Bought a Wildfire S from Australia (with Telstra) and wanted to convert all menus to chinese (Taiwan) for a friend.
What's the best way to do this? Do I have to use a RUU with the Taiwanese rom (BTW it's on 2.3 atm)...

Hi all. I recently had do downgrade my Desire HD to version 1.26 as I was on custom rom and wanted to go back to stock due to warranty issues. Then after I flashed the downgrade image I updated using the normal update method of the HTC menu. What happens now is that the firmware is on wrong region. It only lets me choose between English, French, Italian and Spanish on both UK and Ireland regions. I want Portuguese (Portugal) and it is not letting me even update to version 2.50 that I had before moving to custom roms.
Any help on how to change the region?
Well it seems like I found the problem, the CID was set to HTC__001 which is the UK one. I have found a post with the CID codes and I found for Portugal to be HTC__506 and so I set it to that code. And now I can choose Portuguese (Portugal) but another problem happens and that it doesn't detect updates. Is the firmware not correct to this CID setting?

I just got HTC 8S for my wife, a russian. I bought the phone in New Delhi, India.
I need to switch the display language to Russian but it is not available in the settings->region+langauage.
Is there any way I can download and install it ? I have already downloaded a keyboard pack for Russian langauage which works fine...but I need to change the display languagae as well to Russian.
Please advice. Thank you.

Hi guys,
I have the same problem. My girlfriends 8S was bought in England. I've bought my girlfirend an iPhone (which is very easy to switch to Russian Language by the way - making this issue very frustrating) and we want to give the 8S to her mother (with Russian Language).
I can't seem to do this... Could you explain what changing ROM is? Really don't know why they just couldn't have Russian pre-installed on the phone, its not like Russia is a small country or unknown culture... pfft.
ps. No I'm not Russian.
I have a Vodaphone DesireHD from Australia that i have unlocked it and now i want to change its locale settings. I can only select between English Australian and English NewZealand, but since i live in Europe i want to change this. Is this a matter or installing a new ROM? And if so what steps must i take in order to do so?

But I have some problems to use it. Indeed, despite the english language in the parameters, lot of software are only in Chinese (Android market for example) and not compatible with my home country (France).
I want to know if it's possible to change the firmware, and install an international or europe ? Or what are possible to do to have it in french or in a good english ?
