[Q] Bluetooth tethering - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Ok so I have been looking through the forums to find a way to get Bluetooth tethering for my ATT note 2... i have no clue how to do "Tethering enabler by electron73". I also have been trying many apps on the Google play store, no such luck. I want it for my Android Radio the Parrot Asteroid. I rooted my phone but still cant do anything or find an answer. If someone can help me out and give me the dumb-*** guide Id appreciate it thanks

If youre rooted then it should be as easy as flashing a custom rom that has it enabled... I suggest clean rom.

Try connecting it without security. I had to do that with another phone once but haven't tried the s3

If your rooted and not on a stock kernel try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.android.wifi.tether if your not rooted then I would root. If you are rooted try a cm10 ROM and it will work. I've been using mine on the ps3 for two days now with no problem. I hope this helps,

Yes this app or any others that do not use ad-hoc will work with ps3.

i didn't want to start a new thread
so i've been able to tether to my ps3 , but it only seems to work on the 2.54 paranoid android rom with a vpn and wifi tether for root app. anytime i flash a new rom and try the same, it gives me a fail to start ap error and wont work. i've tried it with the new roms and even the newer kernels that support tethering, but it wont work. the tethering will work for my computer on windows and ubuntu, but not my ps3. i really want to move onto a newer rom,(carbon rom is buttery smooth on my phone)but not being able to tether to my ps3 is a deal breaker. does anybody here have a working set-up they could recommend on the newer roms?
sorry about the long post, wanted to give as much information as i could, and thank you for any information you can give me
Im sure this has already been brought to your attention. There is a good thread entitled "T-Mobile blocking Wi-Fi tether" don't know how to link it. Maybe im too lazy but you can find it in the s3 general section. Hope this helps nd good luck.

Works fine for me. You try clicking on reconnect?
If that doesn't work disable then re-enable WiFi.

Going to CM10 from stock requires a complete wipe before flashing, so it would not have mattered which ROM you used before this one. The baseband that is controlled by the stock ROM does not affect WiFi, those drivers are managed by the new ROM and it's kernel.
For the OP, have you tried telling your phone to forget your current network and then setting it up all over again?

If that doesn't work, and I do kind of doubt that it will, you can try clearing the data and cache for the play store.
Settings > Apps > Swipe over to "All" > Google Play Store. Clear Data, then open the App again.
Shouldn't matter one but.

btw for my wifi issue.. I fixed it by resetting the router to factory default.
Fixed WiFi issue went back to stock and then flashed cm10 and it worked just fine but I wiped everything twice

[Q] Bypass Hotspot

Even as an employee with tmobile, I am 'forced' to pay 14.99 per month for hotspot access on my galaxy note 2 (even though I rooted the device)
On the other hand, when I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S 2, I was able to bypass having to pay the monthly fee
I have found a couple of solutions in the forum on bypassing this feature, but have had no success
Does anyone have another solution or link I can try to bypass having to pay this charge every month
Cheers
Julian

Thanks everyone for your helpful information
I will be flashing the Jedi Rom soon
I have a couple questions before I do so...
1) Can I flash it on top of the existing ROM that I used to initially root my SGSNote2? Or do I need to unroot it first?
2) I have backed up my device with NANDROID as described, but, can i just flash Jedi using my app Rom Toolbox?
Thanks again

I'm pretty new to this so someone more knowledgable might contradict my answer later. If so, go with what they say.
1 I believe the preferred method when going from one custom rom to another is to wipe the old one out by clearing all with whatever custom recovery tool you use. I believe doing so does not unroot your phoe so you cna then install the next rom without having to root again. Rooting is a one time thing.
2 I have no idea about this one.
You used to be able to do it through titanium back up with a stock rom when i had my Galaxy S2. I'm trying to keep things stock and not flash any custom roms. Hopefully someone finds a way

What's up guys! Looking for help with tether app?

I have no idea what you're trying to say, excpet you're on Saber Kernel and TrevEMod's WiFi tether isn't working. You tried playing with some settings. Did you pose the question in the main thread for WiFi tether? There I a number of suggestions and links. Plus, you'll see what information people need to be able to help you.

[Q] Help wifi tethering on stock 4.3

I've updated my Note 2 to the new 4.3 rom. I was able to root it but I can't seem to get wifitether to work. I used to be able to do it with the Treve Mod tether app. Has anyone figuredout hhow to do it with this rom?
I would also like to know because as of now only pda net works via usb cable, trev mod wifi not working on the new 4.3 update
Have you tried installing xposed installer and Wanam? I think there are tethering mods in there but I have not had the chance to tinker with them. Good luck, and let us know if you figure it out!

How come you guys just dont use the CWM tether no root app? All you have to do is use a different user agent if the T-Mobile upsell page comes up..
