ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.3.0
Here is a CWM-Based 6.0.3.0 Recovery built from cm10.1 source
Disclaimer
I am not responsible if you break, brick, hump, throw against wall or any other action you do to your phone By using this recovery. you agree anything that happens is your own noobtastic fault. Any attempts at blaming me for anything other than this being fantastic will result in you being pointed and laughed at.
what is "recovery" ?
Recovery mode is a minimal, alternative mode of booting which allows you to install software from zip files, backup/restore your device, and perform low-level operations like factory reset and formatting partitions. All Android devices have a recovery mode (it's part of the stock AOSP environment), but the default recovery mode is very limited. For example, it only allows you to flash zips which have been signed by the vendor's private key.
ClockworkMod Recovery was developed by Koushik Dutta (@koush), and is much more flexible... If you want to flash CyanogenMod, you MUST have a non-stock recovery. Right now that means ClockworkMod Recovery.

Thanks and good work
how do i install cf-root.first i install with ext4 recovery and format my device to ext4 and then when i install cf-root and then i reboot my phone is and just stuck on "galaxy gio" logo.does am i done a wrong method?
You need to make a nandroid backup, then flash ext4formatter, then restore your backup and flash cf-root
Format = clean
So everything gets wiped, you wiped everything and then installed a kernel, but it has no system to run so it cant boot

extformatter is the same as wiping.
it wipes every partition on your phone, and then sets the filesystem to use EXT4 instead of RFS.
first flash a stock rom again, or restore your backup if you had one.
instructions:
- install custom recovery supporting EXT4
- do a nandroid backup
- flash ext4formatter.zip
- restore nandroid
- flash cf-root
-reboot

So here's what I did to my new N7100, in order;
- CF-Auto-Root via Odin
- Philz Recovery via Odin
- Nandroid backup of stock ROM
- Factory reset, cache & Dalvik
- PA 2.56 and corresponding Gapps
- then reboot
The screen tears on the splash, there's no boot animation and the phone is unresponsive until well after the capacitive button lights flash and I press a bunch of buttons lots of times. I've set up a few phones in similar ways, nothing like this before and no clue WTF is happening. Thanks for your help :good:

Can't flash zoots zip in recovery
I installed ParanoidRom and everything was going fine till my phone did not start and went into bootloop.I'm really worried,i don't know what to do.
I've gone into recovery and wiped everything from cache to sd card but nothing seems to help.I have tried re-flashing boot.img and recovery.zip files but nothing works.I tried downloading stock RUU for my device but could not find the right one.
I want to flash another custom ROM but i don't know how to do it without access to SD card.SD card does not show up in my computer. It shows up only if i start my phone and change from "charge only" to "disk drive" but since i can't boot into my phone that option is closed. Is there any way to install the ROM from the zip file on my computer?
I have tried extracting the contents of the ROM zip file to the fastboot folder and flashing the boot.img but it gives a BootMagic check fail error.
Is my phone bricked,is there any hope,i can't lose my phone.
Yes there is hope, so don't worry

Ok i managed to copy the ROM zip file to SD card but when i tried to flash boot.img it gave me a BootMagic check fail error. What do i do now.
R: Phone stuck in bootlooop!
Why are you still trying with that rom?
Custom roms are sometimes bad, its happened to me 2 times one after the other....theyre just too buggy to work.
also putting stuff on microsd card from phone is kinda....stupid. just use the microsd card adapter for pcs they always hand out one along with the micro.
Download ANOTHER custom rom (there are many better ones than paranoid...foxhound or rootbox are good. Not cyanogen they still need to make a complete version for s3).
And FACTORY RESET/FORMAT EVERYTHING and then flash from rom package. Why bother flashing boot image?

---------- Post added at 07:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:39 PM ----------
Plus theres no reason to be worried if ur phone is stuck in bootloop. Bootloop saves phones not kills them. If it can't run the os (custom rom)....well it just can't. Take off the battery and re insert, at least it wont run out of battery life.
Then when uve got everything ready along with rom on sd card just boot in recovery mode and do what i told you earlier. If sdcard is a problem i remember there was an option in clockwork to have the rom pushed to the phone from the pc just like what happens when u root with odin...

I'm trying a different ROM.I'm not using Paranoid ROM i'm using PAC ROM.I don't have a microsd card adapter but anyways i was able to successfully copy the ROM zip file to the sd card.
I have downloaded PAC ROM but i can't install it.If i install it by flashing the boot image in fastboot folder it gives a BootMagic error and if i try to install it via CWM recovery it aborts the installation and gives some weird error.

I'm using the boot image found in the zip file of PAC ROM.When i flash this boot image it first sends boot but there's and error when it tries to write boot.
I was using the command fastboot flash boot boot.img but that was giving an error so i tried using another command, fasboot flash system boot.img and there was no error this time.So i typed the command fastboot reboot and went into recovery to open CWM recovery and chose install zip from sd card,i chose the zip file but it gave an error and did not install.I don't know what to do.Looks lik my phone is done.

Are you going mad? What the hell is pac rom? Are you fixated with paranoid android? All they have are.dropdown windows like tablets...not really very useful. Get a MORE popular rom, and more stable. Try aokp.
And dont flash just the bootimage. Flash it ALL. Reset everythung to factory and install FULL rom...at this point its obvious.the problem of the paranoid rom doesnt rely in bootimage...maybe its kernel.
So:
Intstall new rom + new kernel(just to be sure its not kernel problem).

PAC rom is quite popular.
And only image files can be flashed and there is only one image file in the zip file called boot.img
R: Phone stuck in bootlooop!
dont get sensitive i was trying to help. What i meant was:
"Good sir, would it not be wiser to stop flashing bits of roms and instead flash all of it through cwm?
It does, in fact, seem to me that your downloaded rom/roms appear to be broken or somewhat buggy, perhaps flashing some evem MORE popular roms that the already very popular pac rom would fix the problem, thus liberating all of us from the madness you cell-phone is causing and making it's user happy once more"

Now i try to install a "cyanogenmod nightly" - but in my Rom-Manager Premium v5.5.2.3 is no choice for nightlys? There is to chose between
"ClockworkMod", "Font Packs for Android 4.0" and "Google Apps". Under "Google Apps" are four ROMs to find; 20121212JB, 20121011JB, 20120429ICS and 20110828 Universal.
After installing Clockworkmod Recovery the intern storage of my phone is nearly full - 327 MB free of 10,0 GB. My Card is nearly empty - 54,4 GB free of 59,4 GB. Should i cutt off the folder "clockworkmod" with 2,77 GB and copy it to my desktop or must he leave on the phone storage?
Goomanager is better for browsing between Roms and it's free. You can also flash TWRP recovery which for me has a better UI, but they both do the same work.
Oh and your space prpblem is cause of the backup. I suggest you move the backup to your PC and remove it from phone.

Hi Sinalco,
Wanted to just know that have you successfully installed Cynogenmod ROM even though you were getting some messages like "ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix? THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE' at CWM reboot?.
Is that message coming even after installing Cyanogenmod ROM?
Please help me because I am also getting same messages during CWM reboot

Selecting yes will keep CWM
While you select no, recovery will be replaced by stock one.

rom may flash stock recovery on boot, fix?
Is my data deleted on the internal storage? Can I recovery them? plz help me.
