Is this possible? Could it be as simple as editing some strings in your folders. Just wondering because if there is a better way without buying roam control I'd try it. Also, wish the sprint diagnostics app had that included :/
Thanks

Are you talking about data roaming? As in settings>more>roaming>tick the box?
I want to force roaming. Not just enable roaming.

Hi I'm running eg22 and I'd like to force my phone into roaming sometimes, for instance when I have 1 bar of sprint but my friend has 5 bars of verizon...instead of my phone switching to and from roaming when I so much as blink. I know sprint has been known to cancel contracts when over 300 and some odd megabytes have been used in roaming..so maybe a program that let's me roam at the push of a button and also logs data usage. Please help!!! Thank you so much in advance!

Yeah I was looking for something more homegrown. I'd love it if someone became motivated from the idea and decided to release something through xda. I really have grown to value this community. Apps seem to evolve faster on here.

Sprint is terrible in my area so I always force roam when im home and ive been doing this for about 6 months now with no problems, but Lately when I turn force roam on I get no service or 1 bar. Ive tried to reflashing roms and also updating profile and what not. Any help would be cool, thanks.
Maybe sprint saw how much force roam data you were using and cut you off

Yeah i was thinking that also, it sucks i get no service at my house.

That'd probably what it is. At least they didn't cut you off for roaming too much.

if i purchase roam control will i get fast 3g while roaming on verizons network or will it be slow. currently now when my phone goes into roaming i get very slow 3g data even if i have full bars
I always wondered how this works too

You have to use a prl that supports 3g roaming also. If your just using the prl that came with the phone then your prob only roaming on 1x even though the phone says 3g. Theres lots of threads on this matter however u might find some helpful info in this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906471 btw.....LTE roaming is impossible.
Besides roam control is there any other way to force roaming??

By loading a VZW PRL. There's a thread in the dev section with a bunch of them.

Or manually force your phone to only use the 850mhz band, which is basically what Roam Control does on the S3.
and how do i do that? can you please provide a link
I have a sprint S3, my buddy just got a s3 and is on Tmobile while showing him some stuff on his phone I noticed they have a setting for wifi calling in there settings.. It allows him to use his data connection to receive and make calls when he has low cellular signal. I can't find this anywhere on the sprint version. This would be extremely helpful at work when I have no signal.

That is only natively available on T-mobile phones. I wish it was available for us too, that would be cool.

Would it be possible to port it? Or is there an app that would do the same thing?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I've never done it, but there's a way to do it with a combination of Google Voice and a VOIP app.
As far as porting it, I'm not a device so I wouldn't know. I think it has more to do with how t-mobile handles it rather than something that's actually on the phone.

I actually do have Google voice integrated what voip app would I need?

Only app I know of that would be useful here is groove ip. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snrblabs.grooveip&hl=en
Ok if i have the sprint integration of Google voice on my phone? and i download Groove i should be able to use my cell number over wifi?
*on a side note what is the advantages of google voice with sprint integration?
I feel like I saw that feature on ICS and then it went away in JB.
I am traveling to Europe this weekend. While I am over there, I would like to disable all mobile data on my phone. Occasional I would like to allow only one or two apps to connect to the network while restricting all others. Is there a way to do that? Maybe an app?
Thanks for your help.

You can disable your mobile data and just connect to WiFi

DroidWall will do the trick.
