Stock roms are available at Sam mobile forums.:good:
Swap memory cards
I found this script that turns your extSD card into your internal and vice versa. The script can be set to run on boot and so far for me it seems to be working with no apparent problems!
I'd post my screen shot and link to the video but rules about new members wont allow me.
youtube.com/watch?v=QUF7R0mmk00
seems a lot of people have errors that come up after a while about the scripting method
Ya, I heard about people having issues but so far I haven't had many. .. other than using ROM toolbox to run the script at boot because s manager would not run it at boot and you would have to run manually, which wasn't bad but I like not to have to think about it. Also, I haven't gotten close to filling up the 16gb which is also where I guess people have issues.

I'm not an expert (nor am I affiliated in any way with the developer) and YMMV, but I've had great success using the app GL to SD (available in the Play Store) to move game files onto the external SD card. To name just a few I have NOVA 3, Jet Set Radio, NFS Most Wanted, GTA Vice City, FIFA 12 on my Note 2 (16GB) and my internal storage sits at 2.68GB's. Before I rooted my phone with all the apps I had I didn't have room for the games I wanted, but now I have all the apps I want and space to spare.

This works - thanks dude! Finds all internal sd data and move to external sd. But you have to ensure the correct folder paths are set first and then use the menu options. Transfers one game at a time (even though it seems allow you to select multiple at one - tick only one each time). Also free on google play store

Aw nuts. I got my hopes up. It's only for GameLoft games (hence the GL I guess). I was hoping to move TTS and GPS offline maps and such.

Nope - if u go to settings and move to sd it will show data that can be moved - most are game data though. (also allowed me to move google earth and ebooks to sd too)
It says it's only for Gameloft games but to me it "seems" to move data from other games and programs as well. If one of the more expert members of the board could try out the program and say what's actually happening that would be great. Because based on what I can see the program does more than just address data from Gameloft games.

PPSSPP actually runs some games pretty nicely, but the compatibility right now isn't that good. ePSXe for psx is better than fpse imo, Mupen64 works okay, and My Boy! For GBA is good as well.
