I'm looking for a Rom that is debloated like a CM10 or AOKP. It seems with most TW roms I have about 50 system apps I don't want running and using up resources and have to freeze/uninstall.
Can anyone who is using a TW rom that's super debloated let me know what they're using? I'm looking for Jelly Bean.
Thanks.

Easy delete the apps from the zip file that you do not want.
Do not unzip it just open it and delete what you want to remove.
I usually make a copy of the zip to a different folder so if there is a problem I can get back to the start easy.
Apps are in system/app and data/app.

Yeah options seem to be slim. I just installed i747z and it's been good for battery life which is what I want. Sadly all the CM10 and AOKP variants only get me 6 to 8 hour battery life. I don't have any idea how some people can push 20+ hours unless they just don't use their phones heavily like I do. But most TW roms have the bloat apps which use up memory. I tried downloading the aeonflux early but my dl was interrupted. I'll try it again.

Are we talking about doing this on a stock ROM here?
Wouldn't this cause it to fail the MD5 checksum thus preventing it from flashing with ODIN?
should not need to flash the TW custom roms via Odin each time. once you have CWM, just flash them from there. and if I am correct, you can use 7zip to peek inside the zip file and remove what you need to without re-zipping it and changing the MD5.

I've had great results by using Rom Toolkit and Titanium Backup to manually un-bloat.
For automated de-bloating, I've used Ashaman (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732039)

I highly recommend CSROM
I've found the bertiespeed ROM to be very good in the battery department.
I've been using Loser Rom for a while now. It has a mod to debloat which is nice. I also am using the Ashraman to also debloat. But still my average is at 6 hours. My screen isn't on all the time like the screen shot says. That's with ktoons kernel and conservative governor and juice defender ultimate. Maybe this low battery life is going to be normal when you've got 123 apps installed and a heavy texter. But I don't use live wallpaper or have many widgets. So I'm going to try a few other roms . :-\

Hello, I am looking for a good Rom to flash to my Epic 4G before I give it to a friend of mine. She isn't a geek like me, and doesn't want JB or ICS or anything fancy, she just wants a mostly-stock Epic 4G. I talked it over, and we decided upon a stock rom with bloatware removed (so it would run faster and not have Facebook, Allshare, etc preinstalled).
Do you guys have any suggestions for a basic stock, touchwiz, non-themed rom with bloatware removed?
thanks!
The People's ROM is only lightly themed with bloat removed into a separate file. CleanGB has a more stock theme but you have to edit the build.prop to keep from gettingthe update notifications.

Hello everybody this is P.A.C True all in 1 Rom for the Galaxy Nexus (toro)
(Was originally just standard PAC)
I decided to change the name to Mianogen PAC due to using the Mianogen theme, which I think you will find very pleasing to the eye :cyclops:
Considering I wasn't able to find a build for the toro I decided to try and build it myself. What is PACman? The idea was to remove the need for a hunt of rom and cure flasholicsm by providing everything xda has in rom development in a single bloat free rock stable rom. This is the FIRST rom of its kind with a hybrid framework consisting on cm10.1, AOKP and AOSPA. What makes PACman unique is this perfect blend of all of these.
Features:
Hybrid Framework
CM10.1
AOKP MR-1
AOSPA 3.15
Per App DPI
Per App Color
Pie Controls
cLock
Hardware Key Control
Any Widget on Lockscreen
CM Profiles
Lock Screen Shortcuts
Lock Screen Ring Targets
Fresh compiled CM 10.1 Kernel (I recommend AK kernels)
Init.d Support
Team Baked MMS app (Has Theme options)
Memory Leak Fix
Personal Screenshots:
Attachments Below
Recommended Installation Procedure:
Wipe Data/Factory Reset (This does not affect your Internal/External storage)
Format/System (This does not affect your Internal/External storage)
Flash Rom
Flash Gapps
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Reboot
Then pat yourself on the back and profit :highfive:
The stock kernel is pretty basic as far as settings. I do suggest using AK kernels as they are rock solid which you can find here.
Downloads:
http://d-h.st/KqO
Gapps:
http://goo.im/gapps
Changes From the Last Version:
Removed CM Camera
build.prop tweaks
I will try to do a build when ever I see activity on the PAC github or whenever I feel an update needs to be released.
Credits and Thanks:
Cyanogenmod
AOKP
AOSPA
TeamBaked for the use of the MMS app.
tung91 for his Mianogen theme that I use in this rom which you can find the Premium version here.
All the great developers here on XDA that have influenced me into building my own stuff. :good:
Going to try this thx

I'm not to sure but, I can look into it. But I believe the fix for that was changing the dalvikvm.heapgrowth from 96mb to 64mb in the build.prop.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Giving this a try.

Try running with the latest AK kernel as that is what I'm using and I've been good all day plus I changed the dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit from 96m to 64m in the build.prop. That helped with the memoryleak. before I changed that I had about 65 to 50mb free for RAM now that I changed it I now have 171mb free.

Found build.prop edits i had to make..
For the memory: dalvik.vm.heapgrowthlimit from 96m to 64m
and for the market: ro.product.model=yakju
not sure if you guys are having the same issues. But this worked for me.
I used the GAPPS without gmail baked in (From the Paranoid nightly thread) so i could get the CM camera with HDR.
things going good so far now here. Maybe add those in the next build if users are having the same issue.
P.S using AK kernel Diamond and NexusLouder for 4.2.2
I have a Galaxy Note II running Paranoid Android version 3.15, (Android 4.2) and I'm trying to get the stock apps working, like the stock camera/gallery, S Planner, S Note, etc. They don't seem to work on 4.2 based ROMs but work on 4.1 based ones. I copied all the neccesary APKs to system/app and wiped dalvik cache, but the apps don't show up on my app tray. Also set permissions for the apps to rw-r-r using root explorer, still nothing. Am I doing something wrong? Any of you can help out?

They rely heavily on the TouchWiz framework, so it's highly unlikely they'd work on AOSP/AOKP-based ROMs without heavy editing.

-NOTE
If you have an SDcard that is 64 GB and formatted exfat it is HIGHLY recommended you format the card to Fat32 before flashing, or remove the exfat formatted card before/during flashing rom.and during Boot Process.
This Rom does not have exfat support (nor any 4.2.2 roms at the moment that I can think of) if you have a 64gb sdcard format it to fat32 to work with this
FAQ WIP
1) Where are some Apps in the Market? Some say they are incompatible
New Builds Come with a Modded Market, but if it updates and you have issues you need to change your DPI. The Rom will need to be changed and rebooted a couple times for all to be available in Market, but luckily it's Easy!
Go to Settings, Interface, general, LCD Density. That Menu guides you right through the process by clicking on the options
2)Where are the options I'm used to from CM and AOKP?
They're prob in there, and more. Slim just has a different layout for things in the menus. I find them to be intuitive and well thought out.
3) Where are my Extended Reboot Options when I Long-Press the power button?
SlimRom has a neat feature to stop your kids (or anyone that doesnt know what they're doing) from accidentally booting into recovery.
Go to Settings, Developer's Options, Advanced Reboot
4)Where are some apps i'm used to?
Prob in the Market, the Rom is light for a reason
Google Now is not Included. Go to App Market and download "Search"
"Maps" can also be downloaded there
5) Some of my Pic Messages are delayed or don't go through
Change your roaming data setting in Settings, more, mobile networks. Most Aosp based Roms have those off by default. Doesn't really matter on Sprint though so check roaming for all options your comfortable with. All my MMS has been working perfectly.
6) Does 4g, GPS, Camera and MMS work?
Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes
Maps is not included with Rom, download from Market
7) Does this Rom Support 64gb SDcards?
Yes, but in Fat32 Format. It is highly recommended that your 64gb sdcard is either formatted to fat32, or not present during flash (will update per feedback)
8) Why is this Rom so amazing?
Because that's what the Slim Team intended, I'm just happy now to be running it on the Note 2.
Biggest thanks to the Slim team for all their Work, and Slick Rick for helpin me out.

Note[partially outdated] - Root may be Disabled by default, got to "About Phone" and click the Build version several times to activate Developer Options (exciting, I Know)
Then go to Developer options in the Settings menu and enable Root Access. and for Good measure I always go to Advanced, Superuser, settings (by hitting menu key once there) and enabling/re-enabling root access for adb/apps

FAQ WIP
1) Where are some Apps in the Market? Some say they are incompatible
I Suggest right away Changing your DPI and gettings your apps, then setting your DPI how you like. "Search" should be Updated like this to work properly. The Rom will need to be changed and rebooted a couple times for all to be available in Market, but luckily it's Easy!
Go to Settings, Interface, general, LCD Density. That Menu guides you right through the process by clicking on the options

Answer for your question is in OP. Follow directions in settings, interface, general, LCD settings.
Next version will have modded DPI APKs

Hey Slesh,
Will these addons work on the this ROM, or are they included already, photosphere for example?

Pretty sure Photosphere(at least as far as Slim is concerned) is only for supported devices, mainly Nexus devices. So I wouldnt try that
And the Slim Gapps with the modded apks will be included and odexed in next release, somehow kissed those and one needs to follow procedure in OP for now for some apps, it takes like 2 mins. This thing reboots so quick its nothing
Google now and voice dialer I'm not sure of

So this is just basically a debloated sky note vanilla?
Not trying to be negative but I don't really think it's a rom ya know? You just added some updated apps and removed some.
Regardless tho. Thanks for the effort.
P.s you should also have a Thanks section. And thank Sean

i removed alot more than a few apps. like i stated above trimmed over 350mb.Its pretty much a barebones skynote rom. you should probably read the OP again. lol i also gave him credit in the op as well. twice. (even said his rom is the best ive used for this phone. Much respect)
anyways this rom is intended for people that like to have a very light-weight stock rom with great battery life. i dont like having to spend 15 minutes everytime i flash a ROM deleting all sorts of crap i dont need. and this rom fixes that problem. if only one person uses it other than me, thats one person i helped out. and its also easy access for me when i need to find this file again. :good:

The reason I edited it was because using the Tapatalk app I accidently deleted the whole op when I went to copy the text to paste into the comment. Luckily whenever I make a post on the laptop I Ctrl+c the whole thing as a checkpoint. Swear on my kid no bs. The thanks was there from the beginning.
Thanks though.

I've already got the leaked India ota for their note 2. Made a flashable zip for the ROM But it won't boot. It just sits on the boot animation forever. I think its because we need an updated bootloader for it to install. Soon though. We should have our KK update this month or next month says sammobile.
