[Q] Rear housing, is this original? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, do you think this is original like it came from Samsung?
If not, where can I buy one? Thank you!

But its not the cover its the rear housing
Are u aware?

Probably 99% of sites that sell them are just "High Quality" parts. Alot of sites claim they are 'OEM", I doubt there is such thing as real "OEM" unless its from Samsung factory.

If so? Where do you think I can buy legit? Samsung will surely sell it on high price.

Galaxy Flip Cover - Worn out!

Been using it for 1.5 Months, i know it's under some stress, but common, is it that cheap??
Are the edges stitched?
I have the same problem with mine, and I have heard of a lot others to with ruined flip cases. Poor quality.. I hope this dont reflect the quality of the actual phone..

This is my 3rd galaxy phone, never had ANY problems with them hardware wise.
So i'm not worried, they just didn't think the flip cover through when they designed it.
I don't think it's stitched, it's glewed, it's not real leather too, it's plastic.
The concept isn't that bad however the actual design is a real shame.
I can confirm the same worn out symptoms after 2 months of use.
The Note itself is fine.
The case is not made by Samsung and is probably contracted out to the lowest bidder. Granted that doesn't make it any better since we still spend a fair amount of money on accessories like this. But it doesn't really reflect on the actual Samsung device quality imo.

Theres a reason this case is offered freee every where.
For christ's sake, why won't any other company create the same case with higher quality material that doesn't leak glue?
not worth it even cheap
I just bought some stuff from amazon.co.uk sent to my UK address (as the idiots won't ship to Oz). I could have bought the stock Note case quite cheap but did not based on your experiences.
Hopefully reduced sales will get them thinking, but that is reaching, I guess.
Same here!
Original cover has worn out on the edges, so I have started looking for the good cover. Any good suggestions?
If it was 4$ id get 10 of them and change every 2 months. But the one i have cost 25$
I am happy i saved u some $$$ i doubt samsung cares about the flip cover.

Glass for our beloved Nexus

Woe has striked me and my Nexus' front glass is shattered. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new one? Maybe an upgraded one?
Unfortunately there is no "glass" replacement ... only "screen" replacement (amoled + glass which is not so cheap) - about $300 USD.
Dammit. Thank you for the reply. It's cheaper to buy a new phone then..
You may want to keep the phone for a while. Is not uncommon for people to destroy other parts of the phone while keeping the screen intact (like water damage or burned motherboard/storage). you may find broken phones sold as spare parts, in which case you may find a good screen at a reasonable price.
Anyway ... I'm sorry about your loss, to say so. The geek in me is crying for you .

Contact Samsung, though it won't be covered under warranty, they will apparently replace the screen for around $160 USD (according to a few posts on reddit).
Wouldn't hurt to chuck them an email and get a quote anyway

very easy to replace the back housing, i had to do it cause my bezel was scratched after dropping it. Bought a white one from cnn.cn and worked great had all the antenna's. 27 bucks and the white bezel looks pretty nice on the black phone. Probably took me 5-10 minutes to replace it. very easy to do.
Its just a battery housing why is there a need to remove everything?
takes me just 15 seconds to remove the battery housing and put on a new one.

That would be the battery door your talking about. I assume since he is looking for the housing he means the whole back plate and bezel.
ah...my bad..
I'm also looking to replace my housing. The sales associate dropped my phone after I paid for it and he wouldn't take responsibility because I gave him permission to show me the features. I bought it in HK and the return policy doesn't really exist there.

that is crazy, don't think I would've left the store without making a scene lol. Like i said you can search ebay or cnn.cn. They both have them, i bought mine from cnn because it stated that it had the antennae's. Very easy to replace about 8 screws.

How is the condition of the "china" made housings? you can find the OEM or original ones. How does it compare to the original one?
I am just using my phone without a casing, and I just figured the original housing is my best case, when I've worn it out I'll just get a new housing.

There are two types of electronics in Hong Kong: Domestic and Imported.
Domestic would be Samsung devices specially fitted with Hong Kong firmware.
Imported would be devices fitted with another country's firmware, and shops in Hong Kong would flash a HK firmware onto it.
This was my case, I bought an imported version which was originally from India.
A HK firmware was flashed onto the phone which voided the warranty.
I can recommend for parts http://www.parts4repair.com/, they sdnd me working usb module and great service. They should have housing as well.

just be careful, don't wear wool/electrostatic stuff while doing it(touch something connected to ground to discharge)
Use tools, and don't force anything. Take note of where everything was.
Also just change the minimum. Sometimes its fun to take stuff apart. However that way you can seriously damage other stuff.

[Q] Broken White GSM Nexus value

Hey all, So my white nexus has a cracked glass. I know to replace it would cost me about $150 since It's recommend to replace the whole kit. How much do you think i can sell this phone on ebay? Wondering if It's worth selling instead of fixing. I do like the phone but I rather put that $150 towards another phone. Maybe Nexus 4 when it comes back in stock. Pic attached. Thank you for your feedback..

There are a lot of factors that can apply when selling damaged items. For example, if any of the internals are salvageable or if the device is able to boot. Anyway, from my research on sold items on ebay the normal (grey) Galaxy Nexus - "sold for parts" can be as little as $30 and as high as $130. In your case most buyers would want the body to be in perfect condition so that they can do a body swap with their grey colored ones or a screen swap. Considering the fact that ones that work are selling for $275-$399 I believe you could get to $150 if you tried. Just my opinion though. I cannot say for a fact you will get that much. It all depends if the market is there. You can always set a reserve on ebay so if bidders don't bid up to or past the reserve then the item doesn't sell. Just an idea. Good luck!

[HELP] New Display LCD purchase recommendations

Hello:
I wanted to know if any of you knows of a good seller on ebay or any other place thats not amazon where i can buy a new lcd screen replacement for my ze551ml, i was trying to purchase one and i notice some ads doesnt have the logo and i wanted one with the logo on it, or maybe its just that they erase the logo to be able to sell it?
Well if anyone knows of a good seller or can pass me the link for one please tell me.
Thanks in advance!
If it's any help, I've bought several LCDs and/or front glass for various phone over the years. Some sellers black out the brand names in pictures. (Even if the item ships with a logo.) A lot of replacement glass has arrived with a black sticker covering the "Samsung" (or whatever) logo. I can only assume this is for copyright protection, limiting sellers' liability for any push back against parts sold outside of "official" channels, and/or 3rd party replacements.
Just because it's missing from the pics doesn't mean the replacement won't have it. May be worth emailing the seller(s)?

as awoolf said. you must not worry about brand logo it is always written whether shown on image or not. here are few recommendations. from where ever you buy buy screen with frame. with frame it is super easy to replace and not much difference in price. without frame i have broken new screen replacement many time. second if you can wait always buy from china. especially from aliexpress. they send quality product with cheap price. last week i got one for ZE551ML for $23. it came with glasss screen guard and tools. it took 12 days to reach me from order date. use app to order screen. as a new user you may get $2 or $4 coupon. but keep in mind from wherever you order get it with frame. here is a link which i bought.

But wouldn't the sellers on Ebay and such be some sort of knockoffs ? Because I need an LCD, mine is a little bit cracked, but I dont wan't a chinese low quality copy. I would like genuine ASUS parts!
I just bought a replacement from this seller works flawlessly eBay
•No dead pixels
•Asus Logo on the front
•No digitizer issues
•2 day shipping
I love my zenfone 2 all over again after installing this new screen its actually a very easy fix as well.

buddy you need to understand from where ever you buy weather said to be original. it will be a copy. untill you buy directly from asus service center. all so called genuine are copy. asus issue original part only on a RMA to service center only.
as per quality is concerned either you buy from ebay, amazon or local sellers. it will ultimately come from china. i have purchased several LCD's from china had no issue and no one could differentiate it from original.

Had a replacement screen from China via eBay and bought the screen, digitizer and frame all in one for around $30 and no issues at all
Original one died, had the lines through it
So in essence why go original when the original stuffed up.
So happily went with one that offered good warranty and all worked out well
Had bought a second screen and frame also
So have a full frame spare and essentially glass as well
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD
I also have the infamous tearing lines on mine, I ordered this screen with frame so no glueing or things like this
https://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/0.html?orderId=86319706999709&productId=32823303482
Should take 15 minutes to install.
EDIT: I realized I bought the same one as @sukhwant717
I received mine, looks like great quality, easy to install too ?
