Have you tried holding power+ vol down+ home button? To get into download mode? If you can do that then you'll be able to flash the stock rom again
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium

Formatted all, Phone will not boot.

Ok. So my phone was not factory resetting right. Could not mount sd ext was the error. I ended up formatting everything in CWM in advanced menus like an idiot. Do I just re flash something through odin to fix? My phone will not boot past the GS3 screen but I can still get into recovery.
You deleted whatever Rom and kernel you had. Put a Rom on your sd card and flash it through recovery.

Ok that definitely won't work. Now i plugged my phone into the wall, it wont charge. It will vibrate, show the battery icon with a loading icon inside then go black. Won't boot and looks like its not charging...... am I screwed?
Edit: I mean i guess i could charge the battery on a different s3 so i can boot back into recovery or dl mode but what from there. Is there any way I can restore all of the stock files? I'm at a complete loss for what I should do next...

what rom did you flash in recovery and what recovery are you using? what was the error you got while flashing a new rom in recovery?
as mentioned earlier, if you want to flash a stock rom, you'll have to odin it. you should still be able to flash other roms in recovery regardless of what you wiped. every time i flash a new rom i wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik-cache.
semi noob?
Think ur a little more than semi noob. If u wiped the system that is why you dont see a battery charging. Those files are in system. Which u wiped. U still have recovery so DL a rom, go there and flash it. You'll be back in buisness. Don't necessarily need Odin here but if you don't know what to with it u shouldn't be here yet. Go back and read up a little b4 u brick.
hey man if you still having problems pm i can help buddy!

I am always entertained by people being rude while trying to "help" I hope you feel better about yourself now that that is off your chest.
For the record. It is not as simple as flashing a new ROM. Doesn't work. Thanks for your very insightful advice though.
I need to find a way to get my battery charged for now. I will post more when i can get into my phone. Thanks for all the responses so far. I will try ODIN when I get my phone booted up but I'm skeptical about if it will connect to the computer or not since it won't charge. We shall see.
This is what you need to do.
First. The above poster is correct. IF you formatted everything, that means you probably formatted system. If you do this and dont install a ROM immediately afterwards, your phone will just boot loop since it has no system files to load. Flashing a ROM should fix this problem....unless the problem runs deeper. If you ONLY formatted your phone shouldn't be soft bricked....it simply has nothing to load besides CWM. If for some reason you do need to use ODIN to get your phone working again, watch this step by step video by qbking. Since I am new, and apparently an XDA criminal, I cant post a direct link. so search QBKING Galaxy s3 unroot on youtube.
P.S.
For future reference...make sure you know exactly what your doing before you start doing things in clockwork mod.
A 500 dollar paper weight will keep you up for a few nights, trust me.
I accidentally flashed Google wallet AS my recovery. A long 10 mins with odin and a stock root and my phone was exactly how it was before my accidental loss off recovery. Read up on odin, and only use pda function. One mistake and then you learn to check what you're ABOUT to do.

hmmm...if you can get into recovery then you are only soft bricked, so don't fret it's okay it can be fixed. We've ALL done it at least once
Download Odin to your comp or any derivation thereof. Download your stock firmware and put your phone into download mode and flash back to stock. Or reflash whatever you were flashing, but without a custom recovery, it might get a little complex.
How did you root on stock recovery????

People really need to do some research. If you don't know how to recover from a bad flash or boot loop, you should not flash anything until you do. A good rule of thumb: before you flash anything, make sure you know how to recover your phone if it borks something.

Dont panic, you got a soft brick so you can restore it Odin. Next time backup your current rom via Android before flashing. Get on Odin, it is your friend and will save your phone

It sounds like not everything was wiped so when it tries to boot up your rom, there's something conflicting it. Or maybe the system partition was wiped so you're not booting anything at all. So just odin back to stock like what everyone has been saying.

My phone would not even go into download mode without vol up/down then plug in USB. I was panicked on the inside, but xda and YouTube got me through it.

I must be the odd ball out. Before I decided to even attempt rooting for the first time, I read about everything involved (cwm, superuser, etc), and read through all of the threads so I knew everything that could go wrong during the process, and how people were getting out of it. Then, before I attempted to flash any mods or custom roms, I read some more to thoroughly understand what a bootloop was, what a brick was, what order people were doing everything in to get the best results, and again, what people were doing to get out of "trouble". So, before I did anything, I knew exactly what could happen and exactly what everyone was doing in the event of a bad flash, etc. Personally, I will never flash anything to a $600 device without knowing exactly what it does or what it could potentially do if I screw up. And I always make sure I know how to get out of a bad scenario before I get into one.

I cant get into my recovery, im lost what to do.

Ok you guys can ripe on me if you chose. I probably deserve it. But heres my little issue.
So i flashed the newest parinoidandroid rom 2.54 and everything worked other than when i was on a call there was an echo. So instead of reflashing i did a restore. Thought i went back to the backup i had made 15 min prior but i guess i chose the wrong one. I chose my stock rooted backup. But i cant boot it back into recover. The phone just loads up. Never ran into this problem and im not seeing anyone else that screwed up as i have to find my solution without making anything worse.
Is there someone who could point me in the right direction please?

mistakes happen. besides you gotta learn somehow and some (especially me) learn the hard way.
if you can still get your phone into download mode (ie power+volume down+home) you can flash a new recovery via ODIN
ODIN: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722686
**install the drivers from here first if you havent already**
Recoveries: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900492&highlight=odin+recovery
make sure to uncheck the "update bootloader" option for good measure anytime you use odin or you might end up with a brick
good luck!
edit: oh yeah! make sure to add the recovery.zip to the "PDA" slot in ODIN

Ive been in this position a couple times myself unfortunately. I formated everything internal/external SD cards and system, which left me with no bootable rom and no backup to backup from. (awesome)! so what i did one of the times this happended was 1. downloaded a rom TWRP flashable of course. 2. Placed the rom on my USB thumbdrive. 3. i had a usb otg stick that i was able to mount with TWRP and flash. and was back in business!!
another time i did this i used another phone (you could use your computer too if you have an adapter) I downloaded the TWRP flashable rom on to the microsd card, Stuck the card back in my phone and flashed it that way. again back in business!
Then of course there is the above mentioned way to Odin back to the very beginning with stock. Hope this helps and you get it figured out. But it does sound like your phone is totally fine, just need to figure out how to wake her back up. LOL.
Returning everything back to stock via Odin is the answer to your woed. As long as you're able to get into download mode (do not confuse download mode with recovery), you're golden.
