[Q] Browser not displaying Yahoo! correctly - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

In the last couple of days I've had a problem with the stock browser displaying Mobile Yahoo pages correctly. It appears to have switched to a wap version or something:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I'm running stock FK23, unrooted, made no changes to the browser settings before this happened, and have cleared cache, cookies and history in an attempt to fix it, but it hasn't.
I also downloaded Chrome and Firefox from the Play Store, and Chrome is displaying the same thing, but Firefox is displaying the site correctly:
Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? I'm not too keen on using the Firefox browser.

Try using the desktop version (if available in your stock browser) or have you tried dolphin browser?

I can't get to the desktop version in stock Browser. I haven't tried Dolphin, but it works in Firefox which leads me to believe it's something with the Google-made ones, both Chrome and stock don't work properly.
I wouldn't mind so much, except that Yahoo is my homepage

It's because Yahoo! is dated and no one uses it anymore ,
Still, is everything that could be enabled in settings actually enabled? Cookies, javascript, etc.
The only difference I know between FF and google browsers is flash

I just reset the stock browser back to default settings, and it's still happening.

m.guardian.co.uk displays as raw HTML on my new Arc S

This is bizarre. I have a brand new Arc S which will not display the following website correctly:
http://m.guardian.co.uk
Instead it displays the raw HTML. If I try http://www.guardian.co.uk instead then the browser seems to try and be clever and look for the 'm.' version and hence I can't access the site at all.
I upgraded the device to Android 2.3.4 using the SE PC software and a still have the issue. I am now on the latest build - 4.0.2.A.0.42.
Here are the other things I've tried:
Reset the browser settings to default.
Cleared the browser cache.
Cleared the Browser data/cache.
Rooted (using zergRush), used Titanium Backup to remove browser.apk and installed a browser.apk file from a zip containing 4.0.2.A.0.42 I found here on XDA.
This site works fine in Opera or Dolphin so I have no idea why the stock browser won't handle it. It also doesn't have a setting to control it from looking from mobile sites ("m."). I'm not running any AV software and there are no unusual processes running (I've removed all the crapware using TB).
Can I replace the browser.apk with the stock Android (AOSP?) version and see if that works? My last phone was a HTC Desire GSM running 2.3.7 Oxygen and this site worked fine.
Very, very odd. Any advice welcome!
Here is how it displays:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

I don't believe this is ROM related because it also happened on my evo.

I'm not sure if drive has anything to do with it but the problem pursists whether it's checked our not. Also none of my other accounts have this issue. Anyone know what's going on?

I have been having the same issue with contacts and gmail. No idea whats causing it but it is annoying. I have tried wiping cache and dalvik, fixing permissions, wiping app data and nothing.
Ya I've tried going stock and starting over but it always comes back

I was having this issue with the calendar after adding my samsung account. I had to install the google calendar from the play store to get it to work.
Remove the account and add it again. Maybe you changed your password? Either way, this will reauthorize your phone.

I believe google discontinued syncing bookmarks and browser data. They no longer offer the service.
I am rooted and running santods stock debloated rom and I too did not have my bookmarks in the stock browser. i like the stock browser because it still has quick controls which chrome had but took out. I found the zip to install ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter apk via recovery on this site and then was able to turn on the bookmarks sync from within my account.
I am not sure if you can take the apk from within the zip and do a side install on unrooted or not since it has been awhile since i have been unrooted on any phone i have had. If you can get that apk installed then you will be in business.
Thanks for the info guys!

N5 opening links in messages

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get my phone to stop opening links in the stock messages.
Rather than open it up in chrome (my preferred browser) it opens in a window inside messages and I have the option at the top to open in chrome if I choose.
Where is the setting to change that?
It opens up in a screen like this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Currently, I don't think there's a way to change this other than hitting "more" then choose Open in Browser. I saw a thread on this a few months back but never saw a solution.
I thought mine didn't do it until I changed something. Idk I can't remember

For me, it started with the MM update
Ah, that's it! That's when it started. I didn't realize that until now. Thanks

It's not opening in Samsung browser. It's opening using "Android System Webview"
Freeze android system browser and the stock Internet browser.
I tried freezing that stuff but it didn't work.
