Anyone been able to get the gps for this app to work on a rooted SGS3? I have it in system apps but notta gps, still enables wifi only. Any help or workarounds? Thanks!
I'm not having any issues with it. Can you rephrase your issue, please? The web interface won't track the phone?
It will track the phone via web, but the gps will not track, all I get is a little split second icon like the gps wants to turn on, but wont, and wifi automatically takes over the phone internet connection. Im trting to get gps to work on this thing and its not.

Mind the fact im on the stock Rom rooted only, no custom recovery.

Does the app have su access? Have you enabled Device Administration within the app?
Delete thread, problem was solved through cerberus support. Was wondering why gps icon was disappearing suddenly. Once the app enables, gps goes to ghost mode.

So, here is the situation with my Samsung Galaxy S2. Every now and then, when the phone is left idle and I try to browse to use the Internet after a while, the speeds are unusable.
So, I run one of those network refresh apps every now and then (which basically puts the phone into airplane mode and back) and that always solves the problem.
My question is whether anyone knows an app that can do this automatically, say once every hour.
Now, this is an issue that I had with my phone ever since I installed ICS on it and none of the different ROMs had helped and neither did flashing different radios.
So, if anyone knows an app like this or has a similar problem with their phone, all help is much appreciated.
Should be a way to do this in either Llama, which is free, or Tasked, which is a paid app.

Mainly happens with Facebook (have locations disabled but still turns on the GPS and tries to get a lock)
Randomly the GPS will try to get a lock (or even get one) and stay on, even after the application that was using it is closed... Have tried using terminal to stop the location service and doesn't do anything...
Anyone found a workaround for this (besides the normal rebooting)... It started to eat the battery like crazy when it does this

I have this same problem. My solution was to stop using the Facebook app as it is the only one that causes me the problem.

I've had the same problem with the Facebook app, I suggest turning the GPS off from the pull down bar before entering the app all together

My gps is constantly going off recently which never happened before. I can't figure out why, though. Hoping there is a way to tell which app is causing it

You could get BetterBatteryStats to see which process triggers it.
Although, if you have it turned off and location access off, it shouldn't trigger on it's on. Unless you gave permission to a app to do so (like facebook).
So I've searched around and nothing has helped. I have already tried the agps patch to no avail. I am currently on CM 10.1. I would love to use my GPS. Any ideas? Btw, I have tried turning off gps and turning it back on while Maps or another app is searching for gps signal but that didn't work neither.

Can you provide a bit more? Is the GPS not turning on? Incorrect location?
Make sure when you're testing you have a clear view of a good chunk of the sky. Turn off "Allow Mock Locations" (in developer options) to make sure something isn't providing bad information overriding the GPS antenna. Also make sure the app you're using has permission to use Fine Location

For example, when I try to use Maps, under the GPS icon I see "Location Set by GPS." it still does not work though. Last time I tried using it was while I was running outdoors and it still did not grab any signal. I'll try to take off Allow Mocking but can't seem to find it. Lol. I'll keep looking.

I've had the exact same issue ever since flashing 10. My phone doesn't even pick up satellites or anything. I flashed back to an ICS ROM, and everything worked flawlessly. Even on the stick touchwiz 4.1.2 it worked, but on cyanogenmod, I haven't been able to get anything.
I just switched to Jedi Mind Trick 6 and still the same issue! What now?

Maybe it's your router or better yet the router settings. Have you tried changing any of those settings?
Am I missing something? How is it a Samsung thing? What kind of router do you have?

After looking all night I found a thread that fixed this. You have two choices really to fix or buy your router which I'm not going to do, or you can type in on your dial pad *#0011#. Then you click your menu button, click on the wifi option, and then disable the energy saver wifi mode. That made it so my phone wouldn't drop wifi connection anymore. NOTE: each time you restart your phone you need to turn the wifi energy saver off through the command *#0011#. Hope I helped some of you because this bug is truly annoying.

That stinks. I don't have any problem and I think this is only the 2nd time I've seen anything posted like this about the S4 (the S3 did have that issue and was common). I've never turned off any energy saver and mine stays connected 100% of the time. So you're saying either that or you have to buy a new router? What kind do you have now and what settings on it did you find out that cause this issue for you?
Right now I have whatever Verizon gives fios customers. It works perfectly for all my phones, tablets, and computer. Just not on my s4 unless I do the dial pad trick. I'll post a link on the xda thread when I get home on how to fix your router. It really does make me angry that I paid 600 for the phone and it does this. Hopefully Samsung fixes this soon since they acknowledge the problem

Btw here's Samsung acknowledging the problem.

Do you have a dlink router?
GS4
My gf has an S4 and has the same problem. We have a Netgear WNDR3500. So it's not isolated to a D-Link. She also did the dial pad trick and it seems to work for her as well. Need to find a script to run on boot to set the power save to OFF.
