Could it be possible I have flashed a sim locked image and flashed that? If so can someone give me the correct unlocked rooted or unrooted sim free firmware 4.1.2 for Samsung galaxy nexus s?

Galaxy Nexus =/= Nexus S. Don't see what's hard about it.
Try restoring the latest factory image. The correct one for your phone.

How to update Bell S3 with Fido sim?

Hey guys,
I know an OTA update came out today, but after checking for updates all day, I still don't have anything.
I am using a Fido sim card with my unlocked stock Bell S3. Is that the problem??
Thanks a lot!

I'm on bell also and there hasn't been an update for my phone yet. Maybe it's just bell.

I have a Rogers phone that I unlocked and did not receive an OTA notification. When I manually checked for updates, there was nothing.
I had to use the Kies software... Which was very fast btw... But buggy at first, the program would not detect my phone so I had to reinstall the drivers/firmware for Kies and took the battery out of my phone for a minute. All in all, when it actually started to work, the whole process took about 15 minutes.

^ Nope, in fact you can even root without unlocking the bootloader and wiping your data

Are you the Guy over at Thunderbolt whose TB bit the dust?
Haha welcome, I think more GalNex owners had the Thunderbolt than any other phone, we just got hit so bad with waiting for ICS, none of us want that wait and uncertainty ever again.

Been playing with it all day, getting a feel for phone and battery. Ive git a 2350 battery in it i believe, and life seems pretty good. It did update to jb, and im amazed how fast phone is. If i had a good secure wifi tether, id almost not root, lol! Nah, i gotta see what this thing will do. Really liking so far though.

Should i update radios? Runnin liquid now, no 4g.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Do yourself a favor and if you haven't yet already learn adb and fastboot command lines there is no need for a toolkit for this phone. And to answer your radio question unlike the thunderbolt any radio combination works on any ROM you can update or change radios to see if they help you out but it shouldn't matter if you're getting 4g or not. Plus these roms never include radios..well from what I have seen all the radios can be flashed separately through the bootloader or some people have made flashable zips containing them.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
1. Get Gnex
2. Root/Unlock
3. Flash new radios
4. Flash new bootloader
5. Flash new ROM - I would vouch for Codename Android with Faux's kernel
that's my recommendation plan
Brace yourself, flash addiction is comimg.

How would I flash an att ROM for my tmo gs3

So the title says it all, I have a T-Mobile gs3 that is unlocked running on Att. How do I go about flashing att Roms to this phone, I've read many places its possible and I've never been steered wrong by xda so help me out?
Rob
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
You really don't need to. Its the same thing. Just keep a tmo ROM on. It will still work. If anything flash a radio. I know on galaxy s 2 radios are compatible. Not sure about the s3 since the att version has lte.

Yakju never received 4.2?

Has everyone gotten it? I googled it and it seems back in November it got pushed out. My girlfriends yakju just never got it. We've checked for updates many times and Idk why. Any reasons why? Or anyone know how we can get it?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I got it fine. Are you sure its yakju not yakjuxx etc?
Sent from my A100 using xda app-developers app
Not sure. What does that mean if it is? And how do we find out? It is the white nexus if that makes any difference.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Open Google Maps, go to Settings>About and it should say the build in there. If it's NOT yakju then it's a Samsung-supported device and they OK the OTAs not Google
Thats what we thought before. So how is that going to affect the update? How do we get it?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yakjuxx is under samsung i guess..

it is.
Looking at your signature you've not got a yakju unit as the model would be GT-i9250

I believe there is a method of conveying a non-yakju device to yakju. There is a guide in this forum on another thread.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yes, I had converted my non yakju to yakju. It can be easily done. Just head on to the Development area and have a look at the stickies.
I think you have the Verizon or sprint version? That'll be why. You can not convert them, you'll risk bricking your phone.

Really guys? I said its my girlfriend's phone. I'm posting from my Verizon galaxy s3 asking about her phone. So yes my signature says I535. She has an unlocked gsm galaxy nexus (white) running on t mobile's network. We bought it and out of the box it had ics we upgraded to jb and still waiting on 4.2. At this rate it looks like vzw will even get it before this one. Which is kind of pathetic. Anyone have any info on updates to "samsung controlled devices"?
Easier to just covert to yakju and be done with it

Is there a way to do it with a Mac? Or could someone link instructions? That would be greatly appreciated. We need to root first and unlock. Anybody have instructions to do that on a Mac? Is there a one click out there?
Edit: spelling
Read the sticky on going back to stock in General, the factory images from Google work in Windows, Mac and Linux

Is there a root method in there for Mac? Or is that just for flashing the yakju firmware? I can't find something that works out how to root on Mac
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
1. Flask yakju image
2. Flash CWM/TWRP
3. Flash the SuperSU ZIP

I found a mac toolkit. I'll use that. Anyone got a link to the yakju software? Do I flash it like I'd flash anything else? Roms, apps, ect.. is it a zip?

Now that my phone is unlocked on T-Mobile do I install ROM for T-Mobile or stay with ROM for ATT

You Must install roms from the company you got the phone from. Doesn't matter if you go to another carrier. If you don't install AT&T roms on an AT&T phone, you will brick your phone!
