Hey friends,
Here's my problem: when I set silent mode on my Note 2 everything is ok - no sound, no vibration. But there's one exception. When I'm inside the FB Messenger app the phone still vibrates when I receive new message. That's annoying. When the app is in the background there's no problem - I get a notification without sound/vibration. Any ideas?
Bumping because I have the exact same problem. Running Omega and Perseus - a stock/touchwiz based rom. Any solutions
I also get this with Red Pill...
I have similar problem.

Hi there,
I'm using a Rhodium with the latest stock firmware (ROM version 2.07.407.1).
When my phones display is turned off, received messages (SMS) don't result in an alert until i switch the display back on. That's kind of annoying since it forces me to poll for messages once in a while by a quick look on the phone.
Any ideas if theres some fix for this behaviour?
Greetings
I rooted my slide 2 days ago and put CyanogenMod7.1 on it and it's running great except now my phone doesn't vibrate when I get calls or notifications. My girlfriend has a G2 (running the Gingerbread update, not rooted) - and hers hasn't vibrated since she's gotten the phone. Is there a reason why its doing this or how to fix it?
You didn't mention if you did or not, so I have to ask - are the settings set to have it vibrate on notifications?
Check your Sound settings - there is a setting about vibrating there. You can have it always vibrate, never vibrate, only in silent mode, or only when not in silent mode.
Also, there are notification settings for different apps. For example, in the Messaging App's Settings you can tell it to vibrate or not. Also, you can have different notification settings for the Gmail app.
So every now and then my notifications will just randomly stop. I will get texts but the notification will not appear on my status bar, and my notification light won't blink either. Phone won't vibrate, nothing.
Only starts working again when I reboot. Happened on 2 different rom and kernel combos. First time, CM9 + Jame Bond and now AOKP and Franco 181. Anyone know how to fix this problem? It's really annoying.
No my notification is not set to off nor do I have any power saving mode.
Do you have any secondary apps that cause the notification to seem like it's already been viewed/opened, such as SMS Popup?

Nope. Only stock messaging app.
Hi there,
I currently have a problem with my GNEX - whenever I get a call the screen won't turn on. I can hear the ringtone and the notification LED is blinking. When I push the power button, then it takes 3 - 4 seconds and the screen turns on. It only happens during the call, right after the screen immediatly turns on.
I've experienced this on AOKP and XenonHD now, on XenonHD I tried it with the latest AK kernel & fancy kernel - still the same. I got no clue what it could be, I just uninstalled avast! Mobile Security and rebooted the phone: no change.
Any ideas?

I also have a similar problem on Stock firmware (with Franco Kernel).
For me the cause for the screen not displaying when I receive a call is, something related to my cell service provider (Airtel India).
What happens is when ever I make a call or send an sms or use GPRS, after the service a message from my service provider will be displayed saying that how much I have been charged. If didn't discard that message either by clicking "OK", next time when ever I get a call my screen wont turn but the LED blinks.
I either use power button or screen swype (PGM2) to receive the call.
Exactly I don't which app/kernel is the culprit but at least in my case it is the cell service provider message which is creating the problem.
If I close the service message then my phone works normal. Hope this helps...
Hey raj,
good idea, but if that was the case then the problem should not occur after a reboot... Unfortunately it does. I'm certain that it was alright with the stock rom. Somewhere I read that undervolting can cause such an issue, but I'm using the default kernel values. Btw I use the Trickster to adjust the performance...

Ok it seems i figured it out by reflashing the phone step-by-step. The problem is lockscreen rotation. When the lockscreen is locked in landscape mode then this problem occurs. LS rotation was enabled right after flashing the stock launcher with rotation enabled, so maybe it's got something to do with it.
Now LS rotation is disabled everything's working properly.

FIXED -- SEE FIX BELOW
I have an odd problem. My TMo SIII receives text messages fine. However, the notification ringtone does not play until the phone is rebooted. I have notifications turned on, and it vibrates and gives a visual notification just fine. It's just the notification ringtone. All other notification ringtones work fine and notifications volume is turned up to full.
Any ideas how to fix this?
FIX: TURN OFF SMS IN GOOGLE HANGOUTS
