[Q] Scratch on HOX screen - HTC One X

I have a 1.5 cm scratch in my screen, its not that deep, but it visible. Anyone already fix this, or the only solution is replace the glass?
I found some screen adhesive on Ebay, it says that "repair" but never used before. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...w=screen+repair+htc+one+x&_osacat=0&_from=R40
Thanks

The only option is to replace the screen. You could try polishing or smth but it isn't guaranteed to work.

Yeah, polishing it out will remove the oloephobic coating.
You might be able to find a resin fir repairing glass, but you might also end up making it worse.
A good screen protector should prevent you from seeing the scratches, but IMO they're horrible.

A screen protector could hide the scratch? Because it`s kind of superficial
Any good screen protector?

Once you have a flat reflective surface, you won't notice it. You probably will notice the crappy screen protector more

[Q] Scratches on display

Hello folks,
as title, i have two little scratches on my desire's glass.. damned sand!!! ok, i want to remove them, in some forums i have read about displex, a paste that can make scratches magically vanish.. But in their site, they recomends to NOT use on touch-screen displays... How can I remove this fuxxing scratches???? Thx
displex is really bad for our screens , I tried on a HTC HD .. was a total failure . I d say to avoid it .
No ideea how to remove the scratches tho ..
well, i think i'll write to htc..
Would the toothpaste work? I use it for old CDs and clear model parts, it's basically very fine polishing compound. But then again, that was plastic, and this is glass.
Don't think you're going to get the scratches out - since t is glass.
stick a screen protector ontop. it minimised the visibility of existing scratches. I had a few scuffs... can't see them anymore with the screen protector

or just wear one from the first day? I learnt from a cigarette burn! Nokia, had to change the digitalizer to get a good price for it!

Is it better to use Ultra Clear or antiglare screen protector?
Which is better to make scratches "disappear"?
Thx.

I'm using Martin shields. I've read a lot of reviews if different screen protectors and that consistanly got good reviews. After using it for a few weeks, I can see why.

Covering up a small screen crack?

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know of any product that will allow me to successfully cover up a small crack on the screen near the earpiece (see attachment)?
I've tried the cheap self-adhesive screen protectors from eBay and the screen protector won't adhere to the cracked portion as it is raised i.e. the cracked portion is not at the same level as the rest of the glass.
Any ideas?
the problem is that is a glass, you could use displex, but that only good to fix scratches
Could you try sanding it smooth, then using some quality compound and polish to get a good finish again?
How well does displex work?

i wonder if you can go to a glass or windshield place to get them to fill it in for you. they can fill chips and cracks on a car windshield but not sure if they can do a job that small or if the glass is too different. even if they cant make it perfect it will save you from having to buy a new screen soon since that glass is now compromised and will start to spiderweb even if you dont drop it again.
I think a mirror screen protector will hide the crack.
I cringed a little when I saw that picture. Really sorry for you there, hopefully a wet screen protector will reduce the look. I'd suggest XOskins for any wet app ones.
Ouch. Dude I don't think I'd call it small... wet screen protector will fill in a scratch, its the only reason I have a screen protector on mine. But a) that's a big uneven crack, not a scratch. And b) I would think twice about using a wet install on that, liquid would surely make its way in(not a whole lot but still). No insurance?

Looks like this: http://www.otterbox.com/Samsung-Gal...or=20&start=1&cgid=samsung-galaxy-nexus-cases should hide most of it
How did this happen?
That wasn't my idea of small either. Commiserations

Scratch

Hi , I got a scratch in my nexus screen, is it possible to change just the outer glass? The LCD screen is intact.

You could, but to do it properly you'd have to find a way to separate your digitizer from the original broken glass and re-seal the new glass to the digitizer. This is extremely difficult and nearly impossible to do properly outside of a factory equipped with the proper equipment and it is far easier to simply buy a new digitizer assembly.
If it's just a scratch and not a crack, I would recommend simply putting a wet-application screen protector on the device. According to many posters around here, that typically covers scratches very well and protects from future scratches.

"Unclear" display

Hey guys,
has anyone experienced an "oily" Effect on his display with the original film from oneplus on it. I don't mean fingerprints, my phone is completely clean but some area's just don't look like they are. Is this effect from the film or is my display broken?
I could rip the film off but then I have to get an new one :/
Thank you in advance

Just pull the film off and run your screen naked. It feels great.

I had a HTC One m7 before and after using it 3 years it had so many tiny scratches.
I don't want this to happen with my op3, too.. I always wear them in my pocket, never with a key or anything in it, but the film already has some of those tiny scratches.

Can you recommend one? I only hear people complain about the ones out there on the marked.
Hey dude, IV tried 5 different tempered glass protectors and found the nilkin + to be the best. It doesn't cover full screen and the sides don't stick entirely but it's not even a big deal and it's the best you'll get for this phone at the moment

Currently have it naked, keys and knives don't scratch the screen, be careful when you clean it tho, don't use any spray just a micro fiber should be enough. Plastic screen protectors catch a lot of smudges and scratches really easily. Naked or Tempered glass is currently the only option.

Screen protector

Hey guys how many of you have left the pre installed screen protector on? And does the actual screen hold up to scratches ok and does the naked screen get fingerprints as bad as the screen protector does?

The pre-installed "screen protector" is a very thin piece of plastic similar to the ones you peel off new phones. I put my phone in my pocket with a few keys for a few hours and I was shocked to see TEARS (not scratches) all over the screen. So I immediately removed it to realize it's just thin plastic. I also noticed colors/brightness looked better without it as plastic is not as clear as glass and it affects screen visuals.
The actual screen has Gorilla Glass 3 it should resist scratches but a real screen protector is highly recommended.

Yes mate display looks even more impressive after you remove it glad it helped
The gorilla glass is really soft on this one, so it does scratch a lot (at least in my case). So now I got a tempered glass to mask the scratches and prevent new one from happening.
I just peeled off pre applied from my A70 , I use flip cover

My UK model, bought from the official Samsung online store, didn't come with a factory installed screen protector.
I'm running the latest May update but still find the fingerprint sensor only works 30% of the time despite registering the same thumb 3 times over.
I have a tempered glass protector on, but the sensor was just as poor without it. I find I use face unlock more than anything.
I can live with it, but it's quite a disappointing experience!
Sufyan3D......
Was there any hard to remove left over adhesive?
No

Will the screen protector for the A80 fit the 70?
I like the no notch look of the one for the A80.
