I posted this in General, but have not had any responses.
I am currently using the stable CM10 and am wondering if there is a way to separate the screen unlock (simple swipe etc) from the security lock (pin or pattern) features.
I would prefer my screen to turn off after a few minutes or with power button, and then when reactivated require a swipe (puzzle lock etc) to access apps. The idea on this is preventing accidental app activation in a pocket etc, but having quick access to slider short cuts.
However, I would like it to require a secure pin or pattern to access after a longer preset time (some longer time out). The idea here is my phone is found or stolen from me, users can see my info on the home lock screen but cannot access anything else..
Is this possible?
Thank you ,
Don
Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to allow widgets in conjunction with a pattern lock screen. My widget locker setup works fine but part of it has a camera hot-spot using uccw. The problem is that every time I click on it, I must input my pattern to access the camera. This is the same with every other widget on my lock screen. I am confused because with the sense lock, you are able to access the camera without entering the pattern. It is only until you try to exit out of the camera that it'll ask you for the pin- this feature is something htc calls "tourist mode" I believe.
Is this possible with WidgetLocker? Why must the pin be entered in order to access any of the widgets. Is there a way to only require the pattern for the phone unlocking process instead?
Thanks
I have been trying to get Widget Locker working on my One but have hit an issue. I am thinking I may not be able to fix this without Root but I wanted to run it by the community to verify.
I have my phone linked to an Exchange server that forces a 4 digit pass-code onto the device. So from the default lock screen I swipe up and then get the keypad to unlock the device.
Widget Locker replaces the main screen and 60% of the time when I unlock the device it takes me to the keypad directly.
The other 40% of the time is the issue. When I unlock from Widget Locker it takes me to the default screen where I would swipe up. From this point I can ether swipe up and unlock or shut off the screen. When I try again it usually works perfectly.
Is there any way to get consistent behavior from Widget Locker without root? What I would expect would be to unlock and be taken to the keypad 100% of the time.
I would love to use widget locker, but I always get a 3-7 second delay with turning on my phone. Sorry I can't help you.

Go into Settings and set the HTC lockscreen to none. It forces the phone to only use WL, and you never see the stock lockscreen. Works for me,

That kills the security on the phone. We need to have ether a pin or password unlock to secure the device. Even without it I would want a pattern unlock at the least to keep it somewhat safe.
I expanded my search a bit and this seems to be a common problem on phones that have any sort of lockscreen security. What I cant understand is why it does work some times, but not others. It does not appear to be a timing issue but I cannot narrow down what else would randomly (apparently random) trigger the stock lock screen yet work other times.

No, it doesn't. The HTC lockscreen and the Security lockscreen are two different things. You can have the HTC lockscreen set to none, and still have the option to unlock with any of the various lock methods(i.e. PIN, Pattern, Face Unlock, etc...) I know this is true because I use it everyday. I use WL, have my HTC lockscreen set to none, and still have to enter a PIN to unlock my phone. And have no delay when using WL once the phone is booted.

And I am an idiot. You are completely correct. I am trying it now, thank you.
Edit: Working like a charm. If anybody else is having this issue the setting is under Personalize, lock screen style.
Thanks again!
Has anybody figured out how to turn the knock code on/off using Tasker? I would like to turn security off when I'm on WIFI and back on when I'm not. I know how to do it with a PIN but not with knock code.
It should work regardless of pin or knock knock code.
I have my set up the same way. To disable lock screen when connected to a particular Wi-Fi and enable when disconnected. When I get in front of a computer I will add more details for me set up.

First you will need two (2) Tasks Set up
Disable Lockscreen Keyguard Set Off
[a] In the task column: Hit the + button>Display>Keygaurd>Set to off
Enable Lockscreen: Keyguard Set On
In the task column: Hit the + button>Display>Keygaurd>Set to on
The Profile it self. I have mine set up to when I am, connected to my network(s) to disable the lockscreen
+ Button> State>Net>Wifi Connected
In the SSID Type in the SSID of the networks where you would like the lockscreen disabled. If you have multiple SSIDs separate them with "/", for example: XDA 1 and XDA 2 as SSIDs Type in "XDA 1/XDA 2" with out quotation marks.
Have Disable Lockscreen as the Enter Task and Enable as the Exit Task.

Not sure I that. But I don't think it would matter if you have exchange or not. But I haven't used it so not sure.
I have Gear Fit and I can't get to work with my G3 when I have set Knock Code. If I don't have any security on lockscreen everything is working good. Here is my settings. Could you please check it. Thanks.
These are working settings without Knock Code (sceen_1 and screen_2). And here are settings which are not working for me when I have Knock Code (screen_1 and screen_2)
I would appreciate your help.
If you are using Xposed then try "no lock home" module, this works perfect!

For some reason this doesn't really work - most of the time, sometimes it does. The tasks work fine if I run them but after a while the lock/keyguard is activated again for no obvious reason. What can I have done wrong?
Do you have another Profile set up, which toggles Wi-Fi?
That may cause it to not work appropriately.
Also, I have noticed if Disable Task is running, and you hit the "Home" Button, so some reason the task stops working.
Hi i have a similar question how do i set up a profile with tasker that when im on a trusted WIFI the knock code is disabled but to still have the lockscreen but with swipe?
im new with tasker thanks in advance for the help.
People I think knock code is a feature of the rom itself and for that tasker does not have that ability if you are running stock rooted. I am running the lastest CyanogenMod 12 and I got working perfectly a similar tasker profile. This is made posible by Cyanogen.
hi cpatel112
I have my profile setup as you defined and it works.
however, i have noticed that after a while, when i click on my home button on LG G3 it does not go to homescreen but flashed up my lock screen and then goes back to previous screen
also the recent apps button does not work - only the back button works
any ideas why this may be happening and did it happen for you too?
thanks

I am not sure as to why it does that to be honest with you. I have disable that profile. In order to have the nav buttons working as they should be, for some reason when you hit any of those it will take you to the lock screen. And for them to work as well, you have to go through the step.

I'm looking for app which allows to make the screen off (via e.g. double tap) without locking the 5X.
Without locking 'coz Imprint is associated with a PIN code, so using applictations like Screen Off and Lock requires re-enter a pin code.
This is annoying and time-wasting.
