[Q] Xperia Home bug - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having a problem with my Xperia Home (default xperia launcher), sometimes when I connect my phone to mass storage mode then after I disconnect it some app icons on the launcher will move to the last page, it is annoying because I have to rearrange them and fill the spaces in the launcher (their original position). Also happens when removing and reinserting the microSD card. Experienced the problem on Stock ROM and NXT LE. Is anyone also experiencing this problem?

This is normal for apps that are moved to SD card. You will find that all the apps that move to the back are the apps that you have moved to your SD card. Since connecting SD card to computer and removing SD card both cause the phone to lose access to the SD card, hence the apps will be gone until you plug sd card back in, when which the apps will end up at the back again. Hope this helps

I've encountered this problem as well. Unsure as if to why this occurs, but there isn't any hope of Sony giving us an update.

I see, thanks for the info, any fixes yet? If none yet what launcher can you recommend? Something simple and light

If you want a light launcher, use zeam launcher. If not I will recommend Trebuchet or just use the list by alphabetical order function in xperia home.

Thanks! I'll try those

MicroSD problem [16GB C6]

I'm having trouble with my MicroSD card, Transcend 16 GB Class 6.
It only shows in 3 ways, all of them appear at different times:
1. My music would stop playing. DoubleTwist would show me "Memory Card Error". I fixed it by unmounting/remounting. Happens pretty often, once in 2 hours or so.
2. Market apps would not download. I fixed it by rebooting. Happens once a day.
3. The most serious one: my phone would freeze, and when I reboot, my wallpaper would be reset, all widgets break, Simple2EXT apps would be missing. After a reboot everything would be fine, but my wallpaper and widgets would need to be placed again.
I'm running CyanogenMod 7 RC2, S-ON. What do I do? Is my card a lost cause?
Should I return it? Is it fixable?

[Q] Issues after installing CM-11 (unofficial-nozomi) Beta 3

Hi.
I have installed CM-11-20140411-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi and the installation went smoothly.
However, I am facing the following issues with my phone:
After moving apps data to the internal storage, whenever I restart the phone their shortcuts on the home screen are removed.
After watching a video from Facebook and going back to Facebook, the phone is stuck (I have to reboot holding the volume up and power button).
I could not find anyone else reporting those issues.
Anyone face problems with this ROM?

Facebook is a known issue, there are problems with the video drivers. Yesterday 2 other people reported that Facebook bug in the OpenSEMC thread. I don't know how to fix it, I don't use the Facebook app, but there is some discussion about it in the other OpenSEMC based threads like Carbon or OmniROM.
Why exactly are you moving apps to internal storage? Aren't they fine where they're installed? Also, which launcher are you using, is that Trebuchet or did you replace it with Google Now Launcher?

Thanks for the update regarding Facebook.
I am moving apps data to internal storage to save space. As for the launcher, I am using Google Now Launcher.

Music and Photos on SD Card

Hi All,
Wonder if anyone can help. Since I've rooted my phone to CM 12.1 (now working great! Thanks F4K!!!). The only issues I have is that the Music app and Gallery app don't read the music/photos directly off the sd card (only when moved to phone storage). does anyone know a way around this or know of any music and gallery apps that would read directly of the sd card?
Also, would anyone know how to stop the soft key lights coming on when touching the screen? I've tried the device root app (I think its called device root not 100% sure). When I've downloaded it and set the switch to turn of soft keys when touching screen, it always switches itself back on.
Thanks all!

LineageOS GT-1915 serranoltexx: icons disappear in launcher

Running the latest nightly build 14.1-20171006 LineageOS, some icons disappear from the launcher screen when I restart the device using my SD card as adoptable storage.
As far as I can guess from other posts, this is likely an issue of the SD card being mounted too slow, so that the launcher removes the shortcuts. However, I am using a SanDisk SD 64Gb SD card Class 10 (C10) / UHS Class 1 (U1) and I double-checked this behavior with an other SD Card with very much the same specs (SanDisk 64 Gb, C10, a litte bit older card). So there is not much to improve on the side of the SD card...
Does somebody have an idea how to solve this while keeping the SD card as adoptable storage? (It is quite obvious that not using adoptable storage will solve this issue, but this is not really an option...)
An other little bug with the current nightly is, that setting a WiFi to trigger a profile that removes the device lock screen makes the home button stop working. (However, I can disable WiFi, lock the device and unlock it again, and my home button works again.)

constantly scanning sd card

Hi all!
I have always kept my music library on internal storage but I recently got a large sd card so I don't have to copy music back again every time I reset the phone. I am currently running stock Pie with June update, no root, bootloader locked.
Since I have put my music library on the sd card (30gb of music on a 64gb card) everytime I reboot or wake up the phone, I got a notification of "scanning sd card". And the music library in several players I have tried (pulsar, shuttle, musicolet) is empty and slowly repopulates.
When I first used the card I put it into the phone and formatted it as portable storage, then copied music in it.
I thought i was the only one with this problem. It happened after the PIE update. It was ok when i was on OREO. The same thing happened to my note 5 pro after the PIE update. It seems this is related to PIE rom, slowly remounting the sd card ofter boot. I changed a few cards before thinking it was the card problem. Hoping the devs would solve this problem with the next update.
Give PowerAmp a try, it's something, and works even after reboot

With the smaller sd card and music library on the phone storage I didn't have this problem, did you?

I'll give it a try, thx
EDIT: the same problem persists also with Poweramp.

I used memory card since i bought the phone, it's a 64 gb card. Never had any problem when i was on oreo. The music from internal storage seems to have no problem. Tried a few cards and seems like the 32 gb card loads faster. The 64 gb and 128 gb loads slowly and these are high speed read/wirte cards. Also if i didn't use the player after a few days i have to rescan the library again for the music to load. The same goes to some stuff on gallery too. Contents from memory card went blank and only viewable after a while.
I've also same issue on two individual A2 lite with 32gb SD cards (1x samsung & 1x intenso).
I expect that the SD card is unmounted when the device goes into sleep mode. If phone wakes up again the card will be mounted again.

I can also confirm this behavior.
May its possible to get some details with MatLog (during wakeup & sleep). But I'm not able to do this, cause my phone is not rooted.
I have this problem only with the music on sd. Images in the gallery show up correctly.
I have searched for this issue, and it seems a lot of people experienced it also with older android versions and phones. Someone fixed it with an app called Wakelock, others just changed their sd card or lived with it.
Guess i'll just live with it until this phone fails me. This problem doesn't really annoy me much. It's still pretty much a great phone for its price.
For me it's very frustrating, gallery does not work correct if i use it direct after unlock and also camera app will crash if used direct out of lockscreen and phone was in deep-spleep before (target directory is set do SD card). Sometimes (1-2%) if i wake up the phone the card is not mounted properly. Phone reports card is damaged, after reboot everything is fine again.
