Network speed - HTC One X

Hi fellas
I still don't know if the one x DOES support H+ or does not?
If yes Why it doesn't show on top of screen H with plus same like on galaxy S II or S III ?
Is it possible to add it there so I can see if I am connected to the H+ or just H (HSDPA)
Thank you

It does support H+ but doesnt show the H+ icon.

Thank You for answer.
Is it poss. to tweak it that it will show + when enhanced HSDPA is activated by network?

Change the H to 4G

So I have a Galaxy Nexus bought from Google Play and I absolutly love it. I'm using it on Tmobile and it displays an H icon for HSPA+
I know that I can easily root it and install a rom, but I perfer not to. I simply just want to change the H icon to 4G WITHOUT rooting.
Is there any way to do this?
without root, no you cant.
Get a post it note and write 4g in the corner where the glue is and then cut it out and sick it over the H.
Otherwise root.
No you need root. And if you did root and you did change it, it'd affect your future OTAs
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Would I need to install a custom rom to change it?

No. All you have to do is open up SystemUI.APK and go into drawable-xhdpi and replace two images of "3G"
Can I change "E" to "LTE" and get faster speed?
Otherwise, what's the point?
OK let's say I did root, can I just use the existing 4G icon that's built in and simply designate it to show up for T-Mobile?

Yes you can just rename the icons and they'll show up. There's plenty of flashable zips to do this too. You're not the first one to want this.
But once you start editing things you won't get OTAs to install properly anymore... editing things that aren't meant to be edited messes with that stuff.
Why not just leave it as "H"? You know what it is. Just leave it.

[Q] H symbol to 3g and h+ symbol to 4g?

Does anyone know how to do this?
Like instead of H it shows 3g.
And for a modded H+ ui it shows 4g.
Can someone do this and put up the systemui apk or a mod?
Thanks!

Rename SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.apk.zip, then do it yourself...
It's just a matter of renaming files if your current ROM have the H+ addition..
As far as i know, Stock ROM doesn't have it..

Show HSPA+ as 4G

Hello
How can I make my Note II to show on the signal indicator "4G" instead of "H+" (when I'm on HSPA+ of course).
I thought replacing the images, but I couldn't find them. Also, I'm using Simplistic Framework so I guess there could be some problems with that.
Thanks!
Have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149287

IMO replacing the icon is the simpliest method.
It is located in SystemUI/res/drawable-xhdpi/stat_sys_data_connected_h_plus.png

Has anyone tried out the Download Booster?

I noticed a toggle in the toggles menu called download booster. It enables both the wifi radio and the LTE radio to work together to gain additional speed when downloading files over 30mb. It's pretty slick.
Check it out if you haven't
Yep, I'm using it from day one and it's pretty slick!

I think you just pull down the notification bar and you'll see in the notification shade the wifi/4G bars signifying the speed its pulling from each source to download the item.

OIC. Thank you.
curious
Does anyone know if there is a torrent client that works with this feature? I've tried searching for one with no luck... maybe there is one that emulates this feature
When it kicks in, there will be a notification on screen that tells you its working.
Then during the transfer there will be a notification in the drop down menu..
It seems like it only works during certain types of transfers.. like web downloads and such. It doesnt kick in during an ookla speed test.

It only works for files over 30 mb. then you'll see a different icon show up in your status bar. Also if you pull down your notifications , you will see the wifi and LTE speeds in a bar graph kinda thing

Was wondering this myself. We would need to know how it's determining the file size. I bet once we get root, that's one of the first things that get changed , always on DL booster lol

Yeah I tried it with tTorrent pro and it wouldn't work...and that would be the only time I would ever need the booster..so really its useless to me

I have dropbox sync on and I upload a lot of videos to youtube, for those situations it's great. But ya, torrent would be nice. It's simply a matter of convincing the phone that whatever is being downloaded is larger than 30mb.
