Recovery not working, eh? But you can still boot into Download mode?
Then you can simply flash a stock ROM using Odin.

hi.. after i tried to upgrade CWM to 5.8.4.5 using terminal emulator method, i cant not get into CWM...
this is the message i get
it says
Could not do normal boot..

custom binary download: yes (2count)
current binary: custom
system status: Custom
qualcom secureboot: enable
and there is the green android robot
and under it it says

Do not turn off target!!
I can boot into my FreeGS3 R6 rom fine, and the phone it self runs as normal, but when trying to boot in to recovery i cant.
even when i try to boot in to download mode i get a similar message.
plus my computer wont detect my phone too. tried reinstalling driver but fails to install....
What do i need to do... how do i get CWM back so that i can continue to install custom roms in the future.
Please Help.
Just install ROM Manager and flash CWM from there.
Another great alternative is to flash TWRP using the Goo Manager app.
You're actually in download mode. This is where you can load ODIN and flash base roms onto your phone.
Are you sure you're pressing the right buttons? It should be holding volume up and home as you power on the phone.
Are you saying holding volume up and down both brings you to the same screen? That's a rare one...
WoW... i hate(or love) it when there is a such a simple solution to my problem....
Thank You...
Would you happen to know why my computer isnt detecting my phone

Hello,
I have a Galaxy Nexus GSM. I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader using Galaxy Nexus toolkit a while ago, and flashed the 4.1.1 stock ROM (Build number JRO03C). Yesterday i received a notification for a system update to 4.1.2. I hit download, phone rebooted into recovery, i chose to flash the rom and everything seemed fine, however i'm still on the older version 4.1.1. Now, when i try to boot my phone into recovery (VOL_DOWN & Power Button) it shows me the boot screen and says "Downloading, please do not turn off" and i can't do anything. If I hit the power button again the phone reboots normally. Any ideas what I can do?
Sorry if I am at the wrong section.

Volume down and power is the key combo for Odin download mode. You want volume up, volume down, and power. This will take you into the bootloader. From there, you can use volume up/down to scroll to recovery and press power to load into recovery.
That used to happen to me.....I later realised that it's Coz of the update....well simply return to the previous version of the app and re-flash without the upgrade. Hope it helps u out too.

My Gio is bricked now.
After I pressed power on button, it stucks on the first screen with SAMSUNG logo and flash on and off once a second.
I can get into the download mode but it still stucks after flashing any official rom.
I can't get into recovery mode also.
What can I do now to revive my gio?
Thanks!
William
I don't think that it is bricked

Thank you for your kindly reply.
I also hope so.
But what's the solution steps?
I flashed many rom by odin but no use.
I had a similar bootloop issue. I flashed with odin 2 times, still same. Then I got into recovery and wiped data, cache and Dalvik cache and it worked. However, I still have no idea why this phone won't boot into CM10 (stuck at boot logo)...
What happens when you try to get into recovery? Have you tried to press and hold menu first then press and hold power?

Our problems are different.
You can get into recovery while I can't.
I exactly know how to enter the recovery mode, but when I hold the menu and power button, it just lighted on and then off as if the program crashed and restarted.
Then the screen is on and off over and over.
Anyone can help me?
Or suggest some post to let me learn and try?
Thanks

My phone can only enter download mode.
It can't boot normally so it's rooted or not is not important.
And it also can't enter recovery.
I have read the link you give me.
The second step is: Press down the Volume key and the Power button.
But I don't know which volume key it means.
Volume Up or Volume Down?
Anyway, I tried Volume down, Volume up and Volume down+up.
All of them have no effect.
take out the battery and wait a few minutes... after that put the battery in your phone and try it again... maybe it works
Sorry for my bad englisch

I used this method many times.
It's no use.
VOLUME DOWN + HOME + POWER then release POWER this should do the job entering the mode.
You can also try by connecting the phone to pc and in Kies go to Tools-> emergency firmware recovery
If your phone is NOT rooted and the warranty is still able then you have the option deliver it to the shop for repair.
If it IS rooted then you can try installing other custom roms by Odin, you'll find plenty of them in development section.

1. Volume down+home+power, it will enter download mode. After it entered download mode, I release power with holding the volume down+home, nothing happened, the screen still show "downloading". Are my steps above right?
2. In Kies->Tools->emergency firmware recovery, there is a list of devices, but it's blank, nothing to select. And there is a button to popup a dialog. In that dialog, it let me input a recovery code, but I don't the meaning of it and don't know what to input.
3. In Kies->Tools->firmware upgrade and initialization, after I input the device model and serial number, it told me the last version I have initialized on my device and let me put the phone into download mode. I put the phone into download mode and press the button to let kies process. But it popup a dialog with all koreans. I cut the screen and email to someone who knows korean and he told me the meaning is "Can not upgrade because the binary files are unregisted. please confirm the registration of the binary files". But I don't understand what the BINARY FILE and REGISTRATION mean.
4. I've rooted the phone and also it's out of the warranty duration. If I use odin to flash stck roms or custom roms, it finishes well but nothing happened to my phone. It still can't boot normally or enter recovery.

Yes, I've flashed stock roms many times.
I have tried one package roms and multifile roms, but all of them have no use.
After each flash, I try to boot my phone or enter recovery but all failed.

I can't download the link list in that thread.
Could you please give me some other link to download cwm?

CWM 5.0.2.7
flash it with odin, then reboot your phone and see if you can see the cwm interface, then insert a custom/stock rom on sd card and flash it through cwm.

What do u mean by keeping into download mode?
Normally you can go out this mode holding Power boutton and the phone reboots. Or you can remove the battery, press the vol up + home + power and then put back the battery to enter into recovery mode.

i just flashed Phoenix V18.8 rom and when i reboot, i plan to check on the recovery mode but it shown me download mode instead of recovery mode...
both power button + home + up/down goes into download mode...
try to use odin3.07 to flash philz_touch_6.41.6-n7100.tar.md5 which i get from here http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/n7100
but every times it just said " Pass " and reboot....and goes in back to my Phoenix rom(i mean go into android system)....and i power it off...try again...still became download mode...any help?? :crying::crying::crying:
You do know that go into recovery mode you got to press volume UP ,home button and power button, (volume down ,home and power is for download mode) Just retry pressing the correct buttons. Doens't phoenix rom have extended power menu where when you click on reboot from the ROM/Android system you get options of going into recovery/download/reboot?

Yes I do press the correct button,
Up+home+power
And
I did reatart into recovery but it turns me into download mode...which I don't know why after I flashed v18.8 phoenix rom....
It's not exactly the same as down+home+power download mode wherby this step show me whether I want to go into download mode by pressing up or restart by pressing down...
But the "recovery mode" which turns into download mode...it didn't ask me anything and directly turns into download mode

Turn off your phone,
Press three buttons simultaneously &
Release power button when note2 N7100 logo appears.
Plus, install mobile odin pro from play store & Forget PC Odin things. & flash Stock Roms , recovery(all .Tar files) stuff at your fingertips & on the go.
Except if you want to flash bootloader then of course it requires PC odin.
