[Q] CRT animation maybe via Xposed? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to get CRT screen off/on animation? It seems that Xposed allows a whole lot of stuff that normally would need zip flashing so maybe this is possible as well? I really miss it but I don't want to change my rom.

[Q] Change Stock ICS boot animation

Hello,
I'm looking at trying to change the boot animation after the newest updates, and I can't seem to get it to work. I'm rooted with CWM.
I tried copying my bootanimation.zip and bootanimation.mp3 into my /system/media but even when changing owners, group, permissions, etc I couldn't get it to work.
Does this need a custom kernel to allow for boot animation changes? I just cooked up a pulp fiction "SAY WHAT AGAIN!" animation and i was hoping to use it haha.
Well I made some progress. I replaced the samsungani file in /system/bin with the one from the zip in this thread.

The animation works but now I need to figure out the sound.

Lockscreen on 4.3

I have currently 4.3 and I like how I can use multiple pages on my lockscreen. But i can only use it with swipe. On my nexus 7 I can have a pin on it. Is there a way for me to lock it with multiple lock screens?

I believe you can accomplish what you want with Xposed Framework. In particular THIS Module. But you will have to have Xposed Framework install first. It goes without saying. ALWAYS DO A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE TRYING / FLASHING ANY MOD

Power Menu Reboot options for stock rom?

I have minimal root and/or custom rom needs. I mostly just want to disable tethering checks, use adaway and have the reboot options in the power menu enabled.
I use the new chain fire systemless root, and I know how to add text to the build.prop file to disable tethering. Is there any way to enable reboot options to the power menu without installing an app or custom rom?
I am aware of Xposed modules, but gravity box power menu options don't seem to work like they used to.
I really like the way it is provided in Chroma, but I have found my battery life is far better on stock than custom rom. (though I'm probably doing something wrong)
thanks for the advice!

Question boot animations?

has anyone messed with or changed their boot animation? looking to change mine to something but wasnt sure where to start
I don't think there's much happening, at least when asked differently before:
Any cool boot animations out there?
I'm wondering if there's a nice animation to replace the ugly warning on a rooted device?

Maybe a custom ROM or Magisk module has something...

what files did you replace?

I only tried flashing through magisk. I've tried renaming orig boot animation.zip and placing the new one in there but that was also unsuccessful

yeah, it looks like flashing through magisk might be the only way, for some reason you cant change the root directory files manually, so i guess i gotta figure out how to make a magisk module
Push it thru fastboot is probably the way to do it.

Downloaded and wanted to make a backup of my stock bootanimation but the backup function doesn't seem to work. Any hints?
Edit: Figured it out, needed to browse to root/product/media for installation location and give the app root access. Gonna give it a shot now.
Edit 2: was able to make a backup but app is unable to install new bootanimation.zip no specifics
