Sync Play Music Library with App outside US - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
Loving my new note. Truly amazing device. Coming from a Galaxy S2.
So, I live outside US. But was able to create an music.google account faking my location.
It worked on my PC's browser and on my Nexus 7 (where the google music app comes pre installed) syncing all my albums.
Tried to install the music app on my new note. But it didn't show my library in the cloud. It shows just the music on my sd card.
How can I sync my library? It's weird because I'm outside us, but on my nexus 7 it worked perfectly.
Thanks guys!

Help with Play Movies

Google's Play Movie service is now available in Australia, but the app is hidden in my app drawer (I'm guessing because the service was not available previously and Google hid the app).
I rented a movie but I'm unable to watch it. When I choose YouTube to view it, it says unsupported codec or something.
When I search for Play Movie in the Market, it says that its installed.. but its not listed under "My Apps".
How can I get Play Movies to appear so I can watch movies?
Will greatly appreciate any help.

Same for me. It is listed as installed but I dont see it or can open it.
Is there a way to unhide it?
If you're rooted, use Titanium Backup to defrost it.
Mostly Movies, Magazines, Books and Sound Search (Google Ears) are frozen by default if you're outside US or Canada. I said mostly because for some users in some countries the apps are there.
Cheers!

Best Office Suite [Poll]

Hi Everyone,
I'm interested in all your opinions in a poll for the best Office Suite app (paid or free) to run on the Nexus 7.
My only real personal requirements are:
Google Drive integration
Full (as much as possible) editing of documents
Integrated fonts
Autosave
It's interesting to see that last month Google acquired Quick Office too!
Your thoughts...and more importantly reasons for your choice!
OP: good question. I was frankly quite disappointed that the new, improved Google Drive only allowed offline editing, but not offline document creation.
Galaxy Nexus / TMobile / Oakland
Thanks for the reply malcontent510, I had noticed that feature was lacking too and to me with the acquisition it is quite plain that eventually Quick Office + Drive will merge and it will be a force to be reckoned with. Until then one of the £5-10 ($7-15) range of apps will do the job I think, what was your personal pick?
on the phone I have experience with quick office, documents to go and preferred quick office.
On the tablet(nexus 7), I tried quick office pro hd and really like it so far.
I'm still learning how to use it but it is visually appealing to me & I love that I can sync my dropbox, box, drive accounts with it.
Vote= quick office pro hd

Thanks ateebtk, so can you open/save to/from Drive offline and then sync your saves when you're back online?
Are there several fonts included?

Alright..there are 19 fonts included.
Won't let you save file on drive without Wi-Fi.
You are forced to save on local storage without Wi-Fi.once you get Wi-Fi, you can easily drag files from local storage to the Google drive account very easily using the file explorer built in the app.

Does it Autosave in the background?
I like king soft office

Quite a few votes for Google Drive/Docs, I do like the app, but you can't work offline unlike the others...
phantasybm does KingSoft have Drive integration?
Bump
OnLive Desktop looks pretty good, only downside is the need for a decent internet connection.
Hey ben, that's a very interesting app! Very cloud based but if you were at home/in an office with Wi-Fi then it could be worthwhile.
I just came across this app in the store that you might want to check out as well...
CloudOn

How did you install Quick Office Pro HD on the tablet? The app page on Google Play says it's not compatible with the Nexus 7.

A full featured, MS office compatible office package would be the "unreleased" SoftMaker Office Mobile for Android.
They have a free release candidate version you can download from their website and try.
This is the only one I've ever found that's 100% compatible with Office 2007 and 2010 without any formatting changes, etc.
It's really a heavy package tho. it includes "word", "excel" and "powerpoint".
Interesting find compusmurf! Have you tested it?

Officesuite HD. Works really well and works with a number of cloud services.

I use OfficeSuite Pro- It was Amazon's free app of the day a few months ago and I have no real complaints with it. Nothing particularly spectacular about it either.
Does anyone know if the Google Drive app allows you to save directly to .docx/.xlsx?

Google Sound Search (For UK Nexus 7)

Not seen this mentioned, probably because the US ones have it as stock.
As Play music isn't available over here, Google have frozen the app out on UK N7s. If you've got Titanium backup installed, just defrost "Sound Search For Google Play 1.0.1" and it will now appear in your widget list.
Obviously it can only be used for song identification, if you click the widget after it has identified a song it will just open a Chrome page letting you know that Play Music isn't available in your country.
It works extremely well, just as you'd expect from a Google search product

Just a note, the OS refreezes it when you restart the device which buggers up the widget. You just need to defrost it again and put the widget back on the homescreen

I've discovered it yesterday, along with Google Wallet, Books, Magazines and Video... All of these were frozen in my device.
Great stuff.
If your in the UK. Use a free us proxy server to sign into play music once. And you will have play music from then on

I used Spotflux to get onto Play Music on my PC (Lets you download Play Music uploader and use your 20,000 song allowance) but it still won't enable you to buy music from this widget.

Air twist/double twist
Airdroid allows you to wirelessly connect to an android device through a Web browser and manage/upload to it.

The doubletwist solution is great but if you don't want to spend money non it then you can use win amp on the PC along with win amp on android to do the same thing.

Airdroid will do what you are describing.
If you are wanting to listen to your music just load it all to Google music.
Edit: get yourself off the apple teet.

awesome! done and bought! just the job!
Isyncr is my preferred app.
+1 to iSyncr, very easy to set up and get running and it's worked flawlessly for me so far. I hate that I have to go through iTunes at all but that's just how it went for me back in my pre-Android days, but iSyncr really worked very well. Well worth the 3 bucks.

Can Poweramp/MX Player play files through Nexus Media Importer?

A little confused on how NMI works. Can any app just play whatever is on a flash drive mounted in NMI? Trying to convince myself to keep my 16GB
Thanks!

yes. except pics. for some reason, they wont open with an app like quickpic. But you can watch movies and listen to music via 3rd party apps
