If you're staying on stock ROM or any other stock based ROM, it'll work.
Yes, if you relock your BL and update via PCC/SEUS.

No needed to relock, like some hours after SE release an update, the guys of XDA can release to you the rom.

Hey guys I have a very noobish question..How do i know if my bootloader is unlocked or locked ?
I have just bought a new Arc S.
Thanks in advance..
Just type *#*#7378423#*#* and go in configuration menu or something like that then you ll discover what you want to know

if you had bought a new one i'm sure your bootloader still locked..

Uh, don't go about giving wrong information. You will NOT be able to find out whether your bootloader is unlocked through the service menu!
What that shows is only whether you're 'allowed' to unlock the bootloader or not. Pretty big difference.
And a brand new phone from the dealer is bound to have a locked bootloader.

The thing is I finally decided to unlock BL on my Xperia S,I made a present for my phone and unlocked it, but I forgot about losing Bravia Engine and Track ID, now I'm on 4.2.2, but thinking of returning to stock firmware as Official JB comes out, so I need any mod that will bring BE and TrackID back. When I installed .55 firmware I had Bravia Engine option in Display settings, but I don't know whether it's working or not. So if you know any way how to return these things via CWM I'll be very thankful.
TrackID still works, Bravia only if you relock bootloader.

It also won't work on relocked bl. He lost his DRM keys and he can't get it back. So, if you want BE buy new phone with locked bl or search on our forum a instructions which says how to have be on relocked be

Be my guest. It worked for me, but you need to know that everytime you reflash your ROM you need to add those files in /system directory in order to have Bravia Engine and Music info. working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068225
P.S. You only need to have root access.

WOW, thanks, I remembered that I've seen something like that but couldn't find that post, thank you, will try that.
I'm on 4.2.2 Slimrom and I like it very much.
No problem. I am currently using XZXperience, have used CM10.1 and really like 4.2.2 but the camera app is bad and scrolling in apps like Faceboot etc. are really laggy so i don't use them anymore. Whatever. Glad to have helped you
ONLY XPERIA S STOCK ROM .45 .50 .55
First go in setting -> application -> all
Find this
semcMetadataCleanup.apk
And this
SemcMusic.apk
Delete data and cache of this app
Then
Install the app with the same name of my zip
And download music info work again
link: http://sonyandroid.altervista.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=504
I add other apk to update visualizer, album and video app at the same link.

I know that and that makes even less sense. It has always been possible to download music info with a locked bootloader, unless you unlocked your bootloader and relocked it, but in that case there was this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...o working again on ICS with ReLock bootloader.
And now there already is an app that works on both. I'm not the only one saying he's months late...

Firstly, your OP doesn't say anything about not requiring root, so there's no reason to shout at us as if that's an obvious difference.
Secondly, if someone is running stock firmware on a locked bootloader and without rooting, the music downloader will work anyway.
I don't want to troll, but you can't go claiming you invented something when it's really nothing new.

The only way is with a kexec (boot with stock so it bypass security and then load cyanogen mod kernel) as i come from xperia u and they have tryed the old 2011 way with the pins and that has been blocked.
They have tried to force change it in the .ta and all they did was brick phones.
