How can I disable wallpaper scrolling? Do I just need to download the stock tw launcher and replace the current one with that? Since the rom is odexed I would need to delete the .odex files as well correct?
Thanks in advance!

wallpaper scrolling is dependent on the launcher used. It can be disabled inside the launcher settings. No need to delete anything.HTH
There are no launcher settings for the touchwiz launcher

It depends on the wallpaper. I use a live wallpaper called Water Drop. It gives you a ripple effect similar to the stock unlock screen when you touch it. In the settings for it you can choose whether or not to scroll along with a bunch of other options. You can also use it with whatever picture you want as the background so it looks like you want it to.
I think it's ROM specific. Mine won't wallpaper scroll unless I select the option in AROMA during install. I use FreeGS.
It is launcher dependent, for example apex launcher supports it. I do believe there is a modified tw launcher that supports it, but I couldn't tell you where.

TW comes in different variations, which are ROM specific.

Hi Guys.
Is it possible to use the original android launcher for the Galaxy S2 (ICS 4.0.3.)? If so, where can I get it?
Now TouchWiz is installed and tells me not at all.
Thanks to all

yes, and if it does not work after that, try to reboot your phone
Alternatively, you could just download the Nova Launcher from the market. It's also based on the AOSP Launcher, but more customizable. You can make it look and behave just like the stock launcher, though.
It feels a bit more polished than Trebuchet to me ATM.
I found ApexLauncher on Play Store. A little bit better as nova

afaik none of the three support folders or tabs (to emulate new pages in TW) in app drawer, so TW still has some use
Hello guys,
I tried apex and nova .. not bad, but not allow you to create folders in the app drawer: (
Unfortunately this is a big problem .. I prefer the theme golauncher ics (golauncher is free but the theme costs about 1.50 €).

Is there any way to transfer over the tw launcher used in the last few beta roms? I really liked the transition effect of it.

On the official ICS with nova all samsung widgets work like a charm...
Has anyone been working on this? I like the tw widgets and the ease of the ics widget/app drawer. If not i am pleading to the wonderful devs. Is this possible?

You can flash Calkulin's E4GT 2 Rom. After first boot you can choose to use TWLauncher as your default launcher. If it doesn't work, go to
Settings>> Manage Applications<< Scroll down to "Launcher" and clear default

I know that.that is not what I'm asking.I'm asking about a blend between ics and tw. Using the general tw launcher with the app drawer from ics that way the tw widgets arent sized all messed up.

modifying the app drawer to behave like stock ics would have no impact on widget size.
the stock tw widgets are obviously not compatible with the ics launcher because they are made for TW. so again i would like to see a modified TW launcher with the ics app drawer....

I think there's some confusion going on here. Widgets are not all necessarily launcher specific. There are some that are optimized for a certain launcher (as in TW) but that doesn't necessarily regulate them to only being used on that specific launcher.
If you're looking for an ICS look and feel I'd recommend either Apex or Nova from the Play Store.
My personal favorite is Apex. If you're worried about keeping the widgets looking nice you can long press a widget and then resize it. You also have the ability to customize the number of rows and columns to get it feeling 100% perfect.
Nova has a lot of the same things and some people prefer it over Apex but most of the advanced features require you to buy the pro version.
Here's a screenshot of a TW optimized widget I resized in a variety of ways using Apex.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
I'm on nova and I changed the number of columns and rows to Max and added force allow to resize Widgets so I kinda have them working

I haven't been able to get wallpaper scrolling to work on APEX and NOVA launchers but it does work with GO launcher EX. I have tried to set wallpaper using app-Wallpaper Wizardrii™. Also tried using the TW to set wallpaper and then change my launcher to APEX/NOVA. Still no scrolling.
Any ideas?

Apex scrolls for me, but it needs to be enabled. In the Apex settings, under Homescreen section you have to enable multiple screen scrolling or something like that.
It depends what ROM you're on....I heard its mostly disabled since Samsung got sued over it. Works on cm9 with trebuchet and nova.

I can confirm this works on the SM-N900V.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462912
Used Root Browser to rename /system/app/SecLauncher4.apk to SecLauncher4.apk.bak and SecLauncher4.odex to SecLauncher4.odex.bak. Pasted in the new SecLauncher4.apk and reboot.

Given that this is modified, are we able to modify app drawer button placement, icons, icon sizes, etc?
Or is it strictly stock TW but with 5x5?

Stritctly stock TW at 5x5. He has variations, with rotation and app drawer size. I do prefer Nova, with all the gestures and icon customization's, but, thought I would give this a try. I will never understand why they went 4x4 on a screen this size.

Oh ok. I like the TW widgets (calendar, Action Memo), which aren't available when you use a different launcher, but I don't like the lack of customization. Oh well.
I have seclauncher4.apk, but I don't have seclauncher4.odex
I didn't have that odex either worked for me and all widgets work on cleanrom

How did you theme your icons in TW ?
How did you flashed this? Mine says failed and I've redownloaded.

Download the apk, select copy, find the original, rename with .bak at the end, then paste the download into the same folder, reboot.

Nice ... confirmed using the rotation version: " Desktop: 5x5 Menu App: 5x6 Choice of widgets: 2x3 (stock) Dock icon: to 6 " on HyperDrive RLS4...
Don't need any crazy launcher mods but I like this stock look with more columns and rows... and I need my landscape mode... This is smooth
Super dim with lux cuzz I'm lyin in bed
Would this work on the T-mobile Note 2 with 4.3 update?
It's worth a shot, just make sure you have a backup just in case. There is likely a variant for the Note 2 specifically, there were when I had the S3.
I'm a new XDA user and new to rooting so please bear with me. I am simply looking for a TouchWiz launcher mod (I think mod) that allows me to use a 5x5 app format. I have the SGH-I317 with build: JZO54K.I317UCAMH3. Can anyone help me out?
You just need a different launcher...
Give Nova launcher a try from the play store..
No root required ...and it gives you the options to grid up to 6x6 I believe ...
Otherwise ...to get TW launchers with grid changes you would need root and a custom rom most likely ...g

I haven't had the best experience with launchers from the play store. Had a go launcher before and it was just too much. I went with the root because I figured I could just mod the touch wiz or flash a better touch wiz Rom.

Never mind. I gave up looking for a mod and downloaded the Nova Launcher. VERY easy to use, customizable the way I like and very smooth.
Now the only question I have about having multiple launchers is... How do I prevent them both from running at the same time? I already set the default that when I press the home button, it goes to the Nova Launcher. And then in Nova Launcher settings "swiped away" the touchwiz launcher. But is it still running in the background? Do I even still need it? If I don't, how do I remove it? And no worries, I have a backup from before I installed Nova.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Once you swipe away the tw launcher you have set nova as default. Only the default launcher will run. I would not remove the old tw launcher as it can be a backup in case nova acts up. In other words, its good to have multiple launchers installed. Only one launcher is active at a time.
