Hey!
I was trying to install cyanogenmod 9 on my Samsung Galaxy Gio, I did factory and all that resets. After installing was finished I tried to reboot my phone and it just kept rebooting from samsung start-up screen. Then I tried to reinstall my mod and it gave this
>E:failed to mount /system(Invalid id argument)
I tried this one-click unbrick tool but that didnt worked.
After that I booted my phone in download mode and plugged it to pc. I tried to flash my phone using Odin Multi Downloader v4.42 but that didnt change anything.
How can I solve this?
EDIT
Fixed, Odin Multidownloader finally worked, I just had to download right .MD5 for my area.

Phone is rooted and cwm installed... I did not flash any custom rom but tried to uninstall bloatware in stock rom using titanium back up. but here's the screw up!! I wanted to take a nandroid back up after removing bloatware, thought if I do a wipe data/ factory reset would save time uninstalling bloatware one by one but ended up getting stuck on boot screen. Tired to install stock firmware using odin following google instructions but couldnt succeed as I did not get a .PIT file.

@ charbelaj71,
The issue seem to have resolved by trying on my brother's laptop by just connecting the phone but I did install Samsung usb drivers first downloaded from samsung website. Also had plans of re-installing windows on my laptop n trying but anyways thank you so very much for taking initiative to guide through my dreadful times I've been with in the recent past. without my phone really seems nothing but sincere thanks for your efforts from my end. thanks a lot

Welcome bro. Anytime
forgot to reboot after i root my phone. Then i installed chainfire3D. after that the phone rebooted an then woo it does not open any more. it is just stucked on Samsung galaxy Grand gt-I9082
My dad's Wind Note 2 (SGH-T889V) is stuck in download mode with the error message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
He told me he left it to charge overnight and when he woke up, it was just a black screen with a blue led light. He couldn't accept calls or turn the screen on so after about an hour, he pulled out the battery and put it back in. Then the error message came up with no led light.
I tried using kies, but I have no recovery code. And if I try the firmware upgrade, after it succeeds, it just reboots to the same error message.
I used it before and had rooted and flashed some custom ROMs on it, but when I gave it to my dad, I returned to stock and unrooted. The method I followed was to download the stock odin flashable firmware and flash through odin.
So now I have been trying to flash the stock firmware using the same method. For other people who have this error, apparently that is supposed to fix it. But even after it passes in odin, the phone just reboots straight back to the same error message.
I have also tried to flash clockworkmod recovery through odin and after it passes, it shows the Samsung logo (not animation) and just stays there.
Flash counter is at 4 I think, so I don't want to send it in for them to fix.
I am pretty sure the battery is getting drained when the phone is supposed to be off. When I pull the battery, put it back in and then leave it overnight, in the morning I have to charge it up before I can turn it on.
So here is the situation:
With stock image and stock recovery flashed:
- trying to boot regularly gives the error (download mode)
- trying to boot to recovery gives same error (download mode)
- trying to boot to download mode succeeds with no error
With stock image and clockworkmod recovery flashed:
- trying to boot regularly shows the error message (download mode)
- trying to boot to recovery hangs at the Samsung logo
- trying to boot to download mode succeeds with no error
Image showing all the screens I have been able to get to..
I have tried this using linux + heimdall and xp + odin as well as windows 7 + odin. Heimdall was a little confusing for me though, so I didn't follow through with it.. If anyone has detailed instructions on how to use it with the T889(V) Note 2, I could try.
If you have any idea about how I could solve this, please let me know. Thanks
HI, sorry for your troubles ... The pic i attached, will work the same as download mode.. Can you link me the file you flashed in odin please

Yeah, I have tried different cables in different usb ports on different computers running different operating systems. I downloaded the file twice.
I could not factory reset before flashing because I could not boot to android, or get into recovery mode

I downloaded CF-Auto-Root but didn't flash it yet. Instead, I noticed that the instructions said to disconnect usb, start odin, enter download mode, connect usb and then continue. I guess I hadn't been disconnecting and reconnecting before because I just tried doing that with the stock image and cwm and I got into cwm.
However I cannot really do anything because I am getting the following error in cwm:
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I get similar "Can't mount " errors when going into mounts and storage and trying to mount anything.
I have a feeling there is something wrong with the partition table? Do I need to check re-partition? Will I need a .pit file?
I want to try and flash stock or cf-auto-root with re-partition checked and see if that fixes anything, but I think I would need a .pit file.. @deeznuts1977, what do you think?

Crap, I have no clue what to do now. I flashed cf-auto-root and then it just turned off. I don't think the battery was dead because 20 minutes before in cwm I saw percentage to be around 60%. Now I can't turn the phone on at all with any combination. Tried a different battery too. Odin said the flash passed too..

When I plug it in, I get no device detected stuff in windows and I don't see and 'added' in Odin.
On my Linux computer, I plugged in my galaxy nexus and lsusb detects it. But with this note 2, lsusb doesn't detect anything
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help, but I'm not too optimistic. I have a SGH-M919 (T-Mobile Galaxy S4) that had a tripped KNOX bootloader and I had been installing custom ROMs on it. I wanted to ODIN back to stock, but it has caused all kinds of problems.
I was using ODIN v3.09 to ODIN the NB4 complete .tar file from Sammobile under the "AP" section with only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checked. It got what looked like about 95% complete and then showed FAILED. It gets to a point where it will say:
"Complete(Write) operation failed"
Upon rebooting, the phone says "Firmware upgrade ecountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
The phone will go into Download mode still but it will not go into Recovery mode.
After the above combination failed, I've tried using ODIN v.3.07 and v1.85, different official and unofficial firmwares (NB4, MK2, Fenny's NB4), tried various USB ports on my computer, and even tried another computer. Each time ODIN fails, and sometimes much earlier in the process.
I also tried installing using Kies after all of the above failed, but Kies will not recognize the phone at all.
Is it dead, or does anyone know of something else I can try? Upon my searching, most recommendations to "brick" problems seems to just be to ODIN like I did above =/.
Thank you for any help!

I was able to flash a recovery, which is good news. The one I had on hand was Philz, which I could go straight into. Now I have a problem with /data not being able to mount, and no ROM I install from recovery seems to boot, even a full nandroid backup... Any ideas from there?
UPDATE: I flashed TWRP 2.5.0.2 and was able to format /Data, reinstalled a ROM, and it booted!! Thanks so much!!

ive read forums and trying different things for 6+ hours and was having no luck.
i read that someone took it to a best buy where they have a samsung kiosk because they can reflash the firmware.
i took it there but they were unable to reflash it.
they had the same problems i was having.
i literally just tried odin again and it worked.
i think mayb them hooking it up to their computer did something to it which then allowed me to get it to work.
if that doesnt work you can also send it back to samsung to have it reflashed,
both are FREE of charge. ( most people dont know that.
best of luck to you.
Hey sorry, have been swamped with work. Did you ever get it working or still need help?
Using ODIN to flash a complete ROM would always fail, bit have you tried flashing just TWRP recovery? For me that worked, and from there I could reformat the /data folder, and flash a new ROM in recovery. Never was able to use Odin for a full ROM but that method was good enough.
Hello,
I tried to root this device with cf-autoroot and Odin 3.07 yesterday. But it just didn't do anything. After felt 20mins I cancled the process with no good result :/
Now I'm getting the message:
"firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again."
-I tried it via Kies, but it needs some code I don't have.
-I downloaded stock Rom 4.4.2 and flashed it via Odin 3.09 but no success.
Odin just won't let me flash anything. I don't know why.
-While flashing Kies is off, drivers are installed (it's Added! In Odin) and it's not the first time I'm doing this. I have no idea. I tried different usb-ports. No success. First time I face this problem.
Now I read about Pit file, but I have no clue.
Every help is much appreciated.
Thank you so much

I guess the code is under your battery
Okaay. I will give it a try. Next time! The problems solution was to flash a custom recovery first.

The latest FW in Sammobile starting from Hungary till Bulgary they fail at hidden file in Odin, you need to flash custom recovery to solve that issue....
@Muhammad Rihawi, Also having the same problem. Somehow, i thought the solution ws flashing a pit file... Let us know if flashing a custom recovery sorts out the problem for ya..

I don't get it, after flashing the stock Firmware, which failed at hidden. The status bar on the phone stopped and seemed to freeze... I flashed the cf-auto root but it failed... then removed the battery, rebooted into download mode and reflashed the cf-auto root then in odin i saw passed but when the phone rebooted, it was stuck on the bootscreen. After waiting endlessly, removed the battery and tried to enter the recovery mode but it simply wouldnt go there.... Did i miss anything???

Hello
Sorry for my bad English, but I have to try.
I have a problem with my t805. I tried to install a custom rom on my tablet, but I did a mistake in TWRP. I managed to delete everything and now its stuck with the Samsung logo.
The only thing I can do is to put it in Download-mode. I have all the drivers necessary for this to work on my computer. Tried to flash twrp and stock recovery with Odin, but it get stucked with "setup connection" every time. I have tried to use different computers, different usb-cables, usb 2.0, usb 3.0 and it still wont work. Odin marks the tablet as added but nothing happens.
I have tried with windows 7 and 10, and none of them works. I have also tried a lot of different versions of Odin.
I have been searching around on xda and on google with no luck. Does anyone have an idea of what I can try next?

I forgot to mention that. I have the drivers needed. Not Kies, but the Samsung-usb drivers.
Well first of all you can't have wiped twrp, so that will still be there. Just boot to recovery and restore your backup.
If you haven't got one (tut tut) then first put the tablet in DOWNLOAD mode then put the stock firmware md5 in the AP slot and flash.
