Someone posted about it about a month ago. I tried it, but saw little improvement and it affected something on my phone. Maybe GPS, but I can't remember.

Huge difference on my Phandroid build.
I've seen this as well but am skeptical, and mainly because most of the things he says it fixes aren't problems at all for me.
This isn't the most powerful phone anymore, but I have Never had it take more than a second to load the home screen when I hit the home button, nor do I really experience any gaming lag.

Yeah lots of people in that thread with older single core devices or lower are seeing the difference. More than dual core or better like ours.

Hmmm. I haven't tried navigation yet. And I can't really ever judge batter life because I just let them run out completely all the time and pop another one in from the wall charger. 2 batteries and wall charger was only 6 or so bucks on Amazon. Best thing I ever bought.

Not that I know of, I don't think its possible. You'll have to delete some stuff to make room. Things like the wallpaper APK's if you don't use. The touchwiz social things, stock widgets etc. There is plenty you can remove that you probably never use.

i kind of have to agree. its pretty much the same as voice commands already except there is a voice that talks back. however, the talking voice only works on occassions for me on top of it FC and/or lagging. and i've tried every install method possible, it just doesnt seem to like my phone. plus i've noticed it drains the heck out of my battery.

It was wise marketing/defensive move by Samsung. Now a sales person can say if you only want an iPhone because of SIRI you can check out the galaxy s3 as it has more extensive voice commands over other Android phones.

It installed fine on the latest AKOP build. I played around with it, I'm kinda Meh about it, its buggy as hell.
Since my last post went completely off topic and hopefully will be deleted soon I am going to try again. I flashed CM7 last night and ran a battery calibration and I only had a 4hr 19min battery life with moderate use I updated my radios but my baseband still says 2.15.00.05.02 Instead of 2.15.00.08.02 did I do something wrong in the flash? I put it in the root of my SD card and flashed it just as I would with any zip. Here is the screenshots from my test.

Has the recovery install as wall as hboot install.
Edit: did you have this with your previous rom?
Perhaps a new battery will help if yours is old?
Yea that is definitley not normal batt life. I'm not saying mine is great, but usually i can go a day on my batt with light to moderate usage. Usually just checking fb, xda, mikmik, and a few minutes of internet surfing
Yeah battery life was right about the same I never tested it. It was sprint lovers rom. I have a new battery coming in as soon as tomorrow so I'll test it again once I get it. Is there any suggestions for things I might try?

Goomanager. I myself am in love with this release. Everything has been smooth as butter. Implemented the usual build.prop tweaks for graphical glitches. CPU settings are all stock ondemand/cfq, went for 20-21 hours yesterday with 3-3.5 hours screen on time and that was my first cycle!! Of course no RR or SoDs either. Can't wait to see what whitehawk has in store for this update!

I noticed it in Goo yesterday, haven't flashed it yet though I think I'm still going to wait for the updated SBean.
This is the first aokp rom that I have tried and I am very happy with it. Everything is very smooth and fast. The only problem that I have with it is the lock screen. When I hit the power button the screen comes on really bright for about a second then goes back to the normal brightness level that I have it at. I usually have have it on the lowest setting. It doesn't always happen but most of the time it does. Anyone know how to fix this?

What are you using for a radio? Sounds like something is sucking the life out of your battery or you're in an area with crap reception and your radio is draining your battery trying to get a good signal. I myself am using uvle1 for a radio. I've had nothing but bad experiences using uvlh1.

You are lucky to get those times with your signal as low as it is.
When you have a low signal like that, it is constantly searching for a better signal and using up battery life.
Yeah but there were a couple very rare occasions where it lasted way longer.

A couple? You need to have consistency. You can't say that you have a problem now when you really haven't had good battery life to begin with. I can bet that your signal is what is causing the drain in battery. Either get a better signal or get an extended battery.

Maybe the battery is a dud... Doesn't have to be bulging to be bad. Also look for stray apps. You can also upgrade your kernel and modem. FL 24 is the newest. Go look in the repository.

It'll be easiest if you just grab screens of each section but you'll need to let it run a day or so to get the best snapshot of the situation. Once you get em post em up and I'll look at em and see what's hanging causing that wakelock. Im fairly certain its gonna be radios searching but could always be that plus something else

Sorry if this has been asked but I'm wondering if any of you guys are using Tegrak overclock with this device on stock kernel. I'm using it with my E4GT on stock kernel and I'm getting this device on Thursday and really want to continue to use the app. The developer says it works but hasn't updated it since December. Thanks.

It is an app in the play store called Tegrak overclock that simply let's you overclock your cpu and gpu and it works on stock kernels. Of course you have to be rooted. It has worked wonders on my s2 and really look forward to using it on the note. The developer of the app says it works and I was just wondering about any user feedback from this forum.

We had a discussion about tegrak a while back regarding if it worked or not. I went and tried since I have the payed version and it did not work. I know it say it supports our phone but my overclock speeds weren't registering when I tried it.

Yeah but over in the E4GT forums we were having that problem too but what ended up happening was we weren't loading the overclock module 1st which is how it actually works. Did you try that?
Edit: My bad. I didn't read that right I guess. If you had the paid version I guess you knew what you were doing. Although the only way we were able to see registered speeds was either an app called system tune too. Guess I'll just have to wait till I get the device and try it.

I came from the S3 and had Anthrax oc to 1.6 and this beast blows it out the water hell even when I put it on power saving mode it is still super fast. I have not had any lag oyher than in the gallery but that started with this new update 4.1.2

Hmm that's weird. I wonder why. I'm running a stock 4.1.2 leak on my s2 and we're not seeing that. Anyway yeah this thing's gonna be fun for sure. I was going to wait for the s4 but I'm sure I won't regret it. It probably won't even be as good as this imo.

Have you tried clearing the data and cache for the gallery in app manager? Its been fixing the lag for most ppl. There's some junk sticking in there after the update that causes the lag while the system sorts thru it.
I like to break stuff!

Probably why I never had the issue, I disable picasa and all photo uploads I only keep them on my extSD or PC. Not a fan of my pics getting uploaded somewhere behind my back

Totally read that wrong. I've been using tegrak since the og epic 4g. I was the one who commented on the e4gt forums when everybody was amazed about it and was like uhh you guys are late. When I would overclock, it wouldn't show it as overclocked and all my benchmarks were still the same and it showed my cpu clocked at the factory setting from the benchmark app. Yes i know you have to load the module lol... It's not even necessary on this beast of a phone though.

Lol I thought your name looked familiar. Actually there are a lot of familiar people over here which is awesome because that's one of the reasons I didn't want to leave the E4GT. But I know it's gonna be a great phone and it looks like development is really starting to take off over here and I'm sure it's only going to get better.
