Someone PLEASE link me kernels - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

So I've searched up and down through the forum and can't can't any kernels. No lists, or any. I'm looking for ktoonz and agats but can't find any post for it besides ROMs having it built in. Someone mind posting the links for me? Wish someone could make a post with all kernels links and tweaks and hacks

Really??

Been trying searching kernels but all that comes up is in all of xda and that's thousands of posts... When I try searching this forum it removes the [] and shows anything with the word kernel posted anywhere in the thread and that's every single one also..

If a Rom comes with stock kernel, just reflash the Rom.
You may be able to pick apart the freegs3 v3 zip. In the aroma installer it gives the option for ktoons, agat and guess what stock kernels.

The fact that this thread has made it this far..
Dude how did you even root your phone for real?
Find freezas stock Rom thread, the kernel is in there. In a zip. Ps there's only one stock kernel and your probably already running it considering you didn't even know where the custom kernels are. Please learn to use the search key, because you can easily type in sprint s3 stock kernel and easily find it.
Have a nice day

Thanks.

thanks for being rude. ill look elsewhere for a more intelligent response.
Don't think anyone was trying to be rude. Everyone's a little on edge due to some folks having issues even on stock, thankfully I'm not one of them, and/or issues with the rooted kernels, then when someone comes in here and makes a thread that plain ole common sense or a few minutes of reading would satisfy it probably starts to feel like babysitting a gaggle of impatient 3 year olds...

Follow the rules and post in the correct spot and do some reading beforehand. Will help you find more information.
If you get the stock sprint/samsung kernel it will take away the yellow caution sign/exclamation mark at boot correct?
I downloaded and used SPH-D710_Zedomax_EpicTouchKernel-v1 and I am getting that yellow sign now. Just want to know if I unrooted if it would take that off.
thx!

Are you talking about the one with CWR built in when you say Bubby's kernel?

I thought you had to flash up su in order to get root - or is there another one I'm missing somewhere

Compatible Kernels for Rooted Stock EL29

New to the world of rooting and I need some help. I'm currently running a rooted version of the stock EL29 ROM with the stock kernel. I'm looking for a compatible kernel that has boot animation support. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If your intent is to eventually move onto custom roms, I would suggest you get your sea legs with a proven GB build like Blazer 4.1 before even looking towards ICS leaks. You will undoubtedly have many questions and a few hiccups along the way. Your going to want those bumps in the road to be relatively painless. Once you have some mileage on your flashing finger then go read the post in general a few times called How Not To Brick Your E4GT. If your lucky all that will be squared away by that time. Please ask if you do not know... Better to feel stupid for asking how to do something than asking what you did wrong after the fact. Good luck and don't forget have some fun with your phone!

Just know that EL29 is Gingerbread, so you dont want to mix an ICS kernel in there.
I personally try to keep my kernel version matched with my rom base.
My favorite kernel was Team rogue's gunslinger kernel when i ran gingerbread.
I would recommend that one for sure, version 1.4.1

Install ROM E4GT FL24

Hello all....
yesterday I rooted my phone with this video
http://www.qbking77.com/development/root-the-samsung-epic-4g-touch.html
originally have stock FL24 ICS 4.0.4
Now i want install a ROM.... but what is better..??
and how i can do...?
also I can install CyanogenMod with FL24 ??
Regards...
Yes you can install CyanogenMod over FL24 4.0.4 ICS. However you need to read the CM threads.
To start you need a safe recovery such as EL26CWM or the EL29Directboot and a PC that you can use Odin to flash the recovery. Direct boot does exactly what it says, once it has been flashed successfully it will boot into recovery. EL26 you will need to hold volume up + power until you see recovery.
Then wipe data/factory reset. Install zip from SD card, select the location it was downloaded to. Select the ROM, and select yes. Now flash the appropriate Gapps. Reboot and profit!
Now that I've done my part, BTW this is a question and all questions belong in the Q&A section. This is the wrong section for questions. Prepare your diddly hole cause the fire has been lit underneath it.

but I have a little issues...
sometimes frezze the phone and I need to restart ....
any solution?
I think your solution would be to spend some time reading through these sections, reading the stickies and all followup posts 1st.
Then reading through the OP of the ROM you wish/are trying to use and then read through all the followon postst there.
The rate you're going you are going to paperweight your device.
Then maybe try the search button.
Seriously there is a TON of information out here.
Also note that just about everything in here comes with caveats, warnings and other provisos and your mileage may vary. The devs and contributors here are fantastic and really provide a whole lot of support but I know they get tired of seeing the same questions asked over and over ad naseum.
Good luck.

In order to flash a new rom you will need a custom recovery/kernel.
This can be done using mobile odin, find the kernel you wish to use, download the tar and zip files for it.
Open mobile odin and select the kernel slot, navigate to your kernel and select the tar file (zips will not be displayed in mobile odin).
Scroll down to flash firmware and allow the phone to reboot.
Now find your desired rom and download it.
Once you're ready to flash you need to enter recovery mode (vol up + power simultaneously until it reboots to recovery screen) there is also an app called Quick Boot in the play store that will boot into recovery mode (free and paid versions available)
Once in recovery, navigate to your desired rom and flash.
Be warned, some if not most roms available include the stock kernel, so you will need to reflash the kernel using the zip you downloaded earlier.
DO NOT flash any mods, tweaks, etc in the same session as your rom, kernels are fine, but anything else and you're asking for trouble.
Hope this helps answer your questons:good:

Slithering from the nether regions of a twisted mind and tarnished soul

New user E4GT , need some help.

Hey guys, I just broke my galaxy nexus (fell in the pool) and a buddy gave me his old E4GT to use.
I did my research around this forum and found a ton of different things.
What I've done so far:
Wiped the phone and rooted using odin for FL24 which is the stock ICS build on the phone.
What I want to do:
Flash CWM recovery
Flash a Stable rom
I've been reading about a few unstable kernel issues around the forum and I'm a bit confused.
I would really appreciate the help with this Thanks
You should know that in order to flash a ROM, you need to flash a safe gb kernel, EL29 directboot or EL26 CWM,do you know about the emmc bug?
Since I dont see a specific question, check this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953783

There are a ton of really stable builds in android development, and most have cwm built in. Jellyverse is a kick a** ROM, but doesn't have cwm, but it's easy enough to flash that after you load the ROM. Good luck.

Well if you're looking for a stable ICS ROM, I can definately recommend the Blue Kuban FL24/FI27 ROM. All you need to do is boot into a safe kernel (http://e4gtcm.blogspot.com/p/tools.html), then boot into it (MAKE SURE YOU ARE ROOTED AND HAVE FILES ON YOUR PHONE, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL PUT YOU IN BOOTLOOP), then wipe data/factory reset, and then flash the rom (if you want the Blu Kuban ROM, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625535). And you should be :good: to go.

*Note* After you flash the rom using the EL29 Directboot (which is needed to be flashed either through Desktop Odin or Mobile Odin), the ROM will automatically install a safe recovery after the ROM flash.
