I just flashed MIUI last night and noticed that my battery is being sucked dry pretty fast. I suspected that it is due to sync being switched on. Where can I make adjustments to the frequencies of the sync?
Either from the app or Settings>Personal>Accounts & Sync
Although I didn't have ANYTHING setup last night when trying it and lost 6% in about 10 mins - something's not right
Try resetting your battery indicator http://www.miui-au.com/howtos/reset-battery-indicator/. It is also recomended somewhere on the miui-au.com site to not charge your phone while flashing because it is somehow disruptive for the indicator.
I know all that, I wipe:
data/cache
dalvik-cache
battery stats
rotation settings
before flashing ANY ROM. Battery life is still crap

The weird thing is I wasn't charging the battery while flashing. I find it a bit surprising for MIUI 1.2.4 to be quite a beast in battery usage.

What would you consider a good battery life?? I flashed to 1.2.4 and it seems to last me all day without any problems?BUt I have noticed slight 5%-8% drop in the 1st hour or so but then it stablises throughtout the day. Ive not tweaked my phone with setCPU and I dont intend to either.
Something is rly wrong with your MIUI. Anyway, never use that Kernel which comes with miui. Use Vork or Coutts Kernel.
pls download current widget from market and test how much mA it drains in "screen off". im using miui-au 1.2.4 r2 with vork kernel and im losing 1% per our with wifi, sync and gps on. it uses 4-5 mA with screen off.
With previous MIUI builds, and with my own ROM I'm using now, I can go from 7:30am til midnight and still be on circa 50% battery. This is with my normal weekday usage. It goes down to about 30% by end of the day on weekends as I use the phone more
This build drops 5% in a few minutes and I just don't see that as being any good

I don't need to download anything, the ROM was dropping battery with NOTHING setup except for Wi-Fi. I didn't even setup my Gmail account to get my contacts!!
I think I can skip the obvious as I know full well what I'm doing and never had this issue with previous MIUI builds, and I never use the stock kernel - I always go for a Coutts one before first boot
I got the note 2 and im currently running the Omega rom with the Note2core kernel. The stand by time on my phone sucks alot!
I turned my phone into air plane mode at 6 AM in the morning and i turned it off Airplane mode at 2 PM and i had about 20 % left ! and my screen was not even on all that time ! Guys i really do not want another huge bulky ass extended battery on my note II i just want the phone to get me through the damn day! my brightness is set to 50%. The battery when my screen is on is good but not great aswell it lasts around 1-2 minutes on a single %.. What would you recommend guys..i really need help on this one' TY.

Install Juice Defender, it helps managing wifi and 3G/4G on/off when you don't need them, actually the most thing kills your batteries are wifi and 3g.
I usually get 2% drops from sleeping for 8hrs.
btw im using WanamliteV2 and redpill 0.9 BEST COMBO!!!!!
Hi, ill tell you a little bit about myself and then get into suggesting how you can get better battery life. Okay, i have a Note 2 flashed with WanamLite V2.0 & RedPill Kernel. The battery when i got my Note 2 on the stock rom was great. But i ventured into a custom rom for the further enhancements to my experience. So i flashed on WanamLite ROM V1.5 and the regular RedPill Kernel (Rev.0.5), With only Power saving mode on and brightness set to Auto. I would get approx 20 hours total time & 8-9 hours scree on time. Then of late i decided to try out Omega ROM V7.1 + uNEAK Kernel. = Results were the battery life and performance sucked! So within 2 hours i flashed back on the newest version of WanamLite ROM (V2.0) and this time flashed RedPill Ultimate (Rev 0.7). (This version of RedPill kernel had the ability to undervolt the phone so i decided to try it out.). I undervolted each clock speed -50mV. And than my standby time went to 27 hours with 10-12 hours screen on time. (With the same settings as above). This week i decided to give Omega ROM one more chance. So a few days ago i flashed on Omega ROM V7.2 + RedPill Kernel Ultimate Rev 0.7. This time my experience has been amazing. I get better battery life than WanamLites ROM. (And i also undervolted the phone the same way as i did previously.) So as of now my total standby time is approx 30 hours with 10-13 hours screen on time.) I also have my WiFi sleep policy set to "Never" And under location services i have all 3 options uncheckmarked, motion turned off.
Getting good battery does not only depend on the OS / Kernel, it depends on you as well. And your habits. What features you have turned on. (E.G, Wifi, Data, GPS, Bluetooth etc.). Here is what i would recommend you try out:
1. Flash WanamLite ROM (V2.0 or newer).
a) While in Aroma Installer choose NOT to install any of the Bloatware. (AllShare, Talk, Yahoo News etc.)
2. Flash RedPill Ultimate Kernel (Rev 0.7 or newer).
3. Install SetCPU. Set governor to Pegasusq, and IO Scheduler to Deadline. (I get the best battery life with this combination).
4. Undervolt the CPU Clock-speed's by -50mV.
5. Turn Power Saving Mode ON - In settings.
6. Turn OFF Motion based features.
7. Set WiFi sleep policy to Never.
8. In settings under Location Services. Uncheckmark all 3 options.
9. Turn LTE OFF (If your phone has LTE).
10. And if your using a WiFi network, turn Mobile Data OFF. And vice-versa.
11. If using Bluetooth, turn it OFF when your immediately done. Same goes for GPS.
12. Leave brightness set to Auto OR under 30%-40%.
13. Invest in Titanium Backup, and use it to freeze or uninstall bloatware or junk software you DONT need! Also use it to regularly backup your apps, in case you need to flash another rom in one touch you can restore all your apps!
Try my above suggestions, and if you are still getting horrible or bad battery life than there most likely is a defect in your battery! With doing the above, you should at MINIMUM get 1 day out of your battery! (With doing the above, i can get upto 3 days!!! With medium usage! And atleast 2 days with heavy usage!)
My $0.02 cents, hope my suggestions will help you!

Hi, I would say go with WanamLite as no 2 Android phones are the same, and you are currently on Omega ROM and experiencing bad battery life and performance. I have power saving on all the time. I have never had any issues with lag! With power saving mode on i get a benchmark of 5800, with it turned off i get a benchmark of 6700. So just from that you can gather i have no performance related issues with power saving mode on. Also dont forget to flash RedPill ULTIMATE! A good kernel makes a HUGEEEEEE difference in performance and battery life! I have tried a few different kernels, so i can safely say that RedPill Ultimate is the only kernel that gave me the best battery life ALONG with amazing performance WITHOUT ANY COMPROMISES!! And media using up 62% of your battery that is something that is not right! Try removing the Music Player Widget from your homescreen and see if this persists. But once you flash another rom this issue should automatically be resolved.

Oh and dont forget to Wipe Data / Factory Reset AND Go into Mounts and Format /System!!!!! - When flashing WanamLite or any other ROM.

Try the suggestions i gave you in my first post, including the flashing of WanamLite & RedPill. Follow all my instructions and use it for a day. Tell me tomorrow how things fare out,
I dont everything you told me to do except the power save i unchecked screen power saving that made my phone lag and ive been drawing on the s note and its been in 57 for a couple of minutes..i think why my phone keeps draining battery when my screen is off is because of deep sleep..it drained 80 % when i was on stock kernel i hope that doesnt happen with red pill i flashed the ultimate 0.7.
Thanks alot man again ill give you my results tomorrow!

i dont understand, so you DID everything i told you to do including flashing WanamLite? Also in deep sleep the phone uses less power ... also i forgot to mention. Go into Settings - SPen, and turn on the battery saving feature. It REALLY helps. What it does is, when the S-Pen is docked inside the phone, it turns OFF the Wacom digitizer thats embedded into the phones regular digitizer saving you battery! I noticed a significant boost in battery life when i first turned that feature on.
Yup did everything including flashing Red pill and Wanam rom (i already had it in my pc ! ) but im using CPU spy and my phone isnt going to deep sleep im pretty sure my battery drain when in standby is from it not going to Deep sleep

Yeah i undervolted each one of them to -50 using setCPU it definitley bumped up my battery life but ..i really need the phone to go to deep sleep cause i just left the phone for about 3 minutes and dropped 3 %..should i update to the Stable version of 0.9 or stay with 0.7 ultimate?

There are 2 versions of RedPill, Stable, Ultimate. I was using stable for the longest time. And recently started using Ultimate. Ultimate gives you the features to undervolt. And i would recommend you stop flashing rom after rom and same with kernel, You have to give the ROM and Kernel some time to set in. Now that you have followed my instructions i would suggest you just use the device normally without worrying about battery life for atleast a couple of days. Hopefully by then everything should improve and settle in. The whole issue of deep sleep, as far as I know the phone has to be sitting idle for quite some time before it goes into a deep sleep. I could be wrong. The moment you turn off the screen the phone does not / is not supposed to go into deep sleep! Also one more thing you can do, which i also forgot to mention: Go into SetCPU, slide to the right to get into the "Profiles" page. And make a new profile, so that when you turn off your screen, the Minmum CPU speed is 200 Mhz, and the Maximum CPU speed is 400 Mhz. That will also boost the battery because it will limit the processor to down-throttle while the screen if off! Remember, dont jump the gun and flash anything else. Let everything settle down and than let me know tomorrow if you see any improvements!
---------- Post added at 03:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:39 PM ----------
Oh and one more thing, since I believe this is the third ROM you have flashed today or at least the second. Boot Into ClockworkMod Recovery and goto advanced, and wipe your battery status!
Batterylife issues?
Well... I'm running Jellybam (CM10/PA/AOKP) and I can use mobile data, Wlan, GPS, gaming, listening music and phone about 11 hours while surfing in the web and stuff and I'm going down to kinda 10% in that time. Oh, I got the N.E.A.K. kernel flashed.

I havnt tried that ROM, but i have certainly tried that Kernel, and i didnt have any good luck with it. Based on your usage i think maybe you would benefit from trying out WanamLite ROM + RedPill kernel. You will most certainly get close to 18-24 hours standby time and more than double your screen on time. Try it out!
Install BetteryBatteyStats and then check Kernel Wakelocks and Partial Wakelocks.
Should help you narrow down what is causing your phone not to go into deep sleep. Probably some rogue app.
As citizenlee said, install better battery stats. From what you've said it definitely sounds like a wakelock issue because I have wifi, data and gps always on with stock rom and kernel and my phone gets me through the day easily. Normally about 17 hours total time with screen on about 5-6 hours.
I also have autosync on with everything as push.
Can you post a screenshot of your battery usage including the main usave page and the detailed one that you get when you click on the graph

Perhaps with airplane mode on (wifi, bluetooth, nfc, data, gps etc all disabled) and screen brightness all the way down, it could be possible to get that 13hrs if you are just reading a book?
But with realistic everyday use does seem farfetched lol
Hi everyone,
from 1 month ago i notice very low battery life, my phone is 0% at the afternoon, i always use AK series with Paranoid ( switch sometimes to AOKP,CM and Stock ), Full disk encryption, this is normal, somebody had this problem from 4.2.2, but the strange thing is, this battery drain is high only when using custom kernel ( tried franco, Ak, and Lean), with other kernel i don't have this problem, yesterday i tried with full rom reflash without any custom kernel my battery life. i come back to home at 22:00 ( 10:00PM ) with 20% , same usage like always.
Use always 3G data on, with 50% time on wireless, all sync on , google now off, Apps timeout sync set to 1 hour
I investigate about this thing, i notice for first thing this: custom kernel is too aggressive, new interactive designed for 3.4 series is too aggressive, switch to MAX without any need ( 10-20% load ), but i don't know why battery life is so low anyway...
Franco kernel is more horrible for me, battery went down like 1%/4min ( with some sms and whatsapp )
lean seems more neutral here, but always high battery drain
Here the are some stats from this day testing ( from 100% to 0% ) (*All kernel using stock kernel configuration )
1) Stock kernel
16.44 Hours on battery
02.57 Hours on screen on
2) Ak Kernel
14.08 Hours on battery
01.44 Hours on screen on
3) Franco kernel
07.49 Hours on battery
02.03 Hours on screen on
4) Lean Kernel
18.31 Hours on battery
2.11 Hours on screen on
Anyone else has noticed this strange issue? on custom kernel i always noticed overheating too, this is very strange!
Try ondemandplus, I've had no problems with that.
Unless you just have to have facebook provide notifications on stuff disable the facebook notifications. I did that on my GNex and saw an increase of several hours to my battery life with more screen on time. I've also noticed for some reason that texting seems to drain my battery really quickly and can't seem to find a reason for this.
I know this, disabled notification stuff from day1, but the strange thing is stock kernel has no problem ,46 % with 2 hours battery on stock
Send from Galaxy Nexus with Tapatalk 2
Here is mine today. I'm running stock with Franco Kernel. Everything is syncing except for facebook. I also have about 1:30 hr's of phone calls today.
Hey guys,
my Endeavoru PVT (Tegra3 International) is now about one and a half year old, I can't remember how it was in the beginning, but now my battery drain is too heavy in my opinion.
At first I had AHRD, then I switched between some ROMs but now I am stuck at CyanogenMod 10.1.3 because as time went by, I started to hate Sense and I love the standard Android look. The thing is, since I switched from OrDroid to CM 10.2 or better said from Android 4.1 to 4.2+, the drain got heavy.
I removed all wakelocks, I use XM-Kernel with Smartmax+Row and limited the CPU freq, I turned off sync, gps and I only use 3G if I need the speed.
I mostly use whatsapp and rarely browse the internet with my phone, when I wake up at 7:00 AM I disconnect it from the charging cable, then I go to work etc. and at about 9:00 PM the battery only has 20-30% left and the average screen on time is maximum 2 hours overall and that's clearly not ok...
As I already said, I removed all wakelocks, the only wakelocks come from the kernel when the screen is active. So please do not link the ultimate battery life thread or something like that... I have no wakelocks and my settings are ok.
And when I start gaming, the battery drains 1% per minute which is insane! So I can't play any games at all.
With OrDroid and XM-Kernel I had the best battery life and almost no bugs.
Today I wanted to install Skydragon 2.0, but it was pretty buggy. So I switched to AHRD but with the XM-Kernel (17 beta for Sense5) my computer didn't detect the One X, I switched back to Stock Kernel, then it got recognized but the files were all displayed like a mess and I couln't copy any files onto the One X. Then I was pissed and restored my CM 10.1.3 backup... Is there any way to fix this??? Please no mass storage mods, these are not stable and don't work sometimes..
A few days ago I bought a One X+ battery, it should arrive next week. Maybe the battery is broken, but that doesn't explain why it drains so fkng much battery when I start to play games! And it doesn't fix my problems with Skydragon or AHRD. I would love to stay at CM, but there are the common issues which force me to switch to a sense rom.
I will probably switch back to OrDroid with XM-Kernel when the new battery arrives, hopefully it will fix the heavy drain. Can someone explain what could cause this massive drain? I mean, a phone should last at least 24 hours not 14...
Or is there any fully working AOSP rom with Android 4.1 for the One X? So I could benefit from the battery life and the look of Android 4.1.
Did you try erasing your sd card? Corrupt files might cause heavy media drain on aosp without showing wakelocks. I would recommend trying a sense 5 Rom, get a custom kernel and set it to smartmax and row like you are used to. If that doesn't work, replacing the battery is your last call. Good luck!
Go for a full wipe of your device & SD card first than try installing anew sense 5 rom and see whether the issue still persists?

My sdcard is almost empty and the problem doesn't only happen on aosp but on all Android 4.2 or higher roms.
Did you even read my post? I already said, I tried Skydragon and ARHD and I had bugs... and yes, I made a full wipe 3 times.

Stop being rude to someone trying to help you. Yes I did read your post obviously. You didn't state if you wiped your sd card. So what do you expect from the community if you figured it out all by yourself? If it's not the software it's the hardware, replace the battery.

I didn't meant the part with the sd card, I meant the sentence were you said I should try a sense rom, which I already tried as I stated.
I'm sorry if you interpreted my post as an insult.
Edit: Ok I fixed the USB problem, I installed the newest HBoot and used lyapotas Kernel, now it works without problems. Now I'm going to fix all wakelocks and wait for my new battery.
I removed all wakelocks now and I got about one hour more since then, but at some times the drain is heavyer, I tried to backtrace the drain with GSAM and BBS (root) but there are no Problems with wakelocks. The battery drained from one minute to the other from 72 to 78, I don't know if the stats didn't refresh correctly, but I am now pretty sure it's the battery.
Okay, my battery arrived. I replaced it and besides I fixed my Wi-Fi with a piece of aluminium foil. The drain on the first start was heavy, but I think it has to undergo some full charges to calibrate.
But I have one more problem.. I'm on ARHD 33.1 with lyapotas LM kernel (XM beta didn't work very well), but I can't undervolt with SetCPU (paid for root version). Every time I want to save the undervolt settings SetCPU itself crashes and I don't really want to use TricksterMod for undervolting.
Is it because of lyapotas kernel?
I already reinstalled SetCPU two times..
Update: Wow, I never had 78% battery left after work! I guess it was my battery that was broken, so the thread can be closed.
I'm currently running the stock 10r release with the SkyDragon kernel. Phone seems to be sleeping OK, but I've been having this wake lock for a week now. Battery life has been dramatically reduced in its presence. No xposed, any ideas what could be causing it??
I had the same problem with sky dragon. Idk what to tell you i just ended up going to Pac-Man rom or the lollipop rom they have 24 hour idle time and 5 or 6 hour screen on time. With stock rom i got maybe 2 -4 hours and only like 12 hour idle time. I am gonna flash my rom back to SkyDragon if everything permits as such. Ill run a couple of things to see if i can figure out what is the worse wake lock. There is a app also made by greenify that is a wakelock detector that might tell you and with that you can post a forum question asking how to disable such wakelock. Thats what i'm doing. I got me a quick circle case and on'y stock roms at the moment support them.
Theres clearly something runnin in the back ground. For a day try not runn anything nd make sure u hve no apps running in the background
