Hi, so I've been trying to get the right radio for me and my friend with DHD (I have Inspire 4G and do not get any 3G signal) has this radio: 12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M. I found a download link on this site ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9891546&postcount=1 but I am unable to flash it. I noticed the ZIP file does not contain "android-info.txt" file. I know how to flash a radio with bootloader and I was successful in flashing other radios but it seems that it cannot be flashed without the file or the file itself is corrupted.
So does anyone know how to flash it or does anybody have the ZIP file with android-info.txt ? thanks a lot people!
edit: oh and... the downloaded file does not pass the checksum test.
edit2: just wondering. there are three antennas on DHD. One for GPS (under flashlight cover), one at sim cover and one at battery cover. which one of these last two is for 3G signals? contacts might be bad or damaged

To flash radio from that site you need ENG S-OFF which WILL MESS YOUR DEVICE. Check this thread (Inspire 4G and DHD radios are compatible as they are the same phone with different frequencies) to get a PD98IMG folder or use the guide in my signature to get an empty one:

since I have been successful in flashing radios from that site I guess I already have ENG S-OFF (although I don't know how to determine it, I know I did some S-OFF). The thing is, I think I need the exact radio version I posted above since it should finally give me 3G. I am located in Central Europe and I believe those radios are mainly for USA, are they not? Also,
Q. Why not just go to the Desire HD thread for Radio and RIL files?
A. Because we own an Inspire. While these phones are almost identical, the software used on each is NOT always compatible. This includes Radio images.

S-OFF is not ENG S-OFF...so if you have ENG S-OFF in the bootloader you will see ACE PVT ENG S-OFF....
From the thread I linked you, you have compatible radios for DHD and Inspire...many of the radios are compatible thou not all of them have been tested. I have used many DHD radios in my Inspire and had no issues at all.

I figured as much.
since I have ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF RL in my bootloader, I don't understand HOW could I flash that radio if I need to be ENG S-OFF in order to do so... or does it just seem to be flashed and in fact it is not?

Have you read the thread I linked you? there is the key....you have to flash radios as PD98IMG.zip files in the bootloader. That is the safest way, anyway.

I always download the ZIP package, rename to PD98IMG.zip, copy it to my SD card, reboot to bootloader, flash the radio, reboot the phone. Never did it different. And gave me error only once, only when the radio I need does not have android-something.txt file in the package.
I just need those packages with correct radio version and according RIL. and I'd like to know which antenna is which. so if anybody has or knows, please, do tell me.

is there anything specific you want me to read outloud? there is NOT the correct version I need (well there is, but it is just incomplete). I know how to flash it, I know there are "slight differences" between inspire 4g and DHD (according to the topic) but I do not have the correct package so I could rename it and flash it. I tried. Oh yes I tried. Did not work. Wouldnt flash. So I just need a link to the correct version. If you don't have it, please, leave it.
MD5 is not the same in the post as on the file and there is one file less in the package than in other packages of different radios.
BTW, I am not asking you to do my work, I am just asking if anyone has it. I tried to google it, all of the links I have found are dead (or making me download some youtube downloader). Oh and I am reading.
you know what? somebody lock this thread, please... I think I want to figure this one out myself. Even if it means not having 3G in my phone. I am not going to let glevitan make fun of me. dunno who's not reading.

I am trying to find radio ROM 2.05.10.08.11. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone have it?
I might be able to make due with any CDMA (verizon) HTC desire radio rom (bravoc) but i can't find any of them. I installed a HERO rom by accident and now i'm all messed up. Tryingto RUU but i need the right radio version.
I don't know if this will help but there is US Cellular RUU.
http://www.htc.com/us/support/desire-uscellular/downloads/
Will that help? It is a complete RUU but if you look into ripping out ROM.zip then maybe you could do it then reroot (i hope your s-off)
I'm S-ON unfortunately :-/
Also i can get the RUU to see the phone but when it starts the install process it gives me 156 image error. I think because i foolishly installed the wrong radio ROM. Do the RUU's have a radio ROM baked in? If so why don't they simply rewrite my old radio?
If i found another HTC desire cdma would there be a way to extract the existing radio ROM?
What does your current radio version say?
When I was trying to use RUU's I had to go through 4/5 before I found one that worked. Also try creating a goldcard then doing it. It's what got mine working. Have you tried the RUU's from this thread? forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
edit: or try shipped ROMs they only have 1 for CDMA desire's but its worth a shot

I have radio 2.42.01.04.27
TomTomm - do i need a goldcard on a CDMA phone? Also i have tried that BravoC ROM you linked. No such luck, i receive error 156 image error. I suspect this is because the RUU is for radio 2.05.10.08.11.

Really I'm not sure how you could have flashed that radio without being s-off. If you're s-on, that part of your phone should be locked. Also, since you are s-on, you wouldn't be able to flash any of the radios that are available that work. The radio you have definitely is from a cdma hero but I'm surprised that the phone would even boot in any way shape or form. You can try to flash this http://ipfreelytech.net/android/radio/PB99IMG.zip via HBOOT but that is about the only thing I can think of.
So i downloaded a new radio, placed it on the sd card root menu, not in any folders, re named it PC10IMG.zip
turned off my phone, held volume down and power, to get into bootloader.....
restarted my phone, still shows the old radio...
what am i missing?
you need to download a special flashable version of the radio... listed in the thread that has all radios in PC19IMG. zip format.... then it should work the way you expect.. it will ask to update and then will say complete when finished.

What happens when you enter the bootloader? Does it just present you with the regulars (e.g., Recovery, Factory Reset, etc.)? Did it show any messages prior to the menu coming up?
Ya it shows it finds the file, does a few steps, quicker then I can read what it says, then it goes back to the main screen with those options...

Hmm... not sure then. Make sure it's not named PC10IMG.zip.zip (sometimes it happens when you rename it a computer and don't have file extensions visible). Also, did you get S-OFF using gfree (and namely, did you also use gfree to get SuperCID)? The CID in the PC10IMG's on the thread are all set to SuperCID by default.
its not named pc10img.zip.zip just pc10img.zip.....
also how do i confirm if i have SuperCID.....
im running a virtuous rom, if that helps

Right, make sure the file doesn't end in zip twice (though since you said it looked like the bootloader found it properly, I doubt this is the issue).
If you ran gfree with the "-f" option when obtaining S-OFF, you have SuperCID. The Wiki also has a verify app you can use, with instructions. How did you get permanent root?
and in the bootloader, it said

i just managed to see what it says as the green txt flashes past... it says pc10img.zip but then it says no img or wrong img....
I'm not sure if it applies to everyone, but when I was on stock 1.34 rom and tried to flash a 1.72 radio the system didn't update it. But when I updated to virtuous 1.0.1 rom (which is 1.85btw) the same radio worked.. I was actually in the impression that you can flash any radio version but it didn't work for me apparently
I'm using bell desire z running virtuous and its been great

I've been using custom ROM's on my DHD for a couple of months now but have never flashed off the stock Radio.
Im thinking about it now, and have read this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896597 but want to make sure I know a couple of things before trying it cus i know it can screw stuff up
First, do I have both Radio S-off and Eng s-off? I've checked the first line of my bootloader which is ' ACE PVT ENG S-OFF ' which I guess means I have ENG S-OFF but what about Radio S-OFF?
Also, what precautions should be taken before flashing a radio? I know with ROM's it's Nandroid etc, but what about Radios?
Cheers!
Hi,
If you look at "system info" in the bootloader, what does your CID read? If you used the all in one tool to Radio S-OFF, SIM Unlock, etc then your CID should read CID-11111111
You should always double check the MD5 of the radio before flashing, just to ensure you don't flash a corrupted file.
I assume you know you have to flash radios with fastboot?
id say b4 u actually flash, type
fastboot devices
if it reads your phones serial numnber, u should b good 2 go

That does not tell anything about radio s-off.
Hey guys thanks for all the quick replies! I know about flashing vi adb which I'm ok with, is there any kinds of back ups to do first?
Also, since I already have my ROM installed, will it need redoing after the radio? I read somewhere that the Radio needs doing before ROM...
Cheers
It does not matter when you flash the radio, before or after the ROM. ROM is not affected by radio, so you do not need any backups. Just go ahead and flash.
Long story.
Was originally a UK Orange branded HTC Desire HD, running OTG updated 2.3.5, unrooted
I originally unlocked the stock device using the HTCDev method, all went to plan. I then installed clockworkmod and from there installed jellytime 10.
All good so far. I then applied a sim unlock code so we could use other SIMs in the device. Although the unlock code was accepted, with a 'Success' message, we could not get the phone to log on to other networks. Googling this problem suggested that the SIM unlock needed to be done under the stock rom. So I went looking further and found these two files:
RUU_Ace_Orange_UK_1.84.61.2_Radio_12.28g.60.140f_26.05.05.27_M3_release_170856_signed.exe
RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_225512_signed.exe
Both of which were supposed to be compatible with the phone.
Neither would install when run on an XP machine with the correct HTC drivers installed. So I extracted the ROM.zip from the WWE RUU above, opened it with winrar, and manually FASTBOOT FLASHed the .img files within, including boot.img, lib, img, recovery.img, and others. Some would not copy or install, but those above definitely did. (flashing at 5 am!)
However, none of this worked, so I rebooted into clockworkmod and reinstalled jellytime 10 and its boot.img.
Now, no matter what rom i put on it, the rom cannot access the sdcard (although hboot and CM have no problem doing so) and the phone can see no cell networks.
the phone current state is:
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF RL

Anybody got any ideas on how to fix my phone?
You unlocked the bootloader with 2.00.0027? I had a Canadian Desire HD with the same bootloader and I couldn't unlock the bootloader until I upgraded to 2.00.0029.
I followed the guide in this forum to unlock my bootloader, get s-off, root, load 4ext, and load a custom rom. By doing all of this, my phone automatically became carrier unlocked.

Yes, the antenna was in place when no network was available.
If you can tell me what radio to flash for an Orange branded UK Desire HD - and more to the point, where to find it! - I'd be happy to give it a try, provided I can get hboot to allow me to flash the radio.

Thank you. I've previously tried two from that list, Orange UK 1.84.61.2 / CSL-HK CHT 1.84.832.2 and HTC 3.12.405.1 WWE.
I had great difficulty installing them as the fastboot flash radio radio.img process would fail, saying remote not allowed.
I was unable to s-off the phone using the methods most pages talked about (froyo/gingerbread exploit), the AAHK was unavailable and frankly, I don't really know what I'm doing.
The WD98IMG.zip method refused to install the zipped radio.img. As a workaround I extracted the rom.zip from the HTC WWE RUU above, unzipped it to a folder, replaced recovery.img with CM recovery.img and also replaced the radio.img with the one from the Orange RUU. Zipped the lot back up, put it on SD card, and hboot picked it up and flashed it.
This got me a working ROM with CM recovery, at which point I installed jellytime11. Then I fastbooted and flashed the boot.img. Once in Jellytime (and here's a tip - if it fails to boot, go and format the cache again) the radio started working. Don't know how stable it is and given how difficult it seems for me to change the radio rom, I will need a good reason to change it again.
Never flashed a rom before three days ago.
I was also having issues with the radio after rooting, unlocking the BL, and getting s-off so I just loaded the most recent radio and it worked.
My baseband is 12.69a.60.29u_26.17.14.11.m.
It's easier to flash roms with s-off as you can just install from cwm without having to extract certain files from the zip.

Hi all
My HTC ONE X has a famous problem: stuck in airplane mode, though Wifi and BT do work. I cannot make calls however, and baseband version is uknown. I thought of updating RADIO and I hope/think it will solve something.
I am on S-ON but with custom ROM installed (Lollipop, AICP). Another ROM does not solve the problem.
Which RADIO could I try? I searched all over the internet, with many already asked if RADIO is country dependent but almost no-one replying to that. So: could I try one?
I already downloaded the last one of this site: http: //w ww.soulfly-rulz. de/HTC-One-X/Radio/ without the spaces because I cannot post links until 10 posts. It is mentioned in the Radio thread.
I live in Holland, using Android 5 and have the Tegra 3 CPU. Could I install it or do I have to choose another RADIO?
Thanks

just flash boot.img from rom zip using this command(from pc)
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Well, I did of course. Does the boot.img contain the same files as the radio zip? I will try to flash the boot.img again if you think it helps, it is a common problem for the ONE X though, even with stock roms.

i think boot.img does not contain same file as radio zip.
boot.img contains ramdisk files which loads essential files into memory in order run an OS.
Either way it has not helped...
Luckily I found some more things I could try, as loading a RUU or other special boot files.
