Bootloader unlocking doesn't give you a rooted Phone.

Put superuser.zip form their site on your sd card
Hotboot a kernel now with cwm. Install zip

Able to unlock bootloader but not flash anything

Hi,
I was able to unlock my bootloader following the steps on the Cyanogen site and I'm pretty sure all my drivers are sound but when I go to flash boot (fastboot flash boot boot.img) it gives me a waiting for device message. I can
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0fce getvar version
and it comes back with 0.3. I'm not a total noob at flashing. I have my boot.img ready and I'm in the right directory so I don't understand what's going on. I have an R800i.

[Q]Re-Unlock bootloader after relocked

Had anyone tried it before?
After I unlock my bootloader using the official method, it is a silly way to unlock your Arc S bootloader. You will lost your DRM key and FOTA bricked, I learned my lesson. If you want to unlock your phone Testpointer method is obviously a better way.
So I relock my bootloader again using a common method you can find online:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=20422618
fastboot flash -i 0x0fce getvar version
fastboot flash -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
Error: cannot load '0x0fce' is what I got after execute these command.
I am so desperate to get my bootloader unlock again and manage to switch between locked and unlock state.
Is there something to do with preset.ta file so I can unlock my device again. If the re-lock patch involving this file.
Well! It seem to solved.
Using following command:
fastboot getvar version
fastboot oem unlock 0xKEY
Thanks you guys!

[Q] Flash/Root/Bootloop problem

Reads a lot, first post.
Cannot find answer to my specific situation so I hope anyone can help.
ATM my phone boots to HTC logo and Vodafone logo and restarts after (infinite loop) (only when loader is connected)
phone is relocked and RUU wont run because battery life is below 30%. Cannot load any further (loads no longer then an hour)
Cannot unlock phone (fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin gives ERROR 0000008 00120000 of not known which error)
Anyone an idea?
Charge the phone by switching off for more than 5 hours

( I'm in Fastboot menu)
when I power down phone automatic restarts to fastboot
In fastboot flash 5.8.4.0 cwm touch then enter recovery. That should get you charging

I get this in CMD
sending 'recovery' <5742 KB>
FAILED <unknown status code>
finished. total time: 1.139s
maybe because bootloader is relocked?
Must be. Unlock it again first.
Sorry to have missed that step

When I try to unlock I get various errors like 00120000 or 00000008
FIX
problem is fixed. If u have same problem here is how to fix:
In your fastboot/adb folder create .bat file and type this:
"@echo off
:start
fastboot getvar battery-voltage
fastboot reboot-bootloader
ping /n 6 localhost >nul
goto start"
in cmd type fastboot reboot-bootloader (to fastboot USB)
start the .bat and there you can see how far your device is loaded. When it is at 3675 mV stop the program and quick type in a cmd: "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" (the file you got from HTCdev when you were unlocking first time). There, your phone is now unlocked. No need for RUU, just flash the newest CWM (5.8.4.0) and mount your SD, put an mod on it and flash out of ur problems
good luck

I've installed all the correct drivers and followed all the instructions, typed in 'fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version' in cmd and it responds correctly, but when I type 'fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x8953C6AC2154D8C9' to unlock the bootloader, it always gives me the same error;
FAILED <remote: oem unlock failed!>

Have you double checked your unlock code? Or have you checked the root status like darkharbinger81 said. Both are common mistakes. Very easy to check too.
Bootloader unlocked: Yes.
R800i
Android version 4.0.2.a.0.42
Do I need to root it first? And the same error surfaces for my Xperia Sola... MT27i, stock 6.1.1.B.1.54, BL unlock: yes

Check (and doublecheck) what IMEI number you entered in Sony's site.
Type in dialer *#*# 7378423#*#* , go to service info> configuration and check your IMEI.
And IMPORTANT, that number will be 15 digits, but in Sony's site for bootloader unlocking you enter only 14 digits (ignore last digit)
If that fail, try some other thing:
-put usb cable in back usb ports of your motherboard
-try different usb cable
And finaly, as i recall, try by typing 0xfce instead of 0x0fce ( 'fastboot.exe -i 0xfce oem unlock 0xKEY)
Okay I went through the whole procedure again, double checked everything, the website gave me a different code and it worked this time. Thanks everybody!
