Make it short and sweet I need to call Verizon to try and get a replacement.. They're going to ask me some info that's on my about phone screen but I have custom roms and kernels installed..
Could someone with a stock phone please take a screen shot of the about phone screen so I can provide the correct answers when asked

Thanks for trying! If you're using the new xda app it's prolly related to that.. I read somewhere that people are having issues uploading pics

It's not related to the rom.. My mic cuts out like half the other users and we have done plenty of trials to see if it's related to roms kernels 3g 4G... Anything you can think of it's been tested.

If you're so sure it's a hardware issue wouldn't you have to send it back? In which cause they'd notice you've voided the warranty with root and/or custom ROMs?

You realize it's easy to tell whether a phone has been unlocked, right? Potentially, Verizon could see the flag has been set and tell you to go pound salt.
Also, the mic cutting out *COULD* be a software issue. You said it happens to like half the people, but I've never had it happen, and I know 4 people with the phone that have no trouble. That's 0/5, which is less than 1/2.

It's real simple.. I didn't post this to argue with people. If you're willing to help me out then thank you. If not, then shut the hell up.
Look at the topic "microphone cutting out mid call" I never said it's hardware or software. But I do know it's not related to my rom. I've had Verizon replace my phone already for this issue and to be quite honest I'm looking to get a different phone because I'm sick of this one screwing up.
The issue I'm having is totally irrelevant, I just need a screen shot so I don't have to go back to stock 4 days earlier than necessary.

It's not lazy by any means because in the time it's taken me to respond to your annoying posts I could have un rooted and locked my bootloader.
And explain to me how it's stupid? It's just working around the system which I know doesn't work because I've been through it before. If this is my first time doing it then I'd agree with you, but why do I need to return to stock to give some Verizon tech that doesn't even know if my phone has a removable battery or not answers to questions that doesn't matter.

What they're likely going to ask is Android version, baseband, build number, etc. to check if you're updated to 4.0.2 or if something got corrupted or whatnot. It's not like they're going to ask what the kernel version is.
Why don't you guys stop being dicks and just help him. Go troll somewhere else. He obviously doesn't want to sit stock for 3 days. Who would? I'll get my Buddy to send me a picture for you bro. Give me a few

I am pretty sure they do the whole refurbished thing like 4 times before offering a different phone. I had to do this with my old fascinate.

Okay, I got a Galaxy S3 about a week ago, rooted, installed rom manager and left it mostly alone...... Today I tried to install a rom and it is now completely unresponsive(no matter what buttons I hold down)
This is what I did:
1. Flash Clockwork using Rom Manager
2. selected "Install rom from SD" and picekd the rom I had downloaded(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735850)
3. rom tried to install but failed, error code 7 i believe
4. CWR warned me that the phone might try to Flash the system recovery on boot and asked if I wanted to prevent it... so I let it do it's think
5. phone *reboots* but does not turn back on.....
When I plug it in to the computer it is recognized for a second(windows does the usb beep) then fails....this also happens when I try the button combinations
Pulling the battery/sd has NOT helped
flashed an international rom phone might be bricked. Hopefully it didn't actually flash and you can odin the phone back to stock.

If you do the exchange through tmo, it will go through just fine regardless of where you bought it. This is not an invite to argue, I'm stating facts from experience.

I suppose they could have changed it since I did it the last time (Sept) but that would be crazy if they did. I get most of my phones by trading etc. And have always had them replace phones if needed (since g1 times). But I've never actually said to them that I didn't buy it new, and I've never had them ask. Maybe it's one of those things that it would be too much work to keep track of, but they can deny it if they know? Cause it could be from a different line on the account that had an exchange a few months ago so the imei wouldn't match the receipt anyways. They would need to hire an entire department to go through all of the exchanges.

This is why people shouldn't hack their phones unless they educate themselves on what they r doing. Good Luck
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
JTAG it from mobiletechvideos. Don't use the warranty method. You made the mistake so man up and pay the $60 or so it will cost for them to fix it. They have great support and will keep you informed the whole way through. Using the warranty method will just jack insurance and cost up for everybody that does their homework before flashing willy nilly. Good luck.

I just got my phone back from MobileTechVideos.COM and it works perfect. They are the best hope if you hard brick.
Hi, I've read numerous posts relating to brick bug for SGS3 and other phones. Do we know if our beloved SGN2 phones are affected? I checked my phone with eMMC check and it does appear as if its using the same affected memory controller and it looks like it does, so are we next in line for this issue hats affecting the SGSIII and other phones?
Few minutes before I saw this post, I installed a application called "eMMC check" form play store and for the result i got "No san chip". Can anyone who is aware of this problem tell me what does that really mean. Does that mean having No san chip causes the brick, or having the san chip causes the brick or this application is to fool guys like us who is too much worry about this problem.
This app is for an older phone with brick bug. This is of no use for galaxy s3 or note 2. You will get the correct info about your hardware but brick status is of no use to you.

By the way "no. sane chip" means the phone does not have brick bug hardware. It is good. But as I said it is of no use.

I get the same message on my ohone (thats its sane) but after reading online I do have the ill chip.
My phone is ith custom FW and I dont want it to die suddenly. Its got 2 years warranty and it will be sad to loose it because of a stupid bug and not get it repaired.
I might go back to stock abd reset the counter to 0 and wait and see how thos develope later.

yeh its kind of worrying if the S3 has the issue, since Note2 shares so much of its little brother, perhaps Samsung should get on top of this before it starts to impact peoples phones. Since the Note2 isnt that old, its possible will start to see this issue in the not to distant future. Is SAMSUNG not good in the flash memory market anymore?

The guy who sold me the Note 3 was into custom ROMs. When I mentioned Knox efuse and trade in with Jump he said no one there would even know what to look for at trade in and that flashing should be fine. He said the same thing about warranty returns. The insurance company would just take back the device.
But...he did mention that trade ins with Jump would end up as refurb devices. So its possible that there might be someone along the repair service chain knows whats what.
I traded my note 2 in today, running tweaked rom and custom recovery. Still got $275 for it. A lot of the phones get wiped and reflashed without even being checked to see if they were tampered with

Note 2's probably going to go on sale like the s3 did when s4 came out and s3' were selling like mad because the price drop so maybe they want to have refurb stock to offer in case demand gets high and they run out of new note 2's due to a sale on note 2' s

$275? I wish I wasn't such a nice guy sometimes. I ended up giving my mother in law my Note II.

I don't think the eFuse matters unless you're getting it warranty repaired by Samsung and even then, they may not bother to check if there's no custom ROM running. Most people don't know about it or even care. I sent a Droid4 to Moto for warranty repair and there is something similar (it may or may not be the same) that gets flipped when it's rooted. They didn't care and repaired the defect.
Just found this thread Googling for the same thing. I was told by the guy at the T-Mobile I went to that they don't care at the store when trading it in, but he's not sure what would happen when it got to wherever they send it and see it tripped.
Basically what happens is if it is tripped your rights to the extended warranty are revoked going forward. You won't be able to add the extended warranty or jump for 12 months plus you pay out of warranty fee.

I just got my replacement and it is bof5. But I am getting a new pone soon so I might not root it. I went through the insurance company.
It all depends on what they give you. I had 2 replacement phones in the last 4 weeks. The first one came with BOF5. The second one came with BOB7. I think they gave me the BOB7 phone because I complained about severe lag on the BOF5. Maybe it was a coincidence I'm just glad they gave it to me lol
I'd say wait until the new Moto X comes out and get that, worth every penny for the insane specs you get. I cannot wait to leave the Note 4. Samsung is by far the worst brand I have ever moved to lol but I make the best of it by developing and giving support to others!
