hello, i just switch from iphone to samsung s3. i'm just wondering does androids phone have any apps store similar to IOS (Installous) gplay store is boring.. thanks you
If you are talking about installing pirated apps and bootleg app stores, XDA doesn't support any talk about them. Yes, they are even easier to get on android devices, but you will have to google search elsewhere to find them.
^^^ This ^^^
XDA does not promote piracy or cracked apps. Sure they are out there, but they are not in here.
So you registered yesterday and your very first post is about breaking one of the "cardinal" rules of XDA about Warez. I know for a fact that when you register, you have to review The Rules before the registration is complete. If this is how it is going to be, then your time here will be short lived. No Warez!!!

I found a pretty popular site, its called 4shared.com. Basically, if android market isnt letting you download stuff, or the things you download dont work, just search it on there and end it in .apk (ex. facebook.apk) and download, and there you have it
There is also pokemon roms on there that arent actual pokemon games (mods with completely different stories) and i checked and it was legal. all i did was search "pokemon.gba" and downloaded pokemon versions that were made up.
Have fun
Also realize that downloading roms of games without owning the actual game is illegal. Thank you.

You realize that not only is it illegal but it violates TWO of our rules.
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, either pay or find your cracks and serials somewhere else. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained.
9. Don't get us in trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things that will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably don't want to do it here either. This does not mean we agree with everything the software piracy lobby try to impose on us, it simply means you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users, and those that write great code.
Even though the product might be free, providing the means to obtain other software paid or free is still considered piracy. If you cannot download anything from Market then I suggest contacting the developer for alternatives. If they developer didn't release the application to a website and didn't give authorization for it to be there then he is under legal right to request it's removal which the responsible party must comply with. Failure to do so can and often does result in civil action against the unauthorized provider. This is why XDA-Developers will not tolerate this behavior. Link has been removed and heed this as a warning.

This is true. Thank you for pointing that out.
I was talking about free apps, I.e facebook, seeing as the free ones are the apps that never work, that's why I warned that its illegal to download paid for stuff that you don't own. But thanks for the warning, ill take this down when I get on my computer

It's quite sad when you're going through someones For Sale thread and you see people crapping all over it. This used to be such a great site back in the days when it was just Windows Mobile phones. Everyone listened to the rules and no one really crapped on peoples threads just for the hell of it.
I really hope that XDA either,
1.) Implements more moderators into the section.
2.) Updates the rules in the XDA Marketplace.
It's sad to see the kind of state that XDA has fallen to over the years with the addition of Windows Phone & Android devices and the members it has brought to this community.
With that said, I hope someone in the moderation staff / XDA staff can read this and start implementing some changes because it's like a hurricane has hit the Marketplace and looks quite unprofessional.

We are in the process of bringing in some changes to the MP including a feedback system.
Still, this site is outrageously large, so we need you to report anything that shouldn't be happening. If it's people doing the old "PM sent" thing, just report it. They won't be eligible to use the new feedback system though if they do that...
Any specific issues?
Alright Folks Paid apps aren't Warez, it doesn't goes against rules because if XDA TV Reviews that app, then what, what are you saying that their wrong, and their lying to the public. Get your Rules Together and stop the BS.
This is more of a Need To Know Basis. Stop posting things like we don't support warez, when not realizing that that's not warez. yes you don't support warez, but you need to know what is and isn't warez.
IE...(Alternative Markets) isn't warez and paid apps are the same if you do buy or don't buy it its the same product nothing changed, they got a question help 'em out.
like i said Even on XDA TV Azrienoch i believe reviewed Yamm a market like applanet.
This is just my personal opinion, folks. and if im wrong then prove it to me.
It seems the Navigon threads have been removed. Can someone confirm this or am I just overlooking these threads?
noticed this some days ago
posted some stuff in these threads, but can't find them anymore
My guess would be that as the application is now in the marketplace to buy, the threads discussing how to get it for free are technically now against the rules...if these are the threads you were referring to?
that was my first thought as well (now available in marketplace)...
And? Is this the way a interest tread without a "why closed" to deleted?
Its for me not to understand, sorry.
Would be better, the asking for a v4 copy to delete and this users to blocked, then this way like now.

The threads were deleted.
They were in breach of XDA Rules.

Once the "Premium" features were hacked into the Free app, it becomes Warez.
I am in the process of finding out who posted what & when. Infractions &/or bans will follow.
I think I have the right to share paid apps that I purchased because they became my possession
What do you think ?
Sharing paid apps is stealing the lost revenue that the "apps" developers deserve. Thus... it is considered stealing. And posting anything that is a paid app on XDA is against forum rules and will get you either A) An infraction on your account for a length of time or B) Get you banned from XDA...
How could you not think of it as stealing? Wouldn't you be upset and yell thief if you made a paid app only to find people giving out your app for free?
Think of it this way:
One person pays for an app once for $1
That one person hosts it on another site for free
10,000 people download it for free from that other site
How much money has the developer made now do you think?

Wrong. When you pay for software, you dont own it. You only own a license to use it. The original creator still owns the app.
Google has a per-person license policy, meaning you can use the same Play Store account on all your devices. But you cant share apps to other users because they have not paid the license.
Stupid thread. Redistribution of commercial software is a license infringement and known as "piracy".

Three things are here. 1. Of course its stealing, what kind of question is that. 2. Why is this thread even still open. 3. Can a MOD close this please. I dontbsee how having those thread here can be of any help to the XDA rules

is this thread for real? look up a thing called piracy
Cosmic Dan outlined the reason why (License, not actually owning the App, as well as it destroys a Developers income from something they created)
But what everybody else missed (other than reporting this post, which would have closed it a lot sooner ) are the XDA Rules:
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, then pay for it. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained. This is a site of developers, i.e. the sort of people who create such software. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community
